    1. Brief thoughts for the next set of episodes:
      1. I hope Miles sticks around because it’s clear Hunter needs him
      2. Frankie has shown signs of depression this season, and with the mental illness her siblings have dealt with, it wouldn’t be a stretch that she has one of her own.
      3. I think Zig might have gotten Zoe pregnant. She said she was sick early in the day, and at the dance, we saw her come out of the bathroom stall. And it has apparently been weeks since her and Zig hooked up. Zig claimed it was a kiss, but I’m pretty sure Zoe revealed to Maya that it was more.

  2. This episode… Just wow. 100% the best episode since Time Stands Still and Bittersweet Symphony. Every performance was incredible. Spencer will be nominated for tons of awards for his portrayal in this episode, and I’m almost 100% positive that season Degrassi will finally walk away with that Emmy. Just hands down exceptional. Had me in tears.

  3. This episode was insane! The brotherly love between Miles and Hunter was beautiful and moving and I will admit to being incredibly scared the entire time. I kind of felt like they wouldn’t go with another shooting simply for the time constraint but the reveal of Hunter having the gun broke my heart in a million pieces.
The other storylines were strong too, Maya finally dumping Zig and forgiving Grace was great.
I loved the scenes between Frankie, Shay and Lola especially the one with the reindeer cutouts that was a great visual gag. I’m on board with Frankie’s relationship with Jonah and I love how they keep misunderstanding one another, it seems pretty natural to me.

Next Class as been stellar and I will admit that 10 episodes like that are much better then 48 with a bunch of filler plots and recycled drama. The writing is stronger, the cinematography is stronger, even the acting in the most important places is stronger. It wasn’t perfect obviously but it really made me fall in love with Degrassi in a way I havent been in years. I really hope the show is a success and we can see these characters grow even more (beyond the other 10 annouced episodes). I am anxiously awaiting your reviews Kary to see what you thought of these episodes.

    1. I don’t believe so, I think he’s gonna stick around because he’s worried about Hunter. It would make sense with how the story is progressing and probably how Miles will have to keep Hunter’s secret about the gun while wanting his brother to feel better or something like that.

    2. I’m wondering the same thing too but when I watched the principles office on #sorrynotsorry Stefan said “will miles tell anyone that hunter had the gun” made me think he’s coming back also hunter really needs him emotionally

  5. This is definitely one of the better seasons of Degrassi I’ve ever seen. I thought the feminism stuff was a bit one-sided/poorly done, but other than that, I thought this season was probably a top 5 season of the show.

  6. i alway knew that hunter can be the next rick murry. i like that have huters get to point that rick did. but in this case he has someone to save him from himself. yes rick did have one friend but toby didnt knew that what rick was planing but then aging if toby did knew i dont think toby could have save rick. though paige almost save rick and she will never know how close was to getting shoot there. like the kids at the school may never know how close hunter was to using that gun. but any way the diffent here hunter have miles. his brother and they do have a brotherhood and a brotherhood (or sisterhood) is stronger then a friendship. you dont have be blood to have a brotherhood (sisterhood or be same sex) but that why i dont think toby could have save rick they just have a friendship that can be easy broken but a brotherhood is life even if you or mad each other or hate each when you have brotherhood you will alway be there for them.

  8. It was heartwarming to see Hunter and Miles share a brotherly hug. Hunter is probably thinking “what have i done? Now I have no friends” or he could be thinking “Yael , Vijay and Baaz hate me, which they should, I mean..I hate me”

  9. I’m only a few minutes into the episode and once again I am royally pissed! This isn’t the first time maya has been cyber harrased and once again! DOES NOT PRESS CHARGES. I’ve said before with zoe this is abuse and even psychological warfare and once again the he abuser gets a slap ! Like the crime was like shoplifting! I dont know if it is a Canadian dollar hing but these people (and zoe) made maya feel unsafe IN HER OWN HOME! AND DEGRASSI KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT Psychological TORTURE they should know that can’t be solved community service. If you want to send a message th at this is really ‘Not okay’ press charges! Show them that their actions having consequences and that this is A Crime! That becuase she didnt get hurt physically doesnt make it any less egregious. But like a said I havent finished the episode and might have to make a edit when i’m done. That being said Hunter needs counselling and angerment management, like all his siblings. He cant even see thqt he’s become the thing he hates and he’s basically proven the regressive feminists right.

  10. Honestly I kind stopped watching degrassi after the whole drew and clare thing. Then saw this on Netflix not expecting much…holy schnikes blew my expectations right out of the water! Simply amazing! Not quite shipping Jonah/Frankie yet but not totally hating it at the same time. Absolutely can’t wait to see what’s next!

  11. Been a fan since 2002, but I will say the whole mentally ill white male mass shooter thing is a dialogue that needs to change. Smh if only minorities (who statistically don’t commit these horrendous crimes) could be treated that way. I would love to see Degrassi tackle black live matter.
