Here in the U.S. we have a month and a half before we get to celebrate this holiday, but today is Canada’s day to enjoy Thanksgiving!
I’m thankful for this show, which has been a big part of my life for over a decade, and the friendships I’ve formed because of it.
Here’s what some Degrassians are doing this holiday weekend:

If you’re looking for something Degrassi related to do, you can watch the show’s Thanksgiving-themed episode, Spiderwebs (Season 13, Episode 16).

Not only is this episode notable for kickstarting the Clew storyline, it also marked the end of one of my favorite ships of all time, Drianca. Thinking about how people complained that Grace’s feelings for Zig “came out of nowhere” in Next Class (the declaration was sudden, but it’s definitely probable that she secretly harbored feelings for him for a long time), Drianca’s split was probably the most-prominent instance in recent memory where a character’s feelings “randomly” changed.
We received no warning that Bianca’s feelings had changed, and that was intentional on Degrassi’s part. They wanted viewers to feel as blindsided as Drew did, a strength of the episode that wouldn’t have existed if we’d seen beforehand that Bianca was wanting to move on from their relationship.
UPDATE…I totally forgot about Paige and the turkey…thanks Nina!
Yeah, Free Fallin’ (Season 6, episode 14) is worth watching just for the turkey scene alone:

But enough about that…enjoy some pie and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey, don’t forget season 6’s episode “Free Fallin’ (Part 1)” was also Thanksgiving-themed!
