Tonight is Degrassi’s 300th episode (and the 400th episode of the Degrassi franchise, including Degrassi Junior High and Kids Of Degrassi Street). It’s now the longest-running Canadian drama ever, which is absolutely remarkable. Airing 40 or so episodes per season the last few years have helped them reach that mark quicker, but switching to the current format is the by far one of the best moves they’ve made (remember when we were all worried that Degrassi was on its last legs?). Because of how successful the telenovelas have been I kind of wish that format would bleed over into fall and spring…they’d hit that elite 500 episode mark in no time!
Tonight’s plots are interesting. People wanting a plot involving Mo? Well here you go…though it’s funny seeing Marisol think Mo is shooting up crack or something, I like that they’re addressing the real topic at hand (I’m trying to keep it spoiler free for those who don’t know…for now). I’m also liking this idea of showing how Maya’s self esteem is taking hits from multiple aspects of her life at once. And of course, the writers said that 12B would feature a lot of Adam and they’ve kept their word. A majority of Adam’s existence has been based around him either 1) being a support character, or 2) getting his heart stomped on by a girl. I can’t wait to see him tackle trying to join the volleyball team.

I have to play hockey tonight so I’ll use those emotions to my advantage. Already preppin’ to drop the mitts.
Have a feeling I’m going to enjoy all 3 plots very much tonight, even if my head hurts.

okay…1.) Cam has serious communication issues and thats why he lost maya 2.) i feel bad for maya for feeling insecure (mostly cam’s fault). 3.) the pageant isnt a good idea and stealing zig from tori is low especially for her 4.) im starting to like them as a couple though 5.) why is it that girls cant just comfront their boyfriends aboout their secret? marisol shouldnt have snooped obviously 6.) i also feel bad that adam wants to do sports, but cant ask his mom since she feels like she drove drew away. (but i like that we see the sensitive side of her this time)
The next thing i want to say is about the new “degrassi moment”. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT EPISODE BECAUSE DALLAS RAPPING A APOLOGY TO CLARE SO HE CAN GET THE TICKET TO JZ WAS FREAKEN HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! i just hope eli doesnt get jealous. its even funnier that even clare looked like she was trying not to laugh

one more thing, its perfectly understandable that Mo is hidding the fact that he has diabetes. Also i know this sounds bad but i kind off thought it was funny that marisol automatically thought drugs

Broke my hand in a fight tonight, broke two sticks, and Maybell broke up. I’m happy with only one of those breakages. But it’ll be temporary, I’m sure… I’ll just break my other hand when they get back together.

This episode does a good job of setting up the Maya/Zig kiss that’s coming. Maya’s insecurity about her sex appeal and Zig’s kindness-a facet of him we haven’t really seen before-makes it understandable though not excusable.
Cam’s mental health issues haven’t gone anywhere and may be at least a partial explanation for his lack of interest in romance.
Loved the Adam-Audra scene and Tristan helping with the makeover in the girls batheroom.
The clues were there that Mo is going to be diabetic. As a diabetic myself, I’ll be interested to see how it’s handled.
Very solid episode, looking forward to Part 2.

I’m gonna go ahead and call Mo being type 1 diabetic. My girlfriend is type 1 and he shows all the signs. The cookie was the give away.

MARISOL IS A DUMBASS!!! sorry had to get that out there but i seen needles like that and i know diabetics its definitely insulin…Campbell needs to get over himself his problems are going to cause his character to go downhill if they linger too long and Dallas keep it up

Honestly, I love Marisol, but my dad was diabetic and I’m hypoglycemic myself, so I couldn’t help rolling my eyes at her. He has a syringe in his bag and doesn’t want her filling out a medical form…must be a drug addict?? Come on now.
On the other side of the Degrassiverse, I’m really disappointed that Maya will try to steal Zig away. Originally I totally wanted them together (when they started on the show), but I’ve grown to love Tori and Zig as a couple and I’m not looking forward to the inevitable trainwreck.

This episode was a bit better than the last two. That is majorly in part of the niners and especially Maya. She really brought me back to the old Degrassi days with Emma in a way (but much less annoying than Emma was).
Loved Maya’s plot. She threw everything she could at Cam to get him to pay attention to her and he basically acted like a dumb guy and paid her no mind. So he deserved to lose her, because he did not appreciate what he had. I love Tori and Tristan as friends, but Tori is a head bitch in the making. The only difference is that Tori has two sides to her and they tend to blend and cause a little confusion. Zig and Maya need to happen. Zaya <3 I love how alternative Maya is. She's not a bs kind of girl. She's ballsy. Maya's probably my favorite character now.
Marisol is a dumbass. Since when do drug needles have orange caps on them? I mean really? The cookie. Mo's mood changes. Fatigue. How could she not tell he was a diabetic. I can't even begin to see how she made it to her senior year. Did she never have a health class? Ugh. Enough on Marisol. I love that they are finally tackling a newer next generation topic with diabetes. I can't wait to see how this pans out and I really like Mo as a character I'm interested.
Lastly, I am so happy we are finally getting more Adam. I also love that sports are back in focus a little bit. This storyline had a lot of potential, but they some how find any reason they can to make a Torres family story all about effing Drew. I hate Drew. He's a terrible character and now he's interfering with Adam's storyline indirectly. Have they not heard the tireless cries from fans about how we don't want to see anymore Drew. I feel like this is headed into Craig overload status. Hell, it's past that. Anyway, I'm excited to see how things with Adam end up.

Kary, have you seen Cristine Prosperi, Munro Chambers, & Luke Bilyk’s interview on ClevverTv on YouTube. They said something never done in Degrassi history will happen and its VERY shocking. ClevverTV also just recenty has an interview with Alex Steele. She said the same. If you didnt see them, search “degrassi clevvertv” on YouTube and both of their interviews will come up!

In the interview with Alex she said its more devastating. I think it has to with either Cam or Adam.. I know fans are thinking suicide but I think its emotionally deeper. It was also hinted its happened before the return of Degrassi The Next Generation. So thats why fans are thing ing of Claude’s suicide in Degrassi High or Wheel’s drunken car crash that killed a 2 year old child and his friend Lucy blinded & crippled her.

Fiona’s loft will be getting broken into in Karma Police, and she will be assaulted. That’s new for Degrassi. Maybe that’s what they’re talking about?

I agree with everyone else that Marisol is incredibly dense. I live in the states, so I’m not sure if Health is a required class in Canada, but how could she not realize Mo has diabetes? That being said, she’s twice as dumb because she KEPT his insulin. Maybe that’s just his emergency syringe, but I feel like it could be a future plot where he needs his insulin and can’t find it because Marisol took it, possibly leading to him being carted off to the hospital or something.
Also, I hope we see things from Cam’s perspective soon because I have bad communication skills like him and would love to see how he copes with it. Especially with Tristan, Tori, and Zig basically telling Maya she could do better.

Didn’t Marisol only take the syringe? The actual insulin would be in a vial since doesn’t use an insulin pen and likely has several of these syringes because each can only be used once. Mo could get hospitalized for low blood sugar (which can be resolved by eating as he did in that episode). Insulin is used to bring down the blood sugar and isn’t as life threatening.

My mother has diabetes and has fainted (and sustained injuries from falling into or onto things) multiple times due to low blood sugar.
I was speculating on the possibilty that he doesn’t realize his syringe is gone and doesn’t have spares with him. I’m not saying it’s life threatening, but I’m saying that it could be a new plot where something such as this happens or he passes out and no one knows what happened (because he’s kept his diabetes a secret) resulting in him needing medical assistance.
Just speculation. Probably won’t happen, but who knows.

Mo likely will be confused and maybe panicked on where his syringe went like most of us are when we think we misplaced or had something stolen from us. I would’ve liked Marisol to have found the vial alongside it because it’s rather annoying that the writers chose to be more dramatic in introducing Mo’s diabetes when Marisol is a smart girl. Of course those that don’t work in the medical field or have someone that know that’s diabetic could be clueless like Marisol so I guess that’s the point was.
It would be a good plot line for Mo to pass out and for the truth to come out. Of course, Marisol likely will feel bad, foolish, and also angry about such an important thing being kept from her. I don’t see Mo telling her otherwise when he really should for his safety and her peace of mind because it’s a bit less scary when you know what the cause of someone passing out.

It’s was obvious that Mo had diabetes as soon as she pulled out the needle with the orange cap. My sister has diabetes and sometimes shows the same symptoms as Mo did (by the way, being fat =/= diabetes, my sister weighs 102 pounds and is rather skinny).
Once again I really enjoyed the niner’s plot. Cam has serious communication issues and imodeserved to have an eye opener of how he was coming off to people. I really think Cam has an underlying problem beyond his control though, but no one realises it, not even Cam himself. It’s pretty sad for everyone involved in this plot. Cam neglects Maya and in turn looses her, Maya feels bad about herself and goes to Zig, Tori looses Zig to Maya, and Zig just trying to help out a friend lets things go too far and in may loose a friend (and girlfriend) in Tori.
I still really enjoy the chemistry the niners have. They are closer than most characters on the show at the moment and it’s refreshing. Also, I had such a moment of nostalgia when Tori was in the pagent. She looked so much like Manny in the episode (more than usual anyways).
Adam’s plotline is sad as well, all he wants to do is play volleyball with the rest of the guys, but due to Drew’s mistakes and actions Audra is over protective of Adam. It’s frustrating to see Adam suffer due to Drew, but still remain so humble. I think something bad is going to happen to Adam due to the constant foreshadowing and lines of “Stay safe”, “Be careful”, and etc.

The niners again delivered a great story and I can’t wait to see them get some love triangle drama soon. I agree with what some others have said: I really want to delve deeper into Cam’s story. We got a glimpse of it with his homesickness, but I feel like he has the potential to be a really complex character and I’d love to see that (for that matter…WHO IS MIKE DALLAS?!?!?!).
Marisol was so great as a villainous character…but now I feel like her character’s devolved by getting “nice.” Not that it’s a bad thing to have her grow up and realize that it’s not okay to be a bitch to everyone, it’s just really unfortunate that it was decided that nice=boring and dumb. I do want to see how they’re going to reveal Mo’s diabetes to her, though. Hopefully it will be a wake up call that she’s acting like an idiot.
Finally, a rant: How hard is it to somewhat accurately portray volleyball? I’ve seen so many movies and TV shows just totally screw it up. As someone who’s spent 15 years playing and coaching, I can’t stand how the volleyball team looks exactly like the people playing in gym class…and everyone’s 5’2″ and reaches almost 10 ft. on their jump. The net that Adam would be playing on is 8 ft tall…sorry, but with his height and “practicing for a couple weeks” there’s NO way he could reach that high over the net…also he touched the net, which is illegal. I swear if there’s a storyline where they make it to the championships with that team I’m going to throw a fit.
Sorry, rant over. Outside of that personal pet peeve, I would really enjoy the trans kid on the team story. It could be done really, really well.

I think 99% that Mo is diabetic but one thing that Degrassi has not had was a real drug dealer in school. I know Bianca as one for a bit but I’m talking about narcodics, heroin, meth, cocaine and so on. I know its a long shot. It would be shocking if it was Jake & Mo.
