Degrassi has a chance to continue its domination of the Children’s category at the Canadian Screen Awards, as it was announced they’ve been nominated for 3 more awards this year.

The show’s 3 nominations include:

Degrassi – Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program or Series

Congratulations to the entire Degrassi team for their continued hard work and nominations!!

It’s an understatement to say Degrassi’s had a stranglehold on the Children’s category for the past several years. Degrassi’s won Best Series and Direction for the past 4 years and Best Writing and Performance for the past 3. They won 14 awards out of 19 total nominations from 2013-2016, so we’re expecting them to add another shelf to their awards cabinet at Epitome in 2017.

A few former Degrassians were also nominated for CSAs this year…

*Stephan James (Julian) was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his movie, Race

*Landon Liboiron (Declan Coyne) was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for Frontier

*Evan Williams (Kelly Ashoona) was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Series for Versailles

  2. I mean Degrassi next class is really a huge step up in term of storylines, originality, edgy feel n bravery compared to next generation.. Let’s hope the writers won’t be trapped in the curse of who-date-who-then break up-date again-
