For the third straight year MuchMusic is hosting an exclusive party in their parking lot to kick off the new season of Degrassi. This year, Much is doing a contest to send someone and a friend to the premiere party!

You have until Sunday, July 8th to enter. The grand prize winner will be chosen on Monday, July 9th. The winner will receive:
1) Round trip airfare for 2 to Toronto
2) 2 nights at a hotel (specific hotel TBD)
3) $500 spending cash
4) Entry for 2 into the Premiere Party
5) The chance to be around my awesomeness at the Premiere Party (SEE BELOW)

Season 12 Premiere Party Details
The Season 12 Premiere Party will be on Monday, July 16th. It’ll be from approximately 6pm – 11pm in the MuchMusic parking lot. Most, if not all of the cast will be there. If it’s following the same format as last year, some of the cast should be appearing on New.Music.Live. then they’ll head out to the parking lot for autographs/pictures and a Q&A session. And of course Much will show the Season 12 premiere episode “Come As You Are Pt. 1” right there in the parking lot.
I can’t remember if I’ve officially announced it on here (I’ve been rambling about it for months over on twitter), but I’m traveling to Toronto early next week and I will be at the premiere party on the 16th. So if you’re gonna be there too you’d better come find me and say hey!
FOR THOSE PLANNING TO ATTEND (ESPECIALLY IF TRAVELING FROM THE U.S.)
As of right now, there are no details about how to RSVP for the party. It WILL be a free event, but because of the limited amount of space entry will be on a first come, first served basis (aka you’ll be needing to line up early to guarantee you’ll get in).
MuchMusic should be announcing details about this sometime between now and Monday, July 9th at the very latest.

Yes! I will so be there! I missed last year and I decided to go this time around! Wish I could participate in the contest but I’m so tired of them excluding Quebec it’s so unfair. People in the US had contest, other Canadians too but we don’t have anything about Degrassi in Quebec, I’m so tired of that.

Someone explained it to me before (but I forgot lol), but what is the reason why Quebec is always excluded from Canadian contests?

Quebec requires that companies pay costly fees in order to have contests in the provience. Additionally, Quebec wants to approve all contests, so it is both costly and time-consuming. They (Quebec) have “unique” rules and fees for the contests. I guess it’s the price a person pays for living in Quebec :(

TeenNick needs to get with it and hold a premiere party in the states. It’d be cool too if they had mini events throughout the country like one in California, Washington, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, and New York. I know they just did that cast thing but they need to show more love to the show that keeps people watching their channel. I’d risk getting stabbed on a Greyhound and getting crabs from Motel 6 to go to Phoenix for a Degrassi event. I mean just going to Pheonix means dedication; that place is gross.

I agree every Degrassi contest they have is only for Canadians I mean do they know that Degrassi also has american fans too don’t get me wrong I love Canada and Canadians but every contest I don’t see the point for americans to even go on their site anymore lol

It doesn’t really make sense for Much Music to have contests in the US since they are a Canadian TV channel. I’d blame Teen Nick for the lack of American contests.

Thank you. The American fanbase is not MuchMusic’s target audience. It doesn’t matter if you can access their website here in the U.S., if you aren’t in their viewing area then you don’t matter. If TeenNick were to do a contest only American residents would be eligible.
