MuchMusic is running a newer Degrassi S11 promo.  It’s essentially the same as the quick teaser from a few weeks ago, except for it has a couple of new clips in it (Fiona, Dave/KC, Drew/Bianca). Thanks to the lovely soul on tumblr who posted it earlier this week!  Because Friday 6/17 means we’re basically a month away from the new Season, I ‘d start expecting TeenNick to roll out Degrassi promos fairly regulary which we’ll post here on DegrassiBlog as they come in.  In other news,  Stephen Stohn also said that the Season 11 theme song will be released soon, that way we can all complain about how much we hate it until it grows on us after hearing it for 40 episodes.

The Degrassi writers have joined tumblr, spending their time posting pics of things like scripts that have all but one line blurred out, and shots of the on-set monitors (they don’t spoil anything).  They posted the above pic, which reveals that Kenna’s baby is named Tyson.  I’m a dummy, not knowing baby Kenna’s sex came a popular mystery that I should’ve turned into a DegrassiBlog contest to guess the sex.  Then again we could have a guessing contest to see who will start being an irresponsible parent first, KC or Jenna.

The Degrassi Online Store is back…and better than ever? It seems so….blah compared to before (even though a lot of the merch now existed back then).  I’m not sure why there’s no Dead Hand t-shirt, or the thumb ring Eli wears.  Just from a business perspective, you could take anything, slap Munro’s face on it and you’d make lots of money off it…Bruzer you’re missing out on lots of dough.

For all of you who’ve been wondering what Landon has been up to, yep he’s still doing the Terra Nova thing.  Like with all former cast members there’s always the slim chance that he could make a guest appearance someday, but his days of being a regular on the show are over.

A) With Or Without You – First off, let’s ignore the subplot of Manny and Emma “fighting” over Kelly…it’s horrendousness is self explanatory.  It was frustrating watching the plot of Sav/Anya/Alli/Johnny.  They continuously manipulated situations in the episode to create drama, which is unnecessary since drama naturally existed. Anya’s pissed because Sav won’t introduce her to his family, but she accepts his half-hearted apology.  I don’t even understand the logic behind the gossip Chantay decided to quickly spread about Alli/Johnny, unless their walk involved them going to the ravine.    Sav and Anya’s relationship is one that never really changed, despite the show’s attempt to convince us that it could/would.  The only thing the episode does right is accurately depict Sav as a hypocritical ass.

Lost In Love – Anything related to the college kids in Season 8? Blah.  The niner triangle with KC/Clare/Connor is so ridiculous.  In this episode we see the overly-passive Clare that should make us appreciate her maturation in Season 10 even more.  Triangles only work if there’s a sense of conflict…none exists here.  Notice I don’t call it a LOVE triangle, but it isn’t one: unless I’ve lost my mind, Connor showed no interest in Clare in “that way,” and that’s why it’s frustrating.  Feelings only existed between KC and Clare.  But Clare was too much of a pushover to tell Connor no so that she could do what she wanted to do instead.  She knows Connor very well, so I believed she was smart and compassionate enough to have made the rejection easy for him to deal with.

For the main plot of the episode, do you ever get the feeling that they create conflict within couples just for the fun of it?  Well that’s what it seemed like they did with Jane and Barry (thanks in advance to those who get the Barry reference).  Yes Barry lied, but Jane’s reaction seemed so incredibly overblown given that their relationship was absolutely fine before that.  A relationship doesn’t go from being great to someone basically wanting to break up over something like this.  Poor Barry.

By the way, I gave With Or Without You a D-, and Lost In Love a D+.

I made this like 6 years ago…it’s just the Elli/Jimmy/Hazel subplot from Redemption Song with a laugh track.  I put together two more Jellie Show episodes, but never released them…and I never will.
