Welcome to the “I’m Degrassi’s Biggest Fan” Contest!! This is a contest I wanted to do a couple of years ago, but decided to hold off to make the prize a little more awesome.
I want you to tell me why you are Degrassi’s biggest fan. Read all of the information below on how to enter, and for the love of God read the Official Rules as if your life depended on it.
TO ENTER:
1) Create a 60-second video saying why YOU are Degrassi’s biggest fan.
2) Upload the video to Youtube, Vimeo or Dailymotion, then e-mail the link to me at kary@degrassiblog.com. In the email you must also provide your FIRST NAME, AGE and the CITY/TOWN you live in.
BE CREATIVE!!!! It doesn’t have to just be you sitting there, staring into your webcam and blandly saying “I’m Degrassi’s biggest fan because….” (*HINT* *HINT* Being funny and entertaining is a good way to make your video stand out from the crowd.)

The GRAND PRIZE winner is going to receive Seasons 7, 8, 9 and 10 (Part 1) on DVD:
Yes, they are unopened...you can even see the price sticker on them!
HOW THE CONTEST WORKS:
You have from now until Friday, July 15 at 11:59pm to create and submit your video. I will narrow down the videos to 5 finalists, which will be announced on Monday, July 18. From that point on the fate of the Top 5 will be decided by the Degrassi fans. Fans will be able to vote on their favorite video from Monday the 18th until Thursday, July 21 at 11:59pm. I’ll reveal the winner during the episode of Degrassi Extra on Friday, July 22.

OFFICIAL RULES
*You may submit only 1 video for this contest.
*YOU MUST PHYSICALLY APPEAR AND SPEAK IN THE VIDEO.
*You MUST submit your video, as well as your first name, age and city/town to kary@degrassiblog.com. The video MUST be a link to either youtube, vimeo, or dailymotion. Attachements will not be accepted.
*This contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.
*The video should be 60 seconds or less…90 seconds is the maximum time limit. Any videos longer than 90 seconds will be ineligible.
*You can team up with other Degrassi fans in your video, but be aware only one of you is eligible to win the prize. Both of you cannot submit the same video separately. Also, no person or persons can appear in multiple that are named finalists (ex: If you make your own video, but you also make an appearance in a friend’s video, only one of them will be allowed to be a finalist video).
*Voting will take place here on DegrassiBlog.com from Monday July 18 – Thursday July 21 at 11:59pm. Results will not be viewable until Friday July 22. The top vote getter will be named the grand prize winner.
*The GRAND PRIZE winner will HAVE to provide an adequate mailing address (no P.O. boxes) because, well, I’m gonna have to mail these dvds to you. If the winner is unable to provide me with this information for whatever reason, the runner up will then be named the winner. If all of the 5 finalists are unable to provide this information, I will personally pick the winner from the other videos submitted.

This is very off-topic but I think I saw the woman who played Hazel on an AT&T commercial. The one that is narrated by Peter Krause. Am I confused or have other people noticed this?

You have the order of the DVD’s messed up. Season 7 comes before Season 8. Unless you did that on purpose…

Agreed with person above… how can you be the biggest fan & not have the DVDs?! I’d say cool prize but… it’s kinda superfluous. I only need S. 10 P. 1, ergo, it’s not worth it for me to enter. But I suspect someone could get them & sell them on EBay or trade on swap.com… Because, really, if you’re the biggest fan but you don’t have the DVDs of the lamest seasons, well… you aren’t the biggest fan.

I don’t think Degrassi is ending anytime soon. It’s already been renewed for season 12. I think we can get at least 10 or 20 more seasons out of it. I just don’t understand why there aren’t any spin offs yet.

agreed. I’m interested to see what happens but I really don’t seem to care as much or be as excited as I used to. I feel like it’s getting played out. There’s not that many interesting characters or storylines anymore. There’s only like 3 characters I would want to see and any storylines I would want I doubt they are going to do. The show is more about relationships now and them trying to make every episode intense.

The excitement factor is gone becuz…season 9 was soo lame and then they started showing TBP promos and it was soo much better than season 9….fiona was getting hit,there was a transgendered, a lockdown, declan and fiona kissing. This season doesnt have anything they havent done …or havent done in a long time!

The Show Grabbed Me And Attracted Me From First Glance, When I Didnt Know What A Degrassi Was…It Was Like My Love At First Sight ! I Remeber I Had Woke Up One Morning Just As The Theme Song Was Ending And I Was Thinking What Is This?! Who Is The Boy With The Braces And The Jean Jacket???!! So After Watching An Episode It Was Like Potato Chips I Just Couldnt Have One..And Watching As All The Old Characters (Degrassi Jr. High) (Degrassi The Next Gen.) Grow Up You Can Really Understand Them And Remeber All The Moments That Have Led Them Up To The Point That They Are At..I Set A Reminder For My Tv To Let Me Know When Degrassi Is On!! No Lie!!!
