Divorce affects the people involved in the situation in different ways. It can be devastating, especially for children, because they feel like it’s their fault or that they’re being punished for some reason. I’m one of the lucky ones who didn’t feel that way.
For me, my parents separated the summer after I’d graduated from college. They’d been married for 20+ years.
It does kinda suck not having that “home” where the entire family can come together, but I get why it had to happen…in their case they were better off not being together forever, despite decades of time invested in loving each other through thick and thin.
