Before getting into the promos I need to address the latest info about the Degrassi Viewing Parties. If you aren’t going to any of them or have no interest in this, you can just skip down to the promo talk.
Last night was the L.A. Degrassi Party. I’ve been worried about the parties since they were announced, because (excluding the Mall of America screening) we hadn’t really heard anything about the specifics of what people going to the event were in store for, except that they were showing an episode and there was a Q&A. So the L.A. party was a good for us to know what to expect with the other parties. I’ll highlight the bad and the good:
The Bad: If you’re going, you’re not going to meet the cast.
This is a weird situation, because in some posts by gossip sites they touted it as an event where you meet the cast on top of the screening, and others just mentioned it was a generic screening event. Mall of America quickly released an event guide for their screening, and because TeenNick never really said anything about what was going on we were all left to assume that the other four parties were along the same lines as the MOA one, with a huge Meet & Greet event before the screening. I feel bad because I told everyone to assume all of the parties would be like the MOA one, because what else did we have to go on?
We’ve learned that you can get into a Degrassi party with your gofobo pass, but you need a VIP ticket at in order to Meet & Greet the cast (this excludes Mall Of America as far as we still know…see rules for the MOA screening). How does one get a VIP ticket? Well, you had to have won them from one of the handful of websites that were giving them away last week (Ology, Hollywood Life, etc). The problem is it didn’t seem like those sites even realized they were giving away VIP tickets either…there was never any bold, clear-cut statement that VIP tickets were somehow different than the standard gofobo tickets. I don’t know how you not write in bold letters somewhere VIP TICKETS GUARANTEE YOU TO BE ONE OF THE SELECT FEW WHO GET TO MEET THE CAST PERSONALLY.
TeenNick’s overall communication involving these parties has been poor. People not meeting the cast wasn’t disappointing for me, it was the lack of communication about what fans should expect…we were getting mixed messages from different sources with no clarification. Even with something simple like the questions we all initially had about cell phones, it took Stephen Stohn bugging them to tell us to disregard the cell phone rules printed on the gofobo tickets. If they haven’t even told Lisa Beebe (the awesome lady who writes for the TeenNick blog) what the heck is going on at the other 4 screenings, then there’s a problem.

The Good News: The party will be worth it anyway.
There were initial complaints about the event seeming disorganized on top the whole not meeting the cast thing, but after the event was over even some of those people said they had a good time. Whether or not you meet the cast shouldn’t make or break your experience. I’ve never been to a Degrassi event, but even I can tell you that the time actually spent meeting with the cast will be over by the time you blink. Every person I’ve talked to who has been to multiple Degrassi events says that the fun comes from meeting other fans there. So now that we know what to expect, let’s have a good time in DC, Minneapolis, Chicago and New Jersey!

The promo doesn’t offer anything new besides showing us the escalation of the Katie/Bianca feud, and DRIANCA KISS. I’m not a fan of Krew at the moment, so their demise is fine with me. It’s so funny…for the longest time I felt like Drianca was a pointless couple (because they were). And now the moment an even more pointless couple (Krew) comes around, Drianca no longer seems all that bad.
Oh and there’s that whole EClare scene at the end. I don’t know what to make of it because they used Eli’s line “Do you think we can ever pick up where we left off” as a voiceover, so it *could* be taken completely out of context for the sake of the promo.

Degrassi: The Power Play is the upcoming series of Degrassi minis about Alli trying to start her own type of spirit squad/dance group, etc. (I guess the writers totally forgot about her “Big D Dance Crue” storyline in Season 10). Lauren Collins returns as Paige, who agrees to help Alli and hopefully verbally assault Marisol.
It’s a 4-part mini which will debut as followed

They’re definitely showing the first mini on TeenNick during the premiere so I’m guessing they’ll air the other parts on tv as well. They’ll also be posting the minis on the Degrassi facebook page, they’ll also be posting behind the scenes videos there as well.

Oh how much I love Sellie~~~I hate when the promos hype up on Eclare and make the shippers hearts pitterpatter then later slap then in the face. I am not an Eclare but that would suck. I am a Imogeli shipper but knowing Degrassi they are going to mess up that too. Drianca I do love but I hope Drew does not cheat on Katie. As for Cake EEEWWW!

50 bucks Eli saying “maybe we can pick up where we left off?” was directed towards Imogen.
In regards to the Drianca kiss, I never liked Drianca until the start of Season 11 (probably the same for most people) and they only lasted 4 episodes of Season 11. :| So I’m kind of excited to see them come back.. I just hope that it isn’t in the form of Drew cheating on Katie.
It seems like the Katie/Bianca rivalry is continuing from Nowhere to Run. ME GUSTA. And I do want to see the Marisol/Fiona argument. It’s not like I like or dislike Fiona, but she’s definitely a good character and Marisol annoys the hell out of me so I’d love to see them get into a nice heated argument. Can you imagine them fist-fighting?

that’s what my sister and I were discussing! I have to admit that I did die a little (of excitement) when I saw and heard that, but after re-watching it I noticed that Eli didn’t actually say that to Clare (at least not in that scene)! As for what Nikki said, it is a slap in the f-ing face when they get my hopes up and then just stomp on them!

I hate it when there are marathons because the network feels the need to release a new promo every single day and it ends up giving away WAY too much. And I don’t think Tristan likes Zig. It just seems like he’s trying to get Tori to stay close to him.

The worst part about Sean returning in whatever reason he returned? The complete and utter lack of acknowledgment of that couple. Not even one token scene before he left again. (Yes, they had a mini, but I don’t consider those cannon.)
In fact, the one scene at the garbage, Jay asked Sean to consider Ellie and Sean completely blew her off. He was all about *gag* Emma.

-I’m excited for this. I actually love Drianca and Krew equally but I HOPE that any inevitable Drianca reunion turns out to be LEGIT, in the sense that Drew does NOT cheat on Katie. If that happens, Drianca(and Drew and Bianca as individuals) will lose ALL the respect they’ve earned from me, which I might add was NOT easy for me to give.
-Not a popular opinion, but I LOVE Marisol and I don’t apologize for it. I gotta have love for all of my black brotha/sista characters.
-As much as I want Eclare to get back together, I really don’t want it to be rushed. If the writers are going to throw them back together just to shut up these impatient fangirls then I will be quite disappointed. Eclare is EPIC and any reunion between these two must be handled with care.
-Can’t wait til Cake is over.

I absolutely love how Sellie grew in maturity because they complemented each other beautifully. Sean was much more stable in his life when Ellie was around and was Ellie’s rock and they truly loved each other.
Semma was just a waste of time. He was always frustrated and did the dumbest shit for Emma. I like Emma but her and Sean were not a good match. I’m glad she stayed with Spinner because that creates the ultimate opportunity for Sellie to reunite. Screw Crellie. Craig just made Ellie go crazy and clingy for him. He knew Ellie had feelings for him and he still treated her like crap.

I forgot to add this but as for the Drianca kiss, PLEASE LET THAT HAPPEN!!!! They need to get back together and they’re more of a real couple than Krew and Cake will ever be!!!!
EClare needs to just go away. The Degrassi writers completely ruined their relationship after Jesus, Etc. for me. Team Imogeli!

i love eclare and they ar ethe best i dont hate imogen but what elia dn clare had was very beautiful and it cant just be forgotten out of the degrassi history i mean it htey would have never put imogen on the show u guys wouldnt have said anything at all i will ALWAYS BE TEAM ECLARE NO MATTER WHAT HAPPEN

I was at the citywalk party, it was awesome. Although i was fortunate enough to have won VIP tickets to meet them, get their autographs etc. I think the party is definitely worth it even without VIP tickets. The Q and A was really entertaining and the new episode was definitely a “build up” episode, leaving you hanging at the end but it was still coo! The new characters seem pretty interesting, intriguing, ill still miss Holly j and Sav but i always say that about characters that graduate each season lol.

I’m so crazy, I’m making spelling errors…That’s not Katie Drew’s kissing…Drew is just becoming more and more sad. I hope Eli and Clare get back together this time…or at least that Cake breaks up.
