Over the past couple of months we’ve endured quite a few changes to Degrassi’s Season 12 summer block. First it was a 5-week telenovela that premiered on Monday, July 9th. Then it turned into a 4-week telenovela that premiered on Monday, July 9th.
The latest update is that it’s a 4-week telenovela that will premiere on Monday, July 16th.
The format is the same: episodes will be Monday through Thursday each week, with the finale falling on Thursday, August 9th. This date isn’t shocking because it falls right in line with the Season 10 and 11 premieres happening in the middle of July. And pushing it back a week means the summer block isn’t basically wrapped up in July, which would’ve felt weird with previous telenovelas having ended in early September. I don’t care when the actual date is, but the frustrating part is that some of us may or may not be planning our first ever trip to Canada this summer…so if they can nail down the official date and tell us as soon as possible that would be most appreciated. Leggo!
Based on the new tentative premiere date, here’s what the episode schedule would look like for the summer block:

Tuesday July 17th: Ep 1202 – Come As You Are Pt. 2
Wednesday July 18th: Ep 1203 – Walking On Broken Glass Pt. 1

Monday July 23rd: Ep 1205 – Got Your Money Pt. 1
Tuesday July 24th: Ep 1206 – Got Your Money Pt. 2
Wednesday July 25th: Ep 1207 – Say It Aint So Pt. 1
Thursday July 26th: Ep 1208 – Say It Aint So Pt. 2
WEEK 3
Monday July 30th: Ep 1209 – Closer To Free Pt. 1
Tuesday July 31st: Ep 1210 – Closer To Free Pt. 2
Wednesday August 1st: Ep 1211 – Waterfalls Pt. 1
Thursday August 2nd: Ep 1212 – Waterfalls Pt. 2
WEEK 4
Monday August 6th: Ep 1213 — Rusty Cage Pt. 1

Agreed. Some of my friends and I are planning on going to Canada for the premiere, but we need to know the official date so we can book the flights and ask for time off of work.

With 24 episodes leftover episodes leftover, it’s highly possible we could get a fall block of 10-12 episodes. So it’s safe to say that either they’ll air those episodes from October-December this time around or we’ll get an earlier start and they kick off in September. Another cool thing is that they keep the standard 8 episodes for the fall block, the final block of the season could start up toward the end of January. This shorter telenovela gives them so many options for the other two blocks.
