Hi, I’m Kary, a senior citizen in Degrassi fan years (32) and I work in radio. Just so you know, I do not work for Degrassi. I’m not affiliated with DHX Media, Netflix, or any entity involved in the creation of this show. I’m just a random guy running a fansite!
I started DegrassiBlog.com in 2009. When I first started watching Degrassi in season 3 (2004) there were Degrassi fansites everywhere: show sites, character sites and even ship sites . Over the years all of those eventually faded away. Around season 8, I noticed there were maybe 1 or 2 sites around. Before Twitter and Tumblr became the mainstays of Degrassi’s online community, Degrassi info was out there, but scattered. I wanted to created a place where fans could get all of the important info in one place, so that’s where we are now!

I was online and found out some things about the second half of season 10! <33
-Clare's parents finally divorce and it leaves her emotionally unstable. She deside's to go against her religion and cancels her abstinance. She wants to have sex with Eli so she throughs herself at him, but he truly knows that she is only doing it because she is rebeling. He knows that she is truly not ready so he rejects her offer. That is when she is walking away crying. She then thinks that he does not find her "sexy" or "physically attractive" so she changes her look to the goth look because she thinks that he would like her more like that. -Eli starts having haluccinations about his dead ex-girlfriend, Julia.-The gun that Dave is holding up is a Tazor gun. -Leia is leaving Degrassi for good because her actor is attending Harvard University. On the show, Leia is moving to Hong Kong.-Ali will only be on a couple of episodes because her actor, Melinda Shankar, is doing a movie called "How To Be Indie". -There are rumors of Adam not being in the season after these epsiodes.-Drew gets an STD from Bionca.

On or around October 8th. But it’ll either be back sooner, or they’re making room for an Every Degrassi Ever marathon… Because they’re re-airing The Boiling Point awfully fast. They’re actually airing it 7 days a week

i just saw the very first episode . alli was going to take drew back but she got called to the office and her mom and dad record and her found out about the other side of alli . alli got suspended and had to leave degrassi . jenna lost next teen star and is now stuck with a decision to keep the baby or give it up for adoption . i love this show . its so interesting . lets see what happens next !

Ok 1st. You won’t find out how to get an acting gig via an amateur site. Go to the professionals. Get an agent an contact one of Teennick’s managers and then they will tell you whether or not they actually need or want a new character for the show. I doubt they are going to pick an inexperienced actor/actress now that the show has reached a peaking point. It just won’t happen. You have to start out small and then in a couple years you might be able to try out for a show like degrassi. I can just tell by you asking for advice on a fan made site about trying out for a role in degrassi that you have little experience in the acting company. You have to start someplace, and maybe 5 years ago you could have started your acting career on degrassi, but not anymore. It is a too high rated show now and they are looking for those with experience. So wait 3 or 4 years and get a job on a local soap opera show or start in the commerical business. Then after a while on that show, and after you get some real experience, then you can send in a video clip of some of your best acting. You will then have a better chance of being CONSIDERED for a part. If you do this now, you’ll just be wasting your time and their time.

So i sorta kinda changed the dates around for the Season 10 Awards (Sorry for the late notice) so the dates are now Jan 7 to- April 23 (one day after the finale) now, i did this because i was sorta anxious about doing it, also, i am very close to hitting 500 views, in my only 2 and 1/2 months of blogging, so yeah, the polls and everything are up now, thanks for all of your cooperation! :)

I think that Eli and Julia got into a fight because Eli was “suffocating” her as he is doing to Clare. I also looked up the Dark Moon book and that was cazy! I am a huge fan of Degrassi and thank you so much for your updates :)

hi, as nerdy as this sounds…Jamie Johnston and Cassie Steele make appearances in Disney’s My Babysitter Is A Vampire playing the Bella and Edward-lookalike characters in the movies “mini-movie” which is supposed to be a spoof of Twilight…and the sad thing is i had to explain my excitement to the 8 year old im babysitting…and i figured you may want to make a shout out to Jamie and Cassie

Hey Kary, I have a quick question. The first episode of Degrassi Now or Never stated that the Degrassi students were on Spring Break, and then all of a sudden, in “Idioteque” it was snowing?! How is that possible?!

Some people have stated that it is possible for it to snow during Spring Break up there, but technically it’s snowing because it had snowed on the day they were scheduled to film…so they just went with it. And the snow on the ground is real, but any of the “falling snow” was added digitally.

Hey I’ve been a fan of the blog for a while and really value the episode assessments that you have done from season to season. However, I was wondering if you have ever considered doing character assessments as well. I think it would be very interesting to get your perspective on the individuals characters and their arch since their introduction into the show. I was wondering if you’ve ever thought about doing something like that. Like doing what you do for the episodes but with the characters.

Happy Birthday. I know this is late. It’s comforting knowing that people around my age still watch Degrassi. I gave up on the show earlier this year. You have stated before that these newer seasons are like an entirely different show than the earlier seasons.
I got into Degrassi when I was 17 years old . Before that, my family didn’t have digital cable. But I would be watching Nickelodeon and see commercials for Degrassi. I wondered what the show was like. Then in the summer of 2003 my family got digital cable and it included Noggin. I discovered Noggin when I noticed that Daria was on. I hadn’t watched Daria since the show ended. I soon discovered that the show I saw commercials on Nickelodeon was on this network. The show was on every night. I watched every episode from season 1 and 2. They had a countdown to Degrassi season 3 with sneak peeks. In the Fall of 2003 is when they started airing season 3. That was my senior year of High School and I was hooked.
In my research of the show I soon found out the noggin removed racy material and decided not to air and episode at all. There is more to this story. About how I found the episodes online after they aired in Canada so I could watch them in my dorm. But now I am almost 26 and given up all together on the show. I traded my DVDs to amazon all except season 1. Which I am trying to sell online right now because I got it signed by Miriam Mcdonald and Ryan Cooley during a meet and greet in 2005.
The show doesn’t seem as simple anymore. But I think that’s because high school has changed.

Look i really want Eli and Claire to go out can they become like really close friends again then is there any way the Claire’s *new* parents get a divorce but in the mean time Eli helps Claire though another tough obstacle in life they discovered that they still deeply love each other again. In the end Jake gets jealous. So yeah we know it is like a love triangle between them but that’s the drama of degrasi! As long as there dating im good!

Hey Kary, I don’t have a Twitter so I hope it’s okay to ask my question here. Do you have any idea/speculations about what will happen with the seniors in season 13? I know they’re graduating but they just haven’t been on very long at all! All other Degrassi characters have been on for at LEAST three seasons. Jake, Katie, Moe, Marisol and Imogen have only been on for two seasons at the most. Dallas has barely been on for one season. Any thoughts?

Hey, Kary, I’ve been on a Degrassi dvd binge lately. I’m on season 6 right now. I’ve been wondering, you’ve talked about how in the current season Drew being out of Degrassi and you kind of been losing interest in him because he’s not in the school anymore. And you’ve also mentioned a similar thing about Spinner, Peter and the other graduates. I was wondering what you thought about Jay still having a presence on the show after he was expelled. While expelled, he stayed connected with Spinner and Alex and eventually Manny, but was still not a part of the school anymore, so what are your thoughts?

1) Degrassi isn’t on Blu Ray, just DVD. I doubt they’ll ever add Blu Ray b/c they aren’t putting much into producing the DVDs anyway. :-/
2) There are no “Canadian versions” of the DVDs. All DVDs have the full version of the episodes. TeenNick hasn’t cut anything out in years, so get that out of your head!
3) There’s no difference between the 2-Disc and 4-Disc formats…they have the exact same features. Echo Bridge initially released the 4-disc boxsets for seasons 7 and 8, then came back and re-released them both in 2-disc format because it’d be cheaper (and it’s been that way with Degrassi DVDs ever since). The only reason the 4-disc set costs more is simply because it has more discs and disc cases.

No one knows! The company that has produced the DVD for the past several years is no longer doing it, so a release date is up in the air until further notice. :-/

Hey Kary! I’m just wondering if you suspect season 14 is the final season? They usually talk about preps for the next season around this time, but there doesn’t seem to be auditions this time (unless they’re being quiet about it).
Also, at the beginning of the season, it foreshadowed a fire at the school (which is how the old original Degrassi show ended, with a fire at the school). They also never foreshadowed a future episode before. Wondering if season 14 is the last season… ? You probably don’t know for sure but what’s your opinion?

Nice to meet you Kary. I am also a Degrassi senior citizen (30 as well) and have seen it all from the beginning….When I was 4 and 5 years old, I used to hide behind the couch while my big sister watched the Junior High episodes way back when Snake, Spike, Joey, and Wheels were teenagers 😊
My favorite seasons were the ones with Jane, Spinner, Emma, Manny, Craig, Paige, etc. But the best episodes by far were the ones when we got to see some former character reunions! Even though I’m sure it won’t happen, I am REALLY hoping for a class reunion some time soon…or the least they could give us elderly fans is a small reunion at the graduation of season 14’s seniors. I think it would be awesome to see Emma, Spinner, Sav, and Darcy stop in to see Connor, Alli, and Clare graduate. Fingers crossed! 😉

Alright Kary…we need you to use your magic and get us an update on the launch date DNC season 5.. this week will be a year from from the season 3 drop and they are typically really good about adding a new “season” every 6-7 months. Starting to get worried 😟
