So I’ve spent the entire day in an awesome mood, because I woke up to the above tweet from Sam Earle. I was super shocked because it came out of nowhere (it wasn’t him replying, it was just him tweeting me out of the blue).
I’ve always operated under the assumption that none of the cast members know this site even exists…that’s no longer true I guess. And now I have motivation to keep doing the video reviews for the entire duration of The Boiling Point!!
Oh yeah…for those wondering what the song at the end of the video reviews is, it’s the “My Own Step Remix” by T-Pain, but the clip I use is from the end of the Step Up 3-D trailer.

Earlier in the week Melinda Shankar announced that she was leaving Degrassi to film Season 2 of her show, How To Be Indie.
But her time off from the show will only be temporary, she stated: “Yes i’m taking time off of Degrassi to film How to be Indie, but I will most def be back!” We know she’s all throughout The Boiling Point, but because we don’t know exactly where they are in the shooting schedule for the back half of Season 10, there’s no way to tell when her character will stop appearing on the show. Also, I wonder if they’re going to either temporarily write her character off, or if Alli will just randomly disappear for a while.

DEGRASSI’S NEW NEXT GENERATION IS MORE ADDICTIVE THAN EVER
Everyone acknowledges that there’s been a decline in the show for several years (Season 9 was an improvement). Television Without Pity lists reasons why (thanks to Season 10) Degrassi is back in full form. Despite the article completely overhyping the twincest thing, I agree with everything else. I think that is so awesome that Sam Earle tweeted you. Also, I just learned (sorry this isn’t exactly about Degrassi) but Aislinn Paul and Munro Chambers who play Eli and Clare were in a movie together called Murder in the Hamptons. I thought that was kinda cool considering I am a big EClare fan.

That’s Crazy XD they played brother and sister, and now they’ll be playing boyfriend and girlfriend. They seem like very good actors, I can’t wait to see future stuff from them outside of degrassi (but I also can’t wait for this season to be over with so we can know what happens!)

Hahaha oh my God that article about Tackling Transgender/Adam is SO badly written that I honestly couldn’t comprehend it. It’s like the keyboard got stuck on the word “brand” over and over again or something, and all quotes were awkwardly pompous and wordy. Pretty sure it’s a translation or something tho, ’cause instead of gay they said “happy”?

It almost seems as though it was written in another language, and then the author ran it through an online translator. I teach ESL, and that article gave me a greater headache than most of my students’ writing! OY!

btw… that article was TERRIBLE. I couldn’t even get past the 5th paragraph because I had no idea what they were talking about. What’s with the “brand brand brand brand brand brand”?
I think whoever wrote that needs to take another look at it, get a dictionary, and spell check before she posts again. IMO

Another thing I’ve noticed about this season is that the students’ parents and teachers are becoming more involved in storylines. We’re not even halfway through the season yet, and we’ve already seen the Coynes, Mrs. Sinclair, the Edwardses. Mrs. Torres, the Bhandaris (both, for those who’ve seen Monday’s episode), KC’s mom, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing at least one of Anya’s parents. And if Jenna’s got some sort of health issue, we’ll likely be seeing her dad.
Parents this season seem to be acting more like parents–involved in their kids’ lives, as parents SHOULD be! In previous seasons, all of the parents seemed to be cut from the same cloth, and were pretty dull and passive. Now even the parents are developing as characters. We can actually pick out distinct personality traits in Mrs. Torres and Mrs. Coyne, for instance. I think that the more frequent involvement of parents has given the show an extra ounce of realism.

I think I’ve figured it out. If you subtract ‘code’ and ‘brand brand brand brand’, it’s supposed to be ‘brand new. ‘Brand new deteriorate’. ‘Brand new student.’ On the other hand, the article is way too long for all of that, and I am not reading it. Oh and also? Maybe Alli gets temporarily written off somehow in the lockdown at the dance. Because let’s face it. The fact that it’s called The Boiling Point, and Bianca invites Drew into the boiler room is not a coincidence. The actual ‘boiling point’ is in All Falls Down.
