    1. There was no actual press release…a lot of the information came from Family Channel’s tv schedule on Zap2it, and Degrassi Source tracked down some of the descriptions elsewhere.

  2. I’m curious if you’ve seen the alternate description of one of the episodes that’s been posted in some places. (It’s on Wikipedia if you want to find it; I won’t spoil it here just in case.) It provides an extra piece of information about one of the plots that’s… causing a reaction in the fandom, shall we say.

I’m hoping it’s false information, because I know that’s happened before. But there are reasons to believe it might not be.

    1. It’s definitely not false information, that alternate description came from Zap2it. I don’t even know what to say because his character won’t be able to redeem himself in the eyes fans after that.

      1. Yeah, I’ll be among those fans.

        (Spoilers)

If they do it right, it could be a chance to tell a story like Krew at Drew’s party, or Declan’s last appearance (plots which weren’t handled particularly well) and do it better this time. Those stories are different than Zoe’s assault, etc, and they could do a lot with that- consent once isn’t necessarily blanket consent forever, pressured consent isn’t really consent. Whether someone can be at fault for doing something they didn’t realize was wrong. That sounds like a great idea.

It’s just baffling that they’re using Zaya to tell that story, as others have pointed out. Considering how supportive Zig was after Zoe’s assault. Considering that the writers made sure Zaya’s first sexual experience was explicitly consensual (even with the drug issue and the later regret.) At this point, he has to know that’s unacceptable.

And sure, there have been tons of OOC moments before, but with someone so beloved and with so serious an issue, you’d think they would at least try to make it make sense.

  3. I still find it hard to believe that the episodes are only 22 minutes long and that they’re suppose to touch so many storylines. I wonder how they’re going to juggle all of them at once. And yes for lola’s storyline!! It is time to stop shaming girls about masturbation.

    1. The show has always been 22 minutes long and the storylines (although sometimes bizarre) have always worked out fine. There’s 18 regular students and 20 episodes. By interconnecting the storylines, they’ll be able to pull it off. Seasons 5 & 6 both had 19 episodes and the storylines worked out fine.

    2. No one is shaming girls of masturbating. If anything, boys/men are being shamed.
