In U Don’t Know we’ve got Holly J dealing with her illness and needing an organ transplant, Adam trying to make a move on Katie and they finally bring all of the moving parts of the whole EClare love square together. For me the latter is the plot I’m most looking forward to seeing in this episode. You have not one, but two wildcards in Eli and Imogen. Also, there are a few American sites (like TV Guide and TeenNick’s online schedule) saying that this episode is called “Rock Your Body.” But a majority are still saying it’s U Don’t Know so that’s what we’re sticking with.

I have come to terms that i love Clare and Jake :) they are a cute fun couple to see who aren’t planning things ahead. They are just having fun and letting things go as it goes. I love Clare and Eli and i kinda do hope they get back together but i won’t be hurt if they don’t. I don’t want Eli and Imogen to date though because i don’t care for them. They aren’t fun to watch, normally Eli freaking and Imogen working him into hating Clare and loving her. Go Cake or Elcare

I love Cake, and I am interested to see this whole, clare/jake/eli/imogen plot play out. Do I think Cake will last? Probably not. But i think Jake does Clare some good. There has been hints that there is more to Jake then meets the eyes, so I am interested to see what route they want to take his character. And why would they break up cause their parents are dating? Its not like it makes them related, and even if their parents get married, its not like they share a blood line.

Since I don’t ship couples, the Cake/Imogeli plot doesn’t affect me much. Of the 2 newbies introduced to the Eclare romance, Imogen is clearly the front runner. She’s fun, kooky and just plain ol’ entertaining. Jake is about as exciting as a damp rag. If I had to choose a side, it’s Imogeli (can we come up with a better name for them please?) but that’s simply based upon how Imogen has been introduced thus far. I have no horse in the race other than my enjoyment from episode to episode.
It’s actually much easier to watch the show without aligning with any of the couples. Since nothing is forever (especially on a teen drama), it makes it far less annoying if something doesn’t go my way.
I still giggle every time I see Chantay. I’m going to miss her buttinski ass when she graduates.

I’m actually really looking forward to all three plots in this episode. I’m sure Holly J’s plot will be nothing short of predictable, but that’s okay. The Katam chemistry looks interesting. And I’m really curious what Imogen and Eli are saying to Jake and Clare at Little Miss Steaks.

I am loving the love square. I think Cake has a lot spark. I know Emogen is a wee bit odd couple but you know they have spark also. I have a feeling with Eli’s obsession with Clare is going to heartbreaking. And I believe Eclare will not get back together this season. Emillsecond is not even a word. This is why I think Stephen Stohn is messing with our heads about Eli and Imogen. They might become a couple for awhile and so will Clare and Jake.
As for Holly J and being adopted she will be mad but still be ok with it. For the Kidney donor wanting 20,000$. I think Mama Coyne will give her the money. It would be weird if someone at Degrassi could be her donor as an another student. Like Adam who needs the money for breast reduction surgery? That would be Epic.
Adam I think is going through a lot of the physical problems of being a trangender.The problem is Adams age. Many doctors will not give concent to male enhancement surgery until they are fully developed or with a parents concent. There is a rumor going around that Adam asks his Mom for breast reduction surgery and she say no.

Good episode. I’m actually excited for tomorrow to see mostly how the Kadam storyline plays out. Holly J is without a doubt my favorite character, and this is a strong storyline, but it was so predictable that I actually think I’m more excited for Kadam..

The Clare/Imogen lunch eating scene was by far the greatest scene in Degrassi history. I need to watch that on an endless loop!
My theory is that Holly J is Joey and Tessa’s unaborted child. That child would have been born around 1992 and since S11 is the 18th school year after the “School’s Out” movie, it totally adds up. Yes, I’m living in a dream world, but that would be absolutely insane.
Adam and Katie have a lot going for them, but I think I’m going into a little bit of Adam overload this season. He’s one of my favorites, but there are a handful of others who I would prefer get as much attention as he does.
The writers were really on the ball tonight. A lot of fresh, intriguing dialogue that worked well with the 3 plots going on.

Ok so tonight’s episode was interesting, it definitely felt like a two-parter in that mostly everything that happened was a setup for the next episode.
Holly J- Even though the promos made this storyline extremely easy to spot for me it didn’t take away from the storyline itself. If anything it reminded me how good of an actress Charlotte Arnold is and how compelling the character of Holly J has become. She has somehow transcended from the archetype of rich mean girl to a character we have all come to love and care about. More than anything I’m happy the writers are giving her another major plot before graduation. It’s also nice because it doesn’t revolve around a relationship.
Clare & Imogen- I have to say this entire interaction surprised me. I was a bit put off by Clare’s whole “I’m over it, I have a boyfriend” if for no other reason than at the beginning of Now or Never she was screaming her head off in a public place about Eli forgetting about her. But I think her sentiments are true to life, the saying “the best way to get over someone, is to get under someone” comes to mind here. Aside from that I was intrigued by this idea of Imogen becoming Clare to grab Eli’s attention and Clare willfully helping her to do so and even giving Imogen the dress she wore for Vegas Night. I will be interested to see where this leads.
Imogen- In this episode we got more glances at Imogen’s desperation for Eli, I like that the writers are giving us a slow build with this, it makes very intrigued to find out why she’s so fixated on him.
Imogen & Eli- The kiss was well done. That being said I don’t know if I think this couple has a legitimate future. To start off a relationship because someone successfully became the embodiment of your ex girlfriend who you’re still in love doesn’t sound like a recipe for a long-lasting relationship (but this is Degrassi so what relationship is truly long lasting?) What I am intrigued by is how much Stephen Stohn seems to be pushing the Emogen pairing. During tonight’s entire episode he only quoted lines that Eli or Imogen said, or that were directly related to their characters. I’m not sure if all the support is really for this couple or Munro Chambers but its something interesting to note. Lastly, in this episode Eli was being so removed with Imogen at the beginning, but in an episode last week he was whispering in her ear on a bench outside the school. I’m not sure if this is just the highs and lows of Eli off the anxiety meds or if the whispering and close talking was solely for Clare’s benefit, but something about his coolness to Imogen initially in this episode seemed off. Like haven’t they been spending all their time together lately? At least that’s what I was assuming. Why is he acting like she’s a random theater groupie?

I enjoyed tonight’s episode. While Holly J’s plot was pretty predictable, I enjoyed all the Heather-mentions lol, and I’m looking forward to Part 2, and seeing who her mother is. The Teennick promo made it seem like it would be a shock; although it could just be Teennick hyping things up.
It’s obvious that this season is about the physical aspect of being transgender for Adam. I’m interested for this in Part 2, especially because Marisol was the one who said that Katie wasn’t into Adam, and it didn’t come from Katie directly. Dave wasn’t the only one who thought Katie was giving signals lol. Oh, and apparently, Katie needs a man who’s packing. ;]
Onto Imogen! I’m just going to say it again: I love her! She is SO entertaining, and I love watching her. I think people are taking her role in the middle of the Eclare-drama much too seriously, and are saying they’re annoyed by her for that reason, since she’s manipulating Eli, but whatever, I’m not one that is super concerned with the state of Eli’s fragile mind, so I find her to be absolutely amazing!

i dont think there is too much Adam, i like him, maybe they will take a break of him after this plot, its not like he is like the whole eclare thing or clare/declan… ugh, i get sick of seeing couples blithe. i would much rather see someone suffering with their own social issues, someone with realistic problems, not slightly outlandish.

Finally an episode about Adams boobs. Everytime I watch Adam it always bothered me how unmale his character is. Its like he doesnt even try. Even when he walks, he walks like a female. This character is more like a BullDyke if anything. I just cant see jordan todosey as Adam. I never really could. even when they first introduced this character, I thought Oh Cool a new lesbian on the show.

I remember in My Body is a Cage, they showed that Adam wrapped his boobs and was wearing a lot more baggier clothes, but ever since they moved to uniforms, he seemed to have stopped wrapping. The age gap doesn’t make sense.
Lets look at it this way. Holly J is 3 grades younger than Paige’s grade (I’m pretty sure my math is correct in the Degrassi verse. Marco/Ellie should be juniors in university now.) All through HS, Paige kept mentioning Heather Sinclair as if she was her age or maybe one year older. I don’t think it was ever implied that Heather Sinclair would have been that much older than her.

Strong episode to start off the week. The Holly J storyline is far more interesting to watch that I thought it’d be, considering we all know how this is going to turn out. Eli is totally going to fall for Imogen because she’s going to remind him of Clare, which would be a great setup for the “I have to be the guy you fell in love with” scenario. I wonder how Eli would feel if he knew Clare was helping Imogen (which is going to happen, I guarantee you). Speaking of Clare helping Imogen, that surprised me the most this episode. Then I remembered Clare has a tendency to be the bigger person, and not hold things against people. So nice to see a bit of the old Clare return (a girl who has no care for drama). And why does Adam continually get screwed over by women? Kadam will clearly not last for too long. Adam will definitely not get surgery now, but I can definitely see it in his character’s future.

Here’s what I think about the new characters.
Imogen- I’m not going to lie but I actually like Imogen. From her description, I think writers did a good job making her just like it. At first she seem crazy but that just made me want to know more about her.
Katie- Eh. She’s okay. I like her. I don’t really have alot to say about her. We just see how she goes.
Jake- Jake Jake Jake. I will admit he is good looking. But all we know is that his mom died or his parents got divorced. After that it’s Jake Martin who? Also his description says he loves outdoors and we haven’t see that at all. But we have all season to learn about him.
Also Something way off subject but am I the only who thinks Eli has a daughter. I know its weird and out of the blue but what if that what Eli and Julia were fighting about- her being pregnant. Who knows. It’s Degrassi anything can happen.

you know, the idea of eli having a secret child is not totally crazy. when watching umbrella part 1 i remember thinking the same thing when it was mentioned that eli and julia had sex. it was completely random. that entire plot could have done without revealing that. so you very well could be on to something. it would not surprise me if it’s revealed that julia had at least been pregnant.

Looks like TeenNick goofed and put up the promo for Lose Yourself (Part 1) which is Wednesday’s episode. Kenna gets the A-Plot, Cake/Eli (and possibly Imogen) get the B-Plot, which means Sav/Ms. Oh probably are getting a C-Plot. In the promo for Tuesday’s ep, Holly J’s part was last and she got A-Plot, so assuming the format is the same for every episode, then thats it.

Just watched the promo and its still up! So i’m interested to see what happened with Jenna/KC/Tyson and why exactly the baby ended up in the hospital. For some reason their storyline is really starting to feel like an Amber/Gary/Leah storyline from Teen Mom to me.
I am simultaneously excited and peeved about the apparent return of Crazy Eli. I’m peeved because I don’t like that Eli only seems to start acting crazy when he’s around Clare, which I feel is a slight disservice to his anxiety storyline. Eli’s issues started before Clare including the hoarding and its starting to feel that the writers are melting down his problems to be solely about Clare. I’m excited for the return of Crazy Eli because it reminds me of Craig when he went off the rails, its always entertaining and Munro Chambers plays crazy well. Also I feel like the Eli-Imogen-Clare-Jake quadrangle needs a new spark and source of tension to move that story forward.
Looks like it will be an interesting week at Degrassi.
PS. I also LOVE all of the people on here who broke down the Degrassi timeline in reference to Holly J and Heather Sinclair, stuff like that always fascinates me.

I agree with you completely. I don’t really get why Eli is only acting crazy around Clare. I understand that she’s triggering him, but this entire play revolves around her, so shouldn’t he be tense and anxious all the time? I don’t know. Maybe in some weird way this play calms him down because it makes him feel closer to her or something. I really have no freaking clue.

I wonder how Adam’s physical issues are going to be handled (testosterone injections, etc.)…because, obviously, they wouldn’t be able to do anything to Jordan Todosey. It definitely will be interesting.
Also, waaayyyyy down the road, I really want to see a Clare/Adam romance. Since Clare is a Christian, it could be an interesting, controversial angle.

First off, i’m loving Dave lately. He really is a great supportingc character who has evolved from being a little simeball to an easy going, funny cool kid. Right on Dave!
Also just like everyone, I’m loving Imogen’s eccentricity. It’s so entertaining to watch, especially when she was imitating Clare. Unfortunately though, I don’t know if I’m completely team Emogen just for the reason that Eli doesn’t seem to be interested in Imogen…it’s only whene Imogen mentions or acts like Clare is when Eli seems to entertain the idea. On the upside, I like how Sadie auditioned for the part of “Clara” considering Degrassi writers have perceived her as this satellite character who can’t operate without Dave. Hopefully she’ll be weaved into more storylines which will give her more independence.

I’ve gotta say this episode was rather good. Even though it was set-up for tomorrow’s episode, it didn’t feel slow or boring at all.
Holly J: I like that they didn’t blurt out that Holly J. was adopted, but I’m also glad they didn’t wait for a few episodes because it was fairly obvious what was coming. Charlotte Arnold acted very well and believably. I’m also quite excited to see how her first meeting with bio-mom is gonna go. Solid beginning plot.
Adam: I like how they are tackling the physical side of being transgender without it being too in your face. It was subtly hinted at throughout the episode that Adam might need to physically change to have a real girlfriend. Again…I’m interested to see where this is going.
Imogen: Her character is very…insane and therefore is very entertaining to watch. This plot was definitely the most “I never really saw this interaction coming” of any plot this season. I like how Clare is willing to help Imogen and how Clare seems to make it clear that this is only because it could be to her advantage, but I don’t like how Clare got over Eli so quickly just because she is with Jake now. And I don’t like how Eli’s behavior seems to flip-flop so much. Is he crazy or sane? Let’s pick a path please! Btw it was very entertaining to see Imogen mimicking Clare in the cafeteria.

*sigh* Okay, Seasons 01-05 were single year seasons. Running along time as the years they aired. That means that Paige, Marco, Ellie, et al graduated in ’05. Heather was with them.
Seasons 6/7 and 8/9 were half-year seasons, meaning that time got kinda stuck back in 07. Instead of setting Season 10/11 Part 1 in 08, they jumped it all up to current date, making Season 11 Part 1 the tail end of the ’11 School year. The school years for the cast still around have been shifted to match this. Thus the six years apart comment.
Although we’re really overthinking how this impacts the interactions of cast given that it means Holly J and Jane never even knew Spinner and such. The best way to handle it is that everything before Season 8 never happened.

I was tweeting back and forth with Stephen Stohn a few weeks ago about the next DJH/DH reunion to mark 20 years from their graduation (even though we have to forget Joey didn’t graduate with that class, but I digress.) He mentioned something about S12 or 13, which makes sense since the start of the second half of S11 *should* be the 19th year from when the original class graduated in 1991 (And if we’re being technical, they should have graduated in 1992, but School’s Out Flash-forwarded one school year.)
Whenever they come upon the school year which would make Clare/Alli/KC/Jenna/Dave/Adam seniors, that would be the year to hold the reunion. This is assuming they still plan to bring back the DJH/DH cast. He could have been referring to Ellie/Marco/Paige/Craig’s grade. If the second half of S11 puts them as seniors (Ellie and Marco), they may have them return when that grade is scheduled to graduate university, some time during Season 12.
Clearly I’m thinking way too much about this too!

Emma was class of ’07
Jane was class of ’08
Holly J is class of ’09
Drew is class of’10
Clare is class of ’11
Sadie is class of ’12

Heather Sinclair was in 8th grade during Season 1, with Paige, Spinner, etc. Season 1 depicted the 2001-2002 school year so that means Season 1 ended during 2002, not 2001. From Seasons 1-5, the season # is the first year of the school year. So Paige and co. graduate in Season 5 which is 2006. With the retcon, in the Degrassi universe, Jane and friends graduated as the class of 2008 I believe, and then Holly J and friends graduate as the class of 2011. Therefore they are only 5 years apart… Writers made a goof.

Great start to the two part episode.
The Holly J. plot was rather predictable, but I do like when Charlotte gets to show off her acting shops. Also, nice to see Fiona, even if she’s not crucial to the plot thus far; I’m hoping they give her a good story soon. That Charlie thing was nans.
I’m not big on Imogen, to be honest. I feel like she’ll grow on me, but as of right now, her character just seems to be building up for a really anticlimactic Clare/Jake/Eli/Imogen storyline. I have a feeling they’re going to blow it, so I’m irritated with all involved.
Finally, much concern about the Adam/Katie thing; I feel like Katie’s just trying to get close to Adam because she feels like the whole transgender thing would be a good newspaper article. Perhaps Marisol saying that Katie found Adam “interesting” was foreshadowing that.

BTW Imogen was not acting like Clare she was Clara. But Eli admires Imogen but we will find out more tonight.

Adam wants breast reduction surgery. Not going to happen with Mama Torres.

Im guessing Holly J’s birth parents want the $20,000 for a kidney and HJs parents can’t afford it. Then we find out Fiona is a match and can save the whole situation by donating a kidney (though, once she find out what it really involves, shes nervous). I think that when Fiona said she wanted to be tested, and Holly J tried to tell her about the nasty part, and Fi said she didn’t care is a foreshadow. It would also be a good plot for a normally selfish Fiona.

I doubt Katie ends up having any interest in Adam no matter what. I think it’s going to be a season or two until Adam finds someone that works for him.
