on a (mostly completely) unrelated note, for those of you who miss the snark of the now-defunct Boycott the Caf, I must send you over to thedairiburger.com … and if you grew up reading the Sweet Valley series, as I did, you will LOVE it fiercely. The girl who runs it is just as hilarious as the BTC people. Though Degrassi has much much MUCH more merit than Sweet Valley (not counting S. 8 & 9), and SV is basically a walking target for snark, it’s still worth a check out.

Ok that was pretty mean… Just becuz someone isn’t the most attractive dosent mean that they can’t be liked by alot of ppl. If I was a guy in this show I wud much rather be with someone like Clare who wasn’t going to juj me on looks who I cud also trust unlike someone like Bianca who may be pretty but is the biggest bitch to walk the planet who wud leave u in 2 seconds. If you have relationships just based on looks, well, ur gonna have a pretty hard time finding a good 1…..

@Jasmin Imogen is supposed to look like Clare in this promo, I’m certain of it. Isn’t she the one who is going to manipulate people so she can fit in or something of the sort? Besides, of course Eli will want someone who looks like Clare – the girl he is obviously not over since he just crashed his fucking car for her.

Kind off topic, but I think I read that they were only half way through shooting Now or Never? So does that mean since we already have a graduation pic that maybe the graduation happens before the final episode?

seniors will graduate at the end of the summer part of season 11, which is halfway thorugh the season. this does not, however, mean that the seniors will be off the show.

Yeah I figured that. But I wasn’t sure how far into the summer that the actual graduation episode was. I assumed it was the final episode “Dead and Gone” but now I’m not sure.

Alright I need to vent. Sav is such a jerk! I just watched the episodes where he makes Anya take the morning after pill. Who does he think he is? I don’t care if he was super sweet to her when he thought she was pregnant. Am I the only one who thinks that? I mean, I’d love for them to get back together, but I really hope she makes him work for it. Really really hard. Especially after the whole him and Holly J thing. Why is she even still friends with Holly J? What kind of friend would date your ex even if you weren’t very good friends at the time? Besides, what Holly J did to him was worse than what Anya did, but he still forgave her. Arrg this whole thing makes me sooo mad!

I’ve been watching old Boiling Point episodes and remembering how addicted and sucked in I was last summer. 6 weeks of four episodes a week!!! I had some serious withdrawls after it was gone lol.
I’m excited but I know 7 weeks is going to equal me with Degrassi on my mind 24/7.

This is really exciting. Loved the promo, and the new characters are awesome. Can’t wait for Anya’s plotlines and hot new girl Katie. And that guy with the gun. Jake also seems to be more suitable for Clare than Eli… Who knows.
But wait! Riley’s missing from the promo. And all I can say is, THANK GOODNESS. I’m seriously done with how all his plots are always about his sexuality, it just looks really one-dimensional and boring.

I disagree. If you look at each major individual storyline for Riley, then yeah, it kinda looks like that. However, if you look at the bigger picture and compare Season 8 Riley to Season 10 Riley, you’ll see that his storyline has been more than just his sexuality — it’s been him coming out of his shell. He’s actually being himself to people, not acting like the person he thought everybody wanted him to be. That’s related to his sexuality, for sure, but it’s much bigger than his sexuality.
And it doesn’t hurt that Riley and Zane are just a super cute couple.

That’s still not exciting tho. Rileys never done a major story line like Eli with the hoarding, anya being into a 25 yr old, alli running away, etc. He’s so intensely boring it amazes me.

Yeah, but it just became easy to guess what Riley’s storyline would be, whereas other characters might be a little less predictable. Take Fiona, for example; she’s dealt with dating a gay guy, incest, abuse, drinking, and being a lesbian in the span of just two seasons. Riley’s been here for three, and everything he’s played a major role in has to do with his sexuality, albeit in different situations, but it’s still like, “Oh hey, it’s Riley, and he’s having issues with coming out… Again.”

What I find interesting about your statements is that only in the Degrassi universe would he be considered boring. I’m okay if he never breaks new ground with his storylines. Maybe that’s just me. All I’m concerned with is that the emotion and story are genuine. Riley’s storylines have been genuine (at least for the most part). It’s not like coming out is an easy or quick process. Especially for someone like Riley who had so much pent up self-hatred. His storyline has had a nice, slow-building pace to it, and now it’s an absolute joy to watch. One of my favorite storylines from Season 10 (though I admit that I have many) was watching Riley try to convince his mom that he was gay. Watching him lament about how she refused to acknowledge the magazines with half-naked men or actually walking in on him kissing Zane was subtly heart-breaking and hilarious all at once.
Conversely, I was really tired of Eli by the end of the season. He was awesome in the beginning, but as soon as he went batshit crazy, I was over him. The hoarding episode was about as much as I could take. Everything else after had me shaking my damn head. Here’s hoping the writers reel him back in some.

i wonder what crazy thing eli will do next for claire even though i dont think she will ever take him back.he loved her so fucking much!(well metophorically) and he was willing to do practically anything for her and damn!why does she have to be so fucking rude. it makes me so mad and the last episode i cried…
