[5/21/16] The schedule of Degrassi’s Soma Bhatia just got a little busier as it was announced she’s part of the cast for the upcoming animated movie, The Breadwinner.
According to Animated Magazine, The Breadwinner is “the story of a young girl named Parvana living under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, who must disguise herself as a boy in order to work and support her family when her father is unfairly imprisoned. A story of self-empowerment and imagination in the face of oppression, the film also celebrates the culture, history and beauty of Afghanistan.”
Soma will voice the role of Shauzia. Based off the young adult novel by Deborah Ellis, The Breadwinner will be completed in 2017.
