Wtf Clare is popular enough to run for stuent body president all of a sudden?

You don’t have to be popular to run for student body president. Most normally it IS a popularity contest but that means nothing. Remember s4? Alex was so FAR from popular but she ran. She lost to Marco but she could have won. People liked her, that didn’t make her popular.
And I certainly wouldn’t call her a Mary-Sue. I don’t think she’s like one at all. That doesn’t mean Clare is my favorite person, but she’s certainly not Mary-Sue. In fact, I don’t really think Degrassi has had any Mary-Sue’s. They all have so many faults and their times at the bottom. Of course, there are a lot of different types of mary-sues but still. Clare one? No, I don’t think so.

Clare is a total Mary Sue. She’s constantly touted as this amazing, beautiful person and she has a ridiculous amount of guys interested in her. Also, one of the hallmarks of a Mary Sue is unique eyes. Clare’s eyes aren’t unique, bur for some reason, everybody makes a huge deal over them. Have these characters never seen blue eyes before?
There are actually different types of Mary Sues. Two examples on Degrassi in the past have been Emma, the Jerk Sue (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JerkSue) and Mia, the Canon Sue (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CanonSue). Clare is a Purity Sue (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PuritySue).

Remember when LIBERTY became president? It’s been obvious since season 8 that if Clare was still on the show by the time she was a senior that she’d be one of the candidates.

I have a feeling that this student president election will make up for the mediocre one in Season 11. The fact that the election is between Drew and Clare makes it interesting since these two characters have not had much interaction on Degrassi. The writers even addressed that in the episode “Sabotage.”

I love Clare but why? Why? Why? Does she always have to make a dramatic scene in the middle of public

Clare is the new Emma. They don’t understand that their ÕPINION is not as important to everyone else as it is to them. Right or wrong they act very impulsive as if there are not any consequences for their own actions
