Degrassi writers discussing potential storylines for Season 10.

Today is a busy day at the Degrassi headquarters, but Stefan took time out of the day to tweet us some behind the scenes pics. The writers have already started on Season 10, and today they’re having more brainstorming sessions. Stefan tweeted that Degrassi’s gonna “get wild” next season, and I surely hope so! They really haven’t had a super GO THERE moment in quite a while.

Someone on twitter asked Stefan when Season 10 will start airing and Stefan’s exact words were “Let’s saaaaay…early summer for season 10.” Now that’s not confirmed by any means, but if CTV’s really going to premiere Season 10 during the SUMMER? I don’t know if I like the sound of that. I mean it could be good because there generally isn’t much competition in the summer…only a few new shows/season premieres occur during that time, but there’s also not as many viewers as their are in the FALL.
We shall see. Also, I want you to check out the photo below. It’s a picture of Brendan Yorke (he’s not only written episodes, he’s also written some of the Degrassi songs and directed episodes), but more importantly check out the wall behind him. Possibly a hint of who’s going to be in Season 10?

I wonder who the 3rd adult is. And I thought Miriam said she was going to take a break from acting??
I wonder why out of all the seniors they get rid of the (IMO) the most interesting one.
I hope Grace and Reese come back(although I highly doubt it:()
I can’t make out what the newbie sophomore looks like because it is so far away…oh well I guess we’ll wait and see!

**OH and Also they could have taken Declan’s picture down because they were talking about him or something(Or at least that’s what I’m hoping!:p)

I agree with “dgrass”, mostly.
The pictures are definitly split up into grades.
Sophomores – The original 6, and a new character.
Juniors – 3 new characters.
Seniors – This one is tough. I recognize all the pics, however isn’t Riley already a Senior? Unless something happens between now and the end of season 9, this doesn’t make sense to me.
Alumni – Looks like Emma, Spinner, and ???
Does anyone else thing Mr. Yorke posed for this pic, to block that last alumni pic on the wall? =/

Well I think originally Riley was ment to be in Sav’s grade(episode 804) but they wanted the whole Piley storyline so the rest of season 8 he was with the seniors. And in season 9 he’s seen hanging out with Juniors(907/908) So I think they pulled a Chantay so he can stay longer:p

It would have been smarter if they had put him with the seniors in some classes because he was advanced in that subject or something. But I’d be really excited if Riley was there another year!!!! XD

I think they put the producer there on purpose and they purposely put the picture like that. In the Junior section the middle pic looks sort of like a Craig pic Ive seen b4 but i doubt they would bring back Craig but its possible since he never finished HS!

Manny and emma better not be in 1 episode and still put in the opening credits, like this season. That was mediocre. Having failed all her college courses, i dont know know where this’ll leave emma next season, but manny is back at degrassi! If you watch closely, in close to me, you can clearly see her walking not only up to, but INTO the schoolbuilding. And HOW can you SEE those pics?

I must have missed a couple of shows or something, can someone fill me in as to how Manny went from college back to Degrassi.Liberty just vanished from the show.
I know emma and manny are more popular than liberty but
at least liberty would have passed her classes.

No, Manny isn’t back at Degrassi. They don’t explain why she walks into Degrassi in Close To Me, but they make it clear she has been and will continue to live in L.A. Plus that would kind of be a MAJOR plothole, the whole showing her graduating from Degrassi in Season 7, then going off to University in Season 8 and then magically becoming a high school student again in Season 9. As far as Liberty goes, all we know is that she “joined a sorority.” lol

I know very well, first of all, if they bring Emma back in season 10 and she is the lead role of the movie THE REST OF MY LIFE why wouldn’t Manny be in season 10? Also, Manny is probably next to Emma or under Spinner! I <3 MANNY and EMMA!!!!!

I bet Manny isn’t back and they’re using her lead role in the movie to gradually take her out. Remember how that happened to Paige and Ellie in the last movie? They each had a lead role and are gone now.

ok, if fiona’s on that wall, it’s SO obvious that declan’s gonna be, and although riley said hes not coming out until AFTER high school, argiris did say that hes not gonna need a coverup after season nine,so…

I don’t think he would want to come out. I would like it a lot better if he was caught with a guy!!! That way there would be all these rumors. Also I doubt they would want him to be all confident when people find out.

I think they’re doing the same thing to Riley as they did to Chantya. She in 1 grade but then they moved her up 1 and then back down!
Riley was seen in Sav’s grade at first but then he has classes with the seniors so they’re probably just moving him back down now. I don’t mind cause that means more Riley!!! Oh and he wasn’t talking about college with Peter, Danny, and Jane.

Alli is smart, and it was probably math or something where your grade doesn’t count as much as how good you are at it. I am a freshman and have math with both sophomores and juniors.

Okay, so i just saw something,and… Kary, do they really show declan and holly j. Having “rough sex” in somebody, with her wailing and him thrusting? Because that just doesnt sound right to me. In the preview, he’s not even on top of her. ITST???

they don’t have “rough sex” or any type of sex at all for that matter. They start kissing and her top gets unbuttoned and that’s it.

I’ve been begging & begging them for a suicide plotline, pretty much the only thing from the original series that they have not replicated… and something that would make the show infinitely more interesting again. Of course they haven’t really set anyone up to BE suicidal… but sometimes it does come out of the blue. Everyone needs to help me tweet Stefan and Stephen about it! It just might work.

Okay so does anyone think that the new sophmore who will be attending degrassi with Alli,Clare,Kc,Jenna,Dave,and Connor could be Johnny’s brother!I mean in Lost in Love Johnny said he was only at Bot Wars because he had niner brother in the competiton! So if he is in the same grade as Alli then he will be a sophmore!Plus Johnny’s gonna be graduating and this could be a way to keep him on the show!I’m probably wrong but idk.

How exactly could they continue to keep Spinner? The only reason he’s still there is because he’s with Jane. He has no storylines whatsoever and is just a background character now. You need to get used to the fact that the older characters have moved on and the new ones are taking over.

I agree. He is a older and background character but in some shows the people go into places like the dot because
that’s the hangout and everybody knows the people who work there. spinner also gives out advice to people who
come in with problems or situations.

I will miss the older people, like Manny and Spin and Jimmy, etc, but hopefully the newbies will grow into their characters like the oldies did. I finally caught the old one where Rick shoots Jimmy after he is tarred and feathered. So sad, I cried like a baby. I live in the States and have to watch them on Teen Nick. I just love this show. I am so totally addicted it is scary. It is my guilty pleasure.

Yes, chantay did fail. They show her as a junior several times. Fitz is the brown-haired guy hanging with bruce, johnny and riley. And both degrassi takes manhattan, and simply D: NYC SUMMER OF LOVE are TENTATIVE working titles, so as of now it could go either way. Yeah. Well… Laterzzz!!!
