He announced that, as we all know, Season 10 will contain 48 episodes. But those episodes will be broken up into two parts:
*24 episodes over the summer. The first 24 episodes will start after the Degrassi movie, and they’ll be airing a NEW episode on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for six weeks.
*24 episodes on the normal schedule. The final 24 episodes will air like they normally do during fall 2010 and winter/spring 2011.

This is a neat move for both CTV and TeenNick since nothing ever happens during the Summer. My only concern is that with the first 24 episodes coming so soon, they could be rushed quality wise…how awful would that be to have a repeat of say, Season 8, jammed down our throats four times a week for almost two months?
Then again, they could be simply awesome too. Either way, hold onto tight…we’re in store for A LOT of Degrassi over the next 8 months.

This is great! I’m actually pretty excited. I don’t like the long breaks they do, it’s annoying. But let’s hope that it’ll be good, and better than Season 8. But, with Season 9 already MUCH better written quality, I assume that Season 10 will do the same.

I’m so excited I’m freaking out!!!! So I guess that means that the rest of Season 9 comes back on in the US on April 2nd, then a movie early Summer, then Season 10 starts in the Summer right after the movie? Awesome. Time to start freeing up the DVR.

I like that they are showing episodes every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for six weeks(the first 24 episodes). The down side is that they will still have to spread out the other 24 episodes over the school year so there will still probably be a long winter break.

For the Mini Good Times, you see Peter practicing with the band. This wouldn’t make sense to the American fans because Peter hadn’t been let back into the band yet until Episode 9:14 Start Me Up.

Um, wait, none of the parts have aired on TeenNick. And speaking of, I rewatched SchoolGieHyrls and realized 3 things: 1. Too much animation for a live-action so-called movie 2. Nick Cannon IS in it. He plays a lunch lady. I sure hope he doesn’t play her in the show. Now that would be dumb. 3. All that screaming, crying, and yelling from that blonde chick? Not at ALL necessary.

Why will the episodes be so crammed? I would rather just have one a week all year, with one 4 week break. I think 4 in one week is excessive, as much as I love Degrassi. All I can say is that they’d better be good because my summer is about to whiled away in front of Degrassi.

to me its too much, but its still degrassi and i will continue to watch it no matter what, just becaues its day after day doesnt mean its going to get worse.its just like watching one episode from season 9 every day. whats the difference?
and kaylyn if the movie is on a saturday then the episodes wouldnt be the next day.

Yeah that’s sort of my opinion of it…I’m going to watch it no matter what. But having that many episodes a week will definitely amplify the feelings for the episodes…if a string of episodes suck it’s going to seem much worse than if there were just one episode a week. And of course the same can be said if several consecutive episodes are really good too. The quality of the episodes is more important now than ever, and it kind of worries me since the reason they can churn out so many episodes in a soap opera format is because they’re cheap to produce that way.

Oh, Shannon, I wish you would just shut up! And you know what? I’m through with being nice and getting crapped on all at the same time. Yes, this is a Degrassiblog. A blog to voice your opinion on anything involving Degrassi and everything else associated with it. So, yeah. And it’s my favorite show, so I’m sticking with it no matter what. I mean this in the least perverted way possible, but I’d like to see if they actually go there for once when it comes to the sex scenes. I mean, they did it in School’s Out!, and we all know what Degrassi is capable of.

And also, I feel that if they do any changing to the story formula, it should be bringing goodie-goodie characters to the forefront and saying LOOK WHO GOES THERE NOW. And all the hype about the next Degrassi term getting wild combined with the fact that they’ve been saying it’s about to all season, and it’s pretty much already real, I feel like the ONLY reason they came up with IT’S ABOUT to get real was because they were gearing us up for Season 10 all along.

Someone posted on some website, can’t remember which one it was, but they said Breakaway is a song from the 80’s about abuse. So maybe an abusive bf,gf, family member, or teacher!?! So what do you think What a Girl Wants and Breakaway will be about? Also what other teen issues would you like Degrassi to deal with during Season 10?

I think that what a girl wants will focus on a girl trying to find the perfect guy, and finds that it’s a lot harder than she thinks, until she discovers that the boy she wants has been right in front of their eyes all along. I think breakaway should either focus on Alli breaking free from her parents’ ways, or a friendship that is mentally abusive, as they have already done physical abuse twice, and the victim’s inability to focus less on all the memories and more on breaking free.

But all in all, I think that What A Girl Wants will focus on a girl’s inability to realize what they’ve really got, preferably a boy, or their parents, which, if it’s the latter, would take nothing else than death to help them realize the truth. And the title Breakaway, to me, sounds like someone’s trying to pick up the courage to do things the way they want to do, instead of listening to everything that others forcefully push you into. It will probably focus on the struggle to find your inner self, stick up when it’s necessarily, and focus more on your own values in comparison to someone else, rather than strictly what they appear to be. The way they’re making it out, i’m prettz sure they’re gonna try their best to tackle every everyday irsue that they haven’t yet used.

Ooh. A really good storyline idea that would fit the title? Suppose Alli and Johnny get back together. Johnny is content with their newfound public relationship, and, as johnny is now a changed man, or so it seems, she decides to introduce johnny to her parents. When she does, however, they choose to take drastic measures by introducing her to her arranged marriage and kicking johnny out of their house. After he leaves, Alli stands up for herself, but her parents don’t back down, deciding that they won’t give up like they did with sav. To Be Continued…

Then, in part two, alli sneaks johnny in through the window at night, and they decide to have sex again. But when they’re about to, persay, go there, johnny mentions that he thinks they should get married and make a family together. Alli is shocked, and it doesn’t help matters that her parents walk in on them completely naked. They kick johnny out once more, and decide to cut him out of her life completely by transferring her out of degrassi. Furious, she yells at them, saying “i am moving the fuck out!” and deciding to move in with Clare. In the end, Alli tells Johnny no, but says that they can still be together. He is shocked, and, saying that it’s not enough, he leaves, never to be seen again. It’s now that Alli realizes it’s not always about “what a girl wants.”

And, looking at the context, and Danny’s two-sidedness between the mini and the episode which, continuity or not, really doesn’t make all that much sense. It’s like saying You’re everything to me one moment, and Oh! I want you dead! I want you dead so big. Grr!!! The next. But, All-in-All, I feel as if it would make the most sense for Good Times to take place BEFORE start me up.

Well Fiona’s main storyline is Degrassi Takes Manhattan so I don’t think that they would have a movie based heavily on her and start the next season off with her as well. I think that they should start the season off with either Clare or Anya(cause they are the most interesting characters) or one of the new characters. Also I have an idea that no one has thought of. The main character for What A Girl Wants could be a GUY trying to figure out what his friend/girlfriend wants.

Duh, because the show just started…who else would they give the premiere spot to? I’m just saying that if they start it off they should do it with a fan favorite, who will make it good. Fiona and Chantay are okay characters in my book, but i would rather see Holly J, Anya, Alli or Clare with the spot. It took Paige 4 season to get a Premiere spot and shes a fan favorite. Manny had to wait until season 5 to get a premiere, and shes a fan fav as well.
