With March Madness right around the corner, I figured why not do our own Degrassi version? Here’s how it works (or how it’s supposed to anyway):
The Degrassi Bracket has 64 characters from the show. Every character has been randomly placed in a position on the bracket, and each one will go up against another character.
Your job will be to vote on every battle for which character you like better. The characters with the most votes will move onto the next round (and so forth) until there’s only one left…THE CHAMPION!
Voting will start on Wednesday 3/17 and end on Sunday 3/28. You’ll have two days to vote on each round. Voting will start at midnight the first day, and end at 10pm on the second day. The winning character will be announced on Monday 3/29. How will you be voting you ask? I’m testing out this poll creating system WordPress has, so hopefully it’ll work (or else this entire thing is screwed haha).
Here’s the voting schedule for each round:
Wed 3/17, Thu 3/18 — 1st Round
Fri 3/19, Sat 3/20 — 2nd round
Sun 3/21, Mon 3/22 — Sweet Sixteen
Tues 3/23, Wed 3/24 — Elite Eight
Thurs 3/25, Fri 3/26 — Final Four
Sat 3/27, Sun 3/28 — Championship
Mon 3/29 — Winner Announced!

GREAT IDEA Kary! i cant wait to play and vote. you should have seeded the characters. like the top 32 most popular. so in the championship there would be a better chance of the top 2 characters to go head to head

Gee, nick, you haven’t been on in a while. Hey, just wonderin’— why DO college kids get, like, a MONTH off for spring break? SO unrational in comparision to ours. Hey, Kary, this is a really neat idea. I can’t believe it’s almost 4 and i’m still up. Well, time to sit back, relax and watch my 2nd favorite show on this channel. Sabrina time!!!

I actually am on this site multiple times a day I just don’t post that much unless I have something I really want to say.
And actually my Spring Break is only 1 week. it’s wicked lame:p But that just means more school then I’ll be out faster so I guess it’s actually a good thing!

Just saw the catfight promo on teennick for the first time in forever. I’m telling you. Aside from the whole rivalry between Fiona and Holly J., her and Alli are going to have a catfight. They wouldn’t just show that for no reason.

So, apparently Bruce, Emma, and Manny are not coming back, which means that neither will kelly and probably not jay. No indication as to Jane’s return(she probably stays in new york), and the same goes for Declan. Although, with Fiona returning to Degrassi, it can be assumed that Declan will as well. I mean, also, he, along with Jenna, has caused the most drama on the show IMO. So, um, what IS march madness??? And are these Snake Flakes real? Because if so, then Murphy wants me some snakes! Lol. But seriously, anything that’s even associated with Degrassi in the slightest bit, I’m down.

March Madness is like the Super Bowl of Basketball except it lasts most of the month. Also to talk about your other post most college students, since I am one, only get a week off for Spring Break. The only time we get a month or more off, not including Summer Vacation, is Winter Break.

Is Johnny coming back? because i was looking at his twitter and there was no sign of him returning back to degrassi. IF that is the case then Jalli really is officially over :(

Um, @TTC, that means nothing. Thing 3? Didn’t I tell you that SoundSpeed messaged me and confirmed that they’re all in season 10??? And also, Miriam already stated that she is taking a break from acting. And, as I said before, Manny(sadly:-( ), along with Bruce(thank god!!!), will not be returning for season 10.

wow, what a great idea, kary! i cant wait to start voting. altho, i think a lot of my votes will be really unpopular. like um, i prefer Ms. Kwan to Jay. and kendra to peter. and angie to eric. but still, this will be really fun! btw, i LOVE the division names!!!!!

I just went through the 4 sections and in Division “Music” my top 2 were Clare vs. Holly J., Clare Won!
In Division “Man Whore” my top two ended up being: Marco vs. Alli, Marco Won!
And between these two Clare wins!
In Division “Eyebrows” the top 2 were: Anya vs. Liberty, Anya Won!
In Division “Ravine” my top 2 were: Riley vs. Ellie, Riley Won!
Riley beats Anya and goes to the finals!
Riley vs. Clare, Riley Wins!
(I doubt the actual tourney will be ANYTHING like mine, but it will be fun to see how different it is!) :D

I’m not sure. I just really enjoy watching his character develop and mature more than most other characters. (I also really like Ellie and Darcy, but overall there are parts about both characters that bother me and so far I haven’t had that yet with Riley).

I spent all of last night working on it and testing it out, and it should work fine. It might look weird on some browsers though. And I figure you might have trouble if you have a slow connection because it might have a hard time loading all 30+ polls, but it should be fine for most of us. Im excited!
