The Degrassi cast is back on the set today rehearsing! Well some of them anyway, as they practice their lines and prepare for Season 11 to start shooting soon.
Tomorrow is orientation day, and Stephen Stohn said that the FOUR NEW cast members will be there as well:
The winter months (November, December, January) are a bore in Degrassi land, however the spring/summer months when there’s no Degrassi on tv are kept interesting thanks to the explosion of Degrassi on twitter.

The two most notable things from the promo are of course Fitz cyberstalking Clare and Eli making that throat cutting motion.
I know there’s been a lot of debate on whether or not Eli’s behavior in Part 1 was justified. Personally I find it disturbing that there’s so many girls who perceived Eli’s behavior in an “Awwww that’s so sweet, he’s just protecting Clare” manner.
It’s one thing to be protective of your girlfriend. I get that Eli sees Fitz as a threat to both he and Clare. But how can you NOT see that there is something mentally off with Eli? Re-watch the scene where he and Clare are sitting in Morty (after Clare first talks to Fitz), and he flips out about how no one’s going to protect her if he doesn’t. And then the next day where he LITERALLY stands guard outside of Degrassi in case Fitz comes by.
Eli is mentally unstable. He doesn’t behave that way 24/7, but whenever something triggers it all hell breaks loose. Eli might be a cute guy who’s sweet when things are fine, but anyone whose been in a relationship with someone who is truly damaged psychologically will tell you it’s far from being some sweet fairytale.

*I’m kinda excited for the return of Johnny DiMarco. It’s always interesting seeing an old character make a guest appearance after they’ve left the show.
*Is it me, or did something seem “off” about Holly J in Jesus Etc Pt 1? I don’t know, maybe it’s just my mind intentionally looking for clues after reading about Holly J’s upcoming illness…but she did look like she kinda lacked energy. FYI – I have absolutely no idea what her illness could be.
*For some reason I’m not all that interested in the whole Fiona/Bobby plot anymore. I think that’s beause I was expecting it to be wrapped up sooner in the season, so it’s kinda like “Oh really? I thought they were done with that.”

I don’t really understand why people say they are surprised that the Fiona/Bobby Plot is coming back, cause that storyline hasn’t even been finished yet. Sure Fiona gave her deposition, but we never found out if Bobby was found innocent or guilty.

I don’t care too much about the Fiona/Bobby plot for some reason but I’m glad they brought it back — for continuities sake. Sometimes I feel like the writers’ attention span is a bit short on certain topics. So it’s nice to see them follow through.

I’m totally excited for the return of Johnny :) He was my favorite character to me he had a lot of depth, (he wanted to be the bad boy but he was smart and I believe he actually loved Alli but didn’t know how to express it!) I can’t wait!

I can’t wait to see Johnny either. I loved him and Alli as a couple. I’m hoping that they finally get closure and/or get back together. Hopefully Johnny has grown up a little more and stopped being a jerk. It would be so nice to see them together in more than two episodes.

Well, considering that Paige’s rape trial took two seasons to come to head (I’d estimate roughly a year and a half in the Degrassi timeline from the time Paige decided to press charges to the time of the actual trial), Fiona’s abuse trial is coming up well within the pre-established time window.
Of course, is it odd that Fiona’s case, which is being handled in the U.S. court system, is occurring more quickly than Paige’s, which was handled in the Canadian court system? I mean, I have no knowledge of how fast these things go, but I would assume that the NYC court system would be more clogged and slow-moving than the Toronto court system. But maybe that’s just me.

If I recall correctly, Paige didn’t immediately try to press charges against her attacker. It wasn’t until he showed up at Degrassi and was harassing her that she decided to go through with a trial.

Well I mean you have to realize, the season is almost over. Plus it’s going to end on the day Julia died so obviously Eli’s behavior now, is setting up for the last episode of the season. They’re trying to make him seem as unstable as possible so when they finally get to the last episode it doesn’t seem like alot at once. That’s what degrassi does they build it up so when it finally does blow over it makes a bigger impact.

I think during Fiona’s trial they will bring Adam and Fiona together again. We know hat they aren’t over becuase we’ve seen promo scenes with them in it. Plus, it would be an opportune timee to reveal Fiona’s past ti Adam and give him the chance to be that perfect boyfriend to Fiona by supporting her.
I also think it would be a good time for Fiona to honestly talk to Adam without alcohol. The description says she is back to fighting her drinking, but I think that won’t be the big problem. I think the writers are using it as a cover for a deeper problem (perhaps dealjng with Fiona’s sexuality?). Or maybe using her drinking as a buildup to a big event in her life or in a relationship.
Honestly, I am all for Fadam and I hope they get back together in this episode because while we’ve seen that they can each hold rheir own storylines as individuals, they have amazing chemistry, probably the best out of everyone. Plus, Adam being my favorite character, I’m glad he was able to get someoe like Fiona (the hottest senior). I just hope the writers aren’t stupid by breaking them forever and never letting them talk again (like Fiona/Riley or KC/Clare). FADAM FOREVER!!!

Something was definitely off with Holly J. The camera lingered on her face a lot, even though she didn’t have much in the way of lines. I’m also worried that Holly J. might be the one to die, which would be devastating (I love her).
And as for Eli? I hope that Cece and Bullfrog take him to get help soon. Beyond the hoarding, there’s something seriously wrong with him.

Right now, i think this stuff about Eli being crazy, is inaccurate. Because of how he lost Julia, it’s normal for him to be overprotective of Clare– almost getting stabbed by a knife is pretty dang traumatizing too. I don’t blame him for not accepting Fitz’s apology or for trying to protect Clare. Sure, it does seem a little mentally unstable for him to flip like that but there are reasons behind it, you know? I think that Clare should acknowledge this and help him work through it, not call him a pshycho and break it off. They have a good thing.

I agree. I think it’s fair to say he’s unstable but I don’t like that people are using it as an insult or an excuse to write him off as though he were a freak. People can have traumas in their lives and can suffer from mental issues but that doesn’t make them less worthwhile as human beings. It just means they need help. I’m annoyed by the girls who swoon over his behavior and think it’s hot — because clearly there’s something wrong and there’s nothing fun or cool about it … but I’m equally annoyed by the people who talk about it like he’s a freak now. I think I feel particularly strongly about this part of his storyline because I’ve struggled with similar mental issues myself. So I know that it’s something that’s difficult to overcome, but which you can rise above if you have the right help and support. I hope Clare sticks it out with him … at very least as a good friend.

I found it horrible how Eli, Clare, and Adam seemed forget that Eli POISENED Fitz! Fitz’s reaction was completely justified even if it was a bit extreme. I think Eli owes Fitz an apology personally.

Eli was wrong to poison Fitz, that doesn’t mean Fitz was right to pull a knife on Eli. It means Eli was wrong to poison Fitz AND Fitz was wrong to pull a knife on Eli.
I was sure schools still used the adage “two wrong do not make a right” yet getting this point across seems so difficult.
This isn’t a case of picking sides, it’s easy as all to see Eli and Fitz were both wrong. Now, Eli and Fitz are both right (provided Fitz is ‘on the level’ with his Heel Faith Turn). Fitz has seen the error in his ways (we assume) and is looking for forgiveness as a step toward his recovery to being a member of society. Eli is right to withhold this forgiveness, for the fact that Fitz did a series of horrible things to Eli (Eli in turn did a series of horrible things to Fitz, which might also add to his trouble forgiving).

look, I’m just going to be the devil’s advocate here…i’m an eclare fan, but not a DILUSIONAL eclare fan. It is EXTREMELY creepy the way Eli is acting, but he does have a reason for it, even though he is taking that to the extreme. His girlfriend was killed (something we don’t knows probably gonna come up about that within the next few weeks) and although Fitz wasnt actually going to do it, Eli was still faced with a life or death situation which could make anybody go a little nuts. Eli didnt grow up like Clare; forgiving or trusting someone who (almost) killed you is not going to come easily for him. Just offering a different opinion…although I’m probably going to abandon this defense for him in the next episode seeing him make the “throat cutting” motion. Well that’s…disturbing!

Eli is really off in his behavior. You can really see that he is suffercating clare and acting imature about the situation. He’s taking this way too serious i think. The way he just stood there at his hearse “keeping a look out” is preety creepy, I laughed so hard at that though lol. Bipolar maybe? He definitly has another secret behind his preety little face that makes him act this way. We will have to wait and see! And Kary I dont think the fangirls will ever give it a rest on obsessing over Eli, I bet if he killed someone they will still love him. lol, (lets not hope he does though)

Hey everyone, I just came to say that this will be my last day on this site due to the fact that my call back was successful! I can no longer write on here due to the fact that I will have spoilers and know what is happening behind the scenes that I am legally bound to not give away. I hope you all enjoy watching me in Season 11! I’m very excited and can’t wait to start tomorrow, wish me luck!

considering all we know has happened to eli and what happened between him and fitz im labeling elis behavior as “slightly annoyingly overprotective in a bittersweet way,” like in those renaissance movies where the brave knight will do anything for his fair lady, but cant get through his head she doesnt wanna marry him (i kno weird analogy). near the end of the episode it started getting a tad obssessive, and im sure its gonna reach full blown obsessivness by next episode. as for whether im Camp Eli or Camp Fitz, i dont kno. Honestly, I give the writers credit for not dropping storylines this season. But in the same way, it’s kinda overboard. Like… Fiona’s still drinking? Or… Riley’s still afraid to come out of the closet? I’m excited that her case against Bobby is still going on. I’m really glad they didn’t drop that one.
As for Holly J’s illness… I’ve always wanted to see a cast member die from a sickness. Now, I love Holly J but it would be interesting to see that because Degrassi has never done it.
Another storyline that I’d love to see (that I’ve been waiting for since Season 4) is a kidnapping plot and ever since Season 8, I’ve wanted it to be Alli. She would be the perfect candidate. And I feel like they wouldn’t bring back Johnny without a reason. I definitely don’t think Jalli is reuniting (Alli would be an idiot), but I really can’t shake the feeling that there’s a REASON for Johnny to come back. Like we were all surprised to see Rick come back in Season 4. And they definitely had a reason for that. Just saying.
I think Eli is definitely mentally unstable. He’s slowly dealing with the hoarding, but I feel like that was only the beginning. I’m interested in seeing what happens on the anniversary of Julia’s death.

I din’t think that Jonny and Alli will go to far. Obviously Jonny has changed because from earlier promos we see he’s in college and probably not the sexy badboy Alli had feelings for. They probable wanted to give her a way to face her hellish life and figured it all really started with dating Jonny. By making Alli go back to her she will understand that it was her fault that her life turned out the way it did.
Yes, I agree that Holly J seemed “off” a bit but I think that not a lot of people really noticed it until after reading of her up comming illness. I am glad that they gave Holly J a storyline that (hopefully) doesn’t invovle Sav or Declan. She is a strong actress and can really carry a plot. Plus, the whole love triangle was the only thing she was really invovled in and it was getting kind of boring.
The Fiona/Bobby trial is actually something Im lookjng forward to because as I said in an earlier post, I think that’s when and how they will bring back Fadam.

So i was thinking about the throat-cutting motion (I originally saw it as Eli had GRABBED Clare’s hand and was doing it with hers, which made a WHOLE new level of disturbing for me… but then I saw I had viewed it wrong.)
Teennick likes to mess with us. Honestly? I think he’s just describing his Gothic Tales story to Clare and it’s really dark – maybe paralleling the storyline (haha… having the “eli” character shank the “fitz” character). I think he’s just describing the story, honestly.

Is it just me or do the episodes go by super fast? It feels like it’s only 15 minutes and not a half hour. I know theirs commercials and stuff but still. I’m actually excited for Johhny’s return because when he graduated him and Ali didn’t have any closure. AS for Holly J’s illness i have a few ideas but I doubt any of them could be right. Fiona’s story line is alright i guess but i agree Kary it is getting dragged out. I also think it’s kinda unrealistic that Adam and Fiona would ever be a couple in real life. No offense just saying. But i think Fiona is a lesbian. I hope Jenna and K.C get less screen time. I’m so done with their story line. I can’t wait in till thats finished. I’m also a little annoyed that they’re having four new people for Degrassi. Idk why it’s just once I’m starting to warm up to the new characters they come in and add new ones every single time. Oh well can’t wait for this weeks episode.

I think as long as they do a subtle introduction of the new characters like they did with the new ones this season, it won’t be as obnoxious. That was my main problem with all new additions in season 8 (Alli, KC, Connor, Riley, etc.). They also dropped over 10 highly recognized faces and added like 7 new characters. Total overkill. Four new characters sounds ideal to me.

Charlotte Arnold (Holly J) is confirmed to be in season eleven. She will have an illness, but she will not die. Hopefully the Holly J/Fiona stuff is not a dream. When I first saw the promo of them about to kiss, I thought it was a dream because of the reddish foggy hue in the background, but then I realised that in the same scene, the promo where Fiona says, “you’re beautiful” behind Holly J in the mirror is hued the same, and I don’t think the “you’re beautiful” part is a dream, so therefore I think that it’s all real. Gosh, I hope. And yes, I did notice that Holly J said something about lesbianism, but I think it’s simply in reference to Alli, and all the troubles in her life caused by boys.

I think the degrassi death will be Declan, not Holly J. Declan is on another show now and is no longer going to be in Degrassi and I personally would ball my eyes out if they had some kind of plot of him committing suicide or something because that’s a touchy subject that really hasn’t happened on Degrassi.

Is it just me, or has Holly J been off this WHOLE season. With FIona she seemed so, I dont know… tired? Yeah, thats the word. Then with Anya, also with the tiredness, she seems off. Even though she’s not my favorite character,she is in my top ten, it would be devastating for her to be the one who dies. But, with all that aside, I dont think that she is going to be the one who dies because why would they make it so obvious? Its going to be WAY more suprising.
