Eli’s got professional help handling the pressure of writing the school play, but there are no miracles. Will a new heroine save the day?
By the time Drop The World was over, I was burned out over the whole EClare thing. But I’m intrigued to see how things will pan out now that two new elements have been introduced (Imogen and Jake).

Im making Eli the #1 spot holder for reasons not to go off your meds( smashing the school’s cpu has got to be worth a suspension and the rest of the yr in ms suave’s office).
#2 is spinner(for puking on ms kwan after chemo) and craig in the #3 spot(running way and getting your awesomely cool and highly expensive guitar stolen by a guy named skinny)

I just don’t like imogen in general. I don’t care if she gets in the way. Her character seems to be already in love with Eli before meeting him. In the last episode she kinda exclaimed Fiona’s point of Eli being the best writer. Which means it’s obvious she has a crush on him already. From what I heard about her personality through blogs she is extremely fake. She fakes injuries for attention. I just don’t like people like that.

Then Imogen should be a perfect match for Eli, they go to extremes to get/keep people’s attention…difference is, Eli is mentally unstable and Imogen just wants attention (as far as we know from the character description, there can be much more to her than meets the eye)

I loved seeing Zane and Riley tonight, but I really don’t know why Riley had to lie to Zane. Zane understands his mom isn’t taking his coming out easy and if he told Zane about the set up, he would have totally understood. It was such a lame, over-sued plot device for Zane to tread Riley’s text message. How many times has this show done that already?
KC is a really horrible father and even worse boyfriend. He really just bounces from girl to girl the first time a problem comes up in the relationship.
It needs to be mentioned again how awesome Imogen is. I really have no idea what makes her tick, but I think that’s why I like her already.

I agree with what you said about Zane and Riley. And it seems very put of Zane’s nature to go through Riley’s phone like that.
I actually liked the whole KC/Marisol/Jenna plot tonight. Marisol seemed to have added some depth to the whole Kenna baby blues.

Imogen’s dive was the best part. I thought she was diving to literally cover up the computer so I was laughing my ass off when she ‘missed’ and laughed even harder at her real cover up. :)

What she did could be labeled as that, but as one commenter pointed out, Eli could’ve been suspended for a long time if caught. Imogen was Curt Schilling-esque: stepping up with a bloody bodypart as the consequence.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this above, but has Degrassi always had a climbing wall? Now that is hardcore. I think we had a climbing rope, but that’s about it.

Okay Imogen is so crazy,weird,know a lot about Eli, but her character is so refreshing. Elis face after she jumped on the floor and at the locker was WTF!?. Hahah she is refreshing I kinda like her but after seeing the promo for the next episide idk.

Ugh, so far, this is the most definitive proof that Imogeli is happening… However, after my rage passed, I realized that this could actually just be a kiss for the play, the version that will be based on Eclare. Notice how Imogen is rocking Clare’s look, with the hair and Clare’s dress from Vegas Night?

Technically, its not proof of elmogen just because shes dressed up as clare in that scene and i think was trying to ‘help’ eli, which means kissing him while she is pretending to be clare to let eli’s imagination run off, and who knows maybe she’ll stop after a second and try to make him hate clare by slapping him? haha its degrassi, anything can happen.

I liked Imogen I think she is really funny and I find her interesting to watch I am so stoaked to see how they develop her character throughout the season. HOWEVER, that being said she is UBER manipulative and almost taking advantage of Eli when he is in this weird “scrambled” state. I think she is one to look out for.

The interview basically talks about eClare and Cake and stuff like that and how each relationship it going to play out. From what I get from the interview I think that eclare fans are looking at a truce between Clare and Eli but I REALLY doubt if they will be getting back together. I also don’t think things will go anywhere with Jake and Clare though because Aislinn says that she wants Clare to just focus on herself and not boys because she feels Clare has become OBSESSED with boys (its funny and Ali and Clare have really switched roles eh?)
So I think that at the end of Now or Never we will be looking at a single Clare WHICH might not be a bad thing.

Sounds like they are reverting back to the two Riley’s theory. One step forward, two steps back. I feel almost like there was no reason to keep Riley around if they really won’t progress his character.

Good episode. I don’t ship couples and I’m usually not interested in Eclare, but I think I will be now that they are seperated. I enjoyed LoveGame as equally as their plot here. Imogen diving was hilarious and I fell in love with her on the spot. Then her at the end saying Eli punched her and Adam is like “That woman is psycho…” I LOVED that.. That’s funny stuff right there.. Like Connors plot in WMAA and Idioteque – it was funny, my brother and I were laughing throughout, that’s good stuff.
Not surprised about KC’s bad parenting once again. I really don’t like KC as a character.
I don’t like Riley either. I’m burnt out on his sexuality plot.. Beat It was a good episode revolving around his sexuality but this is ridiculous – 68 episodes since Beat It and it’s been going nowhere. They have to wrap him up already, he should have been long done with this plot back in Season 10..

I agree with you about Riley. Why his his sexuality the only storyline the writers care to write for him? I realize it’s a large part of who he is, but not every plot needs to be based about him coming out to the school, to his parents, etc. If we go back to Marco, after a while he had more to do than just being gay. I don’t know why they pigeon-hole Riley (and Zane) into these same repetitive plots for the 10 minutes they get a season.
There are a million other stories they could get them involved with, but the writers only seem to care to focus on a very small subsection of their characters, while characters like Riley and Zane get scraps.

I’ve withheld my judgment on Imogen for as long as I could, but from what I’ve seen and read of her character so far, I cannot stop myself from saying that I cannot stand her. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but that’s okay, haha. She’s either made me cringe every time she’s on screen or she makes my blood boil. I really, REALLY hope Imogen redeems herself to me in the future because I don’t think I’ve loathed a female character this much since Jenna was first introduced haha. After all, Manny did become my favorite female Degrassi character of all time after years of me hating her… At least Imogen’s initially more interesting and entertaining than Jenna ever was.
It actually kills me knowing Eli’s going to make things much worse for himself before things get better. It hits home way too much. Kudos to the writers for giving Eli’s storyline true poignance so far.
As much as it kills me to say this, I honestly think Ziley is going to end. Even though their story lines have become boring (I actually FORGOT about this subplot for a second because it was so forgettable), I still loved them. Just from this episode, I’m getting a bad feeling that right now, Riley doesn’t think having a boyfriend is worth losing his family over. He’ll end it, thinking that he only has to endure a few months of faking straight until he can be free. Of course Zane wouldn’t approve, which is why I think Riley’s trying to avoid the situation because he wants to keep Zane for as long as possible.
Is it bad that I think Marisol and K.C. have more chemistry than Jenna and K.C…? K.C.’s undeniably still a dick, but at least this time I didn’t cringe watching K.C. get his flirt on with another woman the second time around.

I like Imogen. Just not with Eli. She seems like an interesting character, and I adore her weirdness, but I dont like the apparent bad influence she has on Eli. I really can’t stand Mama Stavros. She’s worse than Mama Torres. KC….. I have no words for this boy anymore. Oh and one more thing. The Dot>Little Miss Steaks.

Imogen seems a little odd. What’s with her hanging around Eli all the time– like when he was trying to write? She was totally creeping on his ass! I did find the “nose dive” utterly hysterical and Eli’s face was pure comedy. I also loved her snarky comeback about the bloody nose and how they tied in the whole “Adam/ Tampon/ Nosebleed” thing from the Boiling Point. Kudos on writing there.
However, I am a little concerned about her motives (or at least the motives portrayed in the promo) where Eli is concerned. It seems like her goal is to destroy his perception of Clare, which is weird in itself. Yes, Eli needs to get over Clare but demeaning her part in their relationship is not the way to do it. Everyone that plays into our lives has a purpose. Forgetting them is basically like forgetting a part of ourselves because, whether we want to admit it or not, that relationship had a direct affect on who we are today. Our interactions help us to fine tune who we are individually. I wonder why Imogen has it out for Clare…or perhaps I should ask why Imogen is so irrationally focused on Eli. If she IS stalking him, it makes sense that she would want Clare out of the picture and would do anything to make that happen– even endanger Eli. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

I don’t even like Eclare, but Imogen’s over-the-top personality is so, so unbearably grating that I was better entertained by KC’s baby drama subplot, of all things. It’s like the worst parts of Ellie, Craig, and pre-breakdown Rick mashed into one.

I initially hated Eli, but now I like him. He’s crazy like Craig and his outbreaks make me laugh. The computer thing was hilarious.
As someone who used to be on anti-anxiety meds, the loss of concentration can be a bitch. I started taking them my second semester of senior year of college and couldn’t study for the life of me. My study curriculum consisted of watching TV and drinking, so I can see where my dude Eli is coming from.

I think Imogen is intriguing to watch. I don’t particularly like or dislike her. The nosedive scene did make me laugh my ass off and it’s very difficult to make me even chuckle. Eli’s reaction was hilarious too.
Even though I expected him to lose his marbles in this episode like he did in DTW or something, I’m glad that he only destroyed the computer (I say that like it’s such a small thing, lol). He is still taking medication, after all.
In the promo, it looks like he’s going to be turning into a anxious fidgety heartbroken mess once he’s off. I’m excited for that. I’m also excited for the little role-playing scene Imogen will transpire. Looks interesting.
I’m still a fan of Munro Chambers’ acting. I may be the only one, lol. I just believe everything he does. That smile Eli gave Clare in the beginning after agreeing to do the article for the paper broke my heart. And the scene in the recording studio where he stumbled away was really good too. I actually felt sorry for him, which is something I thought I’d never say in the boiling point. The writers have really done a good job with this character, I must say.
Also, I love Eli and Adam’s chemistry. It’s perfect. :D
The Ziley plot bored me, even though I do love both of their characters.
Oh my God, KC. You’re so hot, but you’re such an ass. I can understand how it’d be difficult for a teenage boy to buckle down and be there for his girlfriend and son, but jeeze. Can he do anything right? Marisol was fun and flirty. So far, she’s not acting like a boyfriend-stealing bitch (like Jenna was to Klare, lol).
All in all, I liked this episode. It’s nice seeing Eli away from Clare for a change. :|
