Yesterday I posted about the networks listing the 2-hour special as airing this Sunday, August 2nd. Well now it’s 100% confirmed on MTV’s end….the promo for the mystery-style episode is below. It’s still listed on TeenNick’s schedule, so there’s no reason to assume they won’t air it on Sunday as well. It wouldn’t make much sense for them to push it now when they’ve been pushing July 31st as the series finale hardcore now for weeks.

It instantly gave me flashbacks to Nowhere To Run…in that case, I’m hoping Grace is the new Bianca. Here’s the official episode description:
Maya (Olivia Scriven) has high hopes of spending the summer lifeguarding at the beach with Zig (Ricardo Hoyos), but her hopes are crushed when she fails her CPR class. Determined not to let her summer be a total bust, she sets her sights on a nanny job for a prestigious music producer, but is foiled by Gloria (Nicole Samantha Huff) who swoops in and gets the job. Frankie’s (Sara Waisglass) pumped for her summer job as a city hall intern but finds it’s an uphill battle with the other older interns. Meanwhile, Zoe is determined to coast through summer school with Tristan (Lyle Lettau) by riding the coat-tails of Hunter and Grace. And while all the kids have challenges, what really overshadows the summer is that sexy and infuriating Gloria goes missing. This cloud hovers over everyone’s summer as they are all, in one way or another, touched by her disappearance.

I’ve probably just missed this but when are they having the special that will include old cast members? Also, is that just a Teen Nick production and will it be available in Canada too? Thanks in advance, hopefully I haven’t already missed it….

TeenNick’s cast special is airing Friday night right before the finale. Unfortunately, it’s lookslike it will only air here in the U.S., and a because it’s an hour long posting it on Youtube is dangerous with Viacom’s reputation. I’m pretty confident Kyle from CableTVT will make it available to download though.

Thanks Kary. One thing that’s been different with this last segment of 14 is the availability of episodes via file sharing and torrents. With 13 and the other part of 14, the episodes almost appeared as after thought, presenting themselves during the weekends along with documentaries, reality and talk shows. I’m not sure whether it’s because interest in the show is increasing or if it’s just the amount of attention this last bit has received via cable advertizing.

No offence but these plots suck. Zoe in summer school? Really? What kinda plot is that? This is t Disney. Real let down. How they gone mention sentencing twice & now we don’t see it? The logic
Of it doesn’t seem right. That woman said “a few months” & that was mid or end of May. A few more the would be July or August. But there’s no point of her being an 11th grader. & bringing it up in a reboot?
Epic fail! She hasn’t even confronted Zig. She should at least go to Juvie. Now we gotta wait 6 mo the (& pay for it?) But I’m sure she won’t last past thanksgiving. Why is she even in summer school?
& she’s too dressed up. & with Hunter? I know he’s pissed. But coat-tails means she is using them to get ahead. So she’s trying to cheat or scheme? Has she learned nothing? I feel sorry for Grace. I hope

Wait… So the older cast won’t be involve! Man, that makes me so sad and upset I’m not ready for to say goodbye to Clare Ali Connor jenna (who never got anything) and Dallas, I thought we had this movie to be the last hoorah.

Kary have you noticed that all of the Degrassi Movies (4 part specials) have the Characters act “OOC” experiences? Im wondering if you or anyone else has noticed .

i thought this was really entertaining and the only problems were that it seemed to start too abruptly, maya probably shouldve minded her own business with the singer, adults dont want to hear from kids and will not listen to kids, but on just about all tv, in the end they come around to agree with the kid and its a happy ending. it wouldve been better to have maya stayed fired instead of the happy ending.
and then the zoe/other girl friendship/romance seemed like it came along fairly naturally other than being condensed somewhat for time, and i liked those two as friends or more, but i think degrassi has done the ‘same-sex friends become romantic’ plot enough now to not do it for about another ten years. they just had it with becky & adam, & also miles & tristan. probably plenty more before these two recent ones. its like anyone with a same-sex best friend in degrassi should be worried they will develop romantic feelings for the other person. it wouldve been cooler at the end for the piercing girl i cant remember her name, to after the kiss tell zoe she wasnt a lesbian. then either that could be an issue for zoe to deal with, or later on the other girl could admit that she was and then they have a relationship. how it went was just typical, even though i still liked it, it just wouldve been more effective if the same basic premise hadnt been done so many times before.
