Am I the only one who feels that Imogen’s character is basically a parody of the batshit crazy Eli fangirls? I don’t think that her character as it is now really jives with who she was intended to be. She was conceived as a “normal” girl who went out of her way to seem interesting. I’m not getting that impression with her character as she is portrayed on the show. The girl’s a friggin’ stalker for crying out loud. I don’t believe that she is “normal” at all. Her raison d’etre is Eli.
Imogen is blindly devoted to Eli, justifies his erratic behavior by blaming it on Clare, and stalks him. Even her look is a very superficial borrowing of Eli’s look, like those girls who buy studded wristbands at Claire’s and call themselves hardcore punks.
Her behavior just seems weirdly like that of the girls on YouTube who lionize Eli, and condemn Clare/Aislinn to the lowest circle of hell.

I thought of that as well. And I’m wondering if the writers and the creators of this character are aware of that, or even if it was intentional. I thought that the Eli fangirls would LOVE her, and I guess they do, but the EClare fangirls are going bonkers because she’s driving them further and further apart.

No, you’re not the only one. Sometimes I think the writers made an Eli fangirl into a real character to show Degrassi’s fangirls that being creepy and stalkerish is not exactly something to be proud of, haha.
I’m still creeped out by the fact Imogen practically wore the same jacket as Eli’s in the alley…

Yep, I do. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Clare in previous seasons, but now? Jeeeez, she’s so annoying! She’s overreacting! Like… all the time. The whole thing with Katie… Not to mention Eli-stuff. Even Imogen, who’s a total psycho and Eli (btw. I love him) seem more normal than Clare.

Yeeah…Eli has completely lost it. I feel bad for Clare…if I had one of my ex’s come to my face and pretty much say “I don’t give a flying crap about you anymore; I don’t want anything to do with you” and tells me that hes writing a play based on our previous love life, I’d be crying my eyes out. Not to mention, its pretty unhealthy to not be on medication that you were prescribed by a doctor. He seems more crazy without them then he ever was before he even took them! AlI I have to say is: beware fangirls…Eli is a boat load of crazy now. I can see the coo-coo birds flying around his head and the spirals in his eyes…..AND Imogen is not helping.
