The summer block of episodes is called Degrassi: Now Or Never…
While I can understand why a lot of people think the promo is lackluster, the complaint I’m seeing everywhere that this promo is “too short” is beyond silly. It doesn’t need to reveal every single storyline or feature every returning character. As creative as the carnival promo was, that one could’ve easily been trimmed down a good 30 or 40 seconds and it still would’ve been impactful. Longer is not always better.
And while everyone is intent on comparing this promo to the carnival one, I’m pretty sure this promo will still be better than 99% of the regular Season 11 promos produced by the networks from here on.
I like this promo because it does exactly what it’s supposed to do: introduce several of Now or Never’s key storylines. Instead of producing a feeling of “OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST SEASON EVER, IM SO DEAD RIGHT NOW sldgrkgd;krngdgrlg,” we’re served a sense of relaxed intrigue, as indicated by the characters as they let loose on the beach. The promo is almost calming, thanks to a combination of the setting, the soundtrack (Steal Your Heart by Augustana) and the realization that this is one of the very rare times where so many Degrassi characters are in the same space at once.
Instead of trying to force dramatics down our throats (aka normal teennick promos) or relying on a voiceover to go along with meaningless clips of people staring off camera (aka much music promos), this promo relies on a subtle approach. It works well as it reveals Alli/Dave, Katie/Dave, Eli/Imogen and Clare/Jake. But I do admit that the relaxed nature of the promo feels very weird when it comes to Anya passing out(from her projected drug use) and the Drew/Bianca situation…it’s like you should feel a sense of urgency when the thug reveals his gun, but you don’t. Amidst presenting these storylines, the promo does a fantastic job of making sure the tone remains consistent, injecting shots of characters “just existing” without delving into their stories (Fiona, Sav, Holly J, Marisol, KC, Jenna).
One thing I disliked about this promo experience was the lack of surprise when it came to the three most-discussed storylines of the day. We’ve known for forever that there’s going to be a shooting. And fans have been talking about Eli/Imogen and Jake/Clare for God knows how long. If I remember correctly, the only thing we knew about Season 10 before the carnival promo were the 5 new characters, who played them, and that one of them (Adam) is transgender. But I guess this lack of surprise is the price we pay for existing in a 24-hour Degrassi universe, where the cast and crew reveal too much and fans leave no stone unturned.
The most underrated aspect of this promo is the one thing people see, but aren’t necessarily 100% aware of: it takes place completely away from Degrassi and surrounding areas.

On a side note, while it looks like Anya’s the one doing the whole drug thing, the article that first mentioned cocaine usage said the person was no stranger to trouble. Plus doesn’t Anya doing coke seem extremely out of character for her? I mean they couldve easily made it her, but it just doesn’t jive with the only info we’ve been given about that.

First of all hello every1 it’s been a while since I was on this site :) and now onto the promo, Ok first off of course jenna and kc r still together they just had baby so yea I guess they r gonna stay together but I really wud like them to break up. It’s not becuz I hate them (which I do) I’m just tired of them. They’ve been together since season 9. I’d really like to see them with other characters so maybe I cud have a chance of liking them. I’m over the whole being a mad at them becuz of Clare thing cuz I really don’t give a shit about klare that’s like fucking stone age history now. So since I brought up Clare I guess I’ll go onto her now. So obviously she’s gonna like Jake and wanna go out with him and by the looks of it he’s gonna want the same thing hence the “almost kiss” at the end. She’s obviously over Eli but Eli is clearly not over her ( shocker I know) making a prediction off the thing where Eli went up to the back of imogen thinking it was Clare I can tell they won’t have a strong relationship. I think imogen will like Eli but Eli will use that to make Clare jealous. He never once hinted that that he was really going to like imogen so yea. I’m not going to say my opinion on elcare becuz it causes so much annoying shit on this site so I’ll move onto Bianca and drew. This Promo obviously blew the whole degrassi teaser trailer where Bianca is screaming like crazy. Obviously she dated this guy drew dosent like him he pulls on gun on drew for trying to beat him up nuff said. Once again Adam will get rejected from I believe the new character kaity. Poor Adam here we go again. I’m curious to see if Eli Adam and Clare are still friends this season but I don’t think so. At most it will just be Adam and Eli hanging out cuz I’m pretty sure Clare dosent wanna hang out with Eli anymore. As for the rest of the characters I really don’t no. I didn’t see enough to make predictions so I guess will just have to wait :) p.s. The shark in the water promo was so much better in my opinion. This one wasn’t nearly as exciting to me

To be honest, the promo was kinda corny and lackluster. But that’s not a bad thing! It kills off the hype and lowers my expectations so I can actually enjoy the episodes when they air instead of watching them after over-speculating them.

I love this promo!! I can’t stop watching it. I must say that character, Jake, looks so incredibly beautiful in this promo (Eli too!). Also, that girl katie is SO PRETTY, i love how adams always goes for the prettiest girls! Wow im so excited!!! This promo made me realize how much I’ve missed degrassi! Looks like its gonna be another great season full of drama and new love <3

I don’t think it’s really the fact that Eli doesn’t seem ‘into’ Imogen, but it looks (at least from the promo) Imogen – who has already been established as a compulsive liar – is going to try and lie to be Clare-esque. I mean, she wore the jean jacket, glasses, etc… I’m going to get super mushy and symbolic here, so bare with me. But I think it more represents that Eli’s going to try and find someone to replace Clare, but it isn’t going to feel right or be the same. And, of course, she’s lying so that doesn’t help things.
As for Cake (gosh, that name is so ridiculous), it looks like Clare will be the instigator in that relationship, which concerns me. I know friends who wanted to get over guys so terribly, they ended up doing things they regretted with OTHER guys, which messed them up. I really hope that’s not the case here.
But, I’m really curious about the Bianca storyline! I do agree, maybe rape but also maybe a past jealous boyfriend? I don’t think it’s terribly smart to punch someone who has a gun, but gotta give Drew points for sticking up for his lady friend.

Compared to the Carnival promo, it’s definitely underwhelming and lackluster, but I’ve just gotta pretend we weren’t spoiled last year and appreciate it is still a pretty good promo hah, although a lot less foreshadowing involved. Clare+Jake and Drew+Bianca seemed to get the most screentime for sure; personally I think it’s kind of awkward that for the fourth season in a row Clare’s (the “average looking” brainy girl) love interest will be a prime plot but at least she’s instigating (with Alli’s advice; she seemed pretty anti-Eli in Drop the World so I could see her pushing Clare to move on), but the Drew-Bianca stuff looks interesting and intense, hopefully it doesn’t all happen in the spring break special. Munro’s a good actor so I hope they go pretty dark with him pining over Clare so that it’s interesting and not just him moping around like Ashley did after Craig, and I definitely get the vibe that he’s only using Imogen as a placeholder. Speaking of her, I really hope that’s not her normal styling…the actress is really attractive but she was dressed so frumpy and Clare-esque, not at all like a wild and eccentric attention-seeker. So I’m hoping ClosetDegrassiLover was right and that was just some symbolism. Also, it looks like Dave’s gonna get Alli, and Adam goes after Katie (who’s freaking gorgeous, sorta Oliva Wilde-ish) but it fizzles out.
One thing that kinda worries me is the HUGE lack of seniors here! For starters, Riley and Zane are nowhere to be found (same for Chantay but that’s a good call hah) and Mo wasn’t introduced, leaving only Sav, Holly J, Fiona, and Anya. Of those four, Anya had acceptable focus looking super messed up and crazy, but HJ’s only purpose was to console and support her, meanwhile all Sav did was stand on that tower and pump his fists in the air and Fiona talked to (and was basically blown off by) Eli? I definitely think they’re smart for fazing them out while phasing fresh blood in so it’s not a shock like season eight, but I still hope that these senior characters get the emphasis they deserve before graduating.

Cool promo, but nothing can really match the carnival promo. This promo is more interpretive, i guess, while season 10’s was more straightforward. Cake is surprising, not the relatinship but the fact Clare is the one going for it i guess…it was a little sad Eli cant have Clare, but for me he needs to prove himself to be a reletively sane person before eclare can happen again…anya was surprising what the hecks goin on there…so ya

Anya looked wasted in the promo, but Fiona was already an alcoholic so I don’t think they would make Anya one as well. Maybe it will be a one time thing that causes a major impact, injures/kills herself or someone else.

I think the idea of Bianca becoming a rape victim is definitely interesting. With both Paige and Darcy, it was the one event that was PERFECT for the character because it was the thing that could devastate them most. Paige was a control freak who thought she could get anything she wanted, and it really humanized her and brought her back to earth. Darcy was so adamantly saving herself for marriage, and her purity was stolen from her. With Bianca, she legitmately enjoys sex and is shown to be very promiscuous, so it would make it something bad for her. Also, I could see people not beliving her because of her past, insiting she “wanted it”.

I agree 100% this is not getting me excited 1 bit. I mean I even got to see the new characters interact with the old characters. Last year when I saw Eli Bianca Adam and drew in action I was bouncing off the walls. The theme is really just like what the hell man?? But then again last yr when all the boiling point promos came degrassi had been gone for awhile. So it was like OMFG I CANT BELIEVE WHAT IS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN!!!! Cuz season 9 didn’t even compare to what was supposed to come. And the very 1st promo that came out for the boiling point was so exciting where it showed Eli saying u have pretty eyes to Clare. I MISS ALL THE HYPE FROM LAST SUMMER WAAAAA!!!! I hope they start showing more good promos like last yr :(

I hate how people are already complaining about the video. Atleast they gave us a promo, they didnt have to but they did. And im glad they didnt tell or show too much like the shark in the water promo because everyone already guessed what was going to happen by the time that got realsed. But this promo was just the right lenght, any longer wouldve either just been too reavling, or unessacary.
Finally Anya gets her own storyline! the only other plot shes had has been with Sav and the doctor which lasted for like 5 episodes at most

This promo is interesting, but not as good as Shark in the Water. I wonder if Anya is the Coke addict. Clare and Jake seem to hit it off really well, and Dave/Ali was a surprise to me. Sav must probably be representing that hes graduating and finally leaving Degrassi. Adam has a new love interest and Katie looks like she doesn’t care.

Anya gets involved with drugs which is why she is out of it and faints. Fiona Is happy in the promo so maybe she finds someone. Eli thinks clare is imogen he doesn’t like her at first but then he starts to think maybe he could replace her or make Clare jealous. Bianca must end up almost getting raped but drew tries to help her and gets shot. Dave and Ali become close friends. Clare tries hard to replace Eli which is why she leans in to kiss Jake which could me she moves fast with Jake to try to replace Eli, but Jake doesn’t lean to kiss her back. And I’m guessing sav becomes an MVP or gets an award which explains why all the girls are crowding around him. Adam tries to get Kate ( I think that’s her name) to notice him by making a move but she’s to interested in sav.

I don’t like this promo. It doesn’t go deep into real storylines.. I guess it might be more revealing later on, but like in Shark in the Water, you knew Holly J and Sav would get together, you knew Eli would have something to with Death, you found out Anya was two-faced (I didn’t consider her that two-faced) and Bianca makes boyfriends disappear somehow… That was a good promo.
I guess it’s just me. I like knowing most of the things then just seeing how it all fits together, like The Boiling Point – I knew all the spoilers and all, I was just eager to see it fit together. Whatever. That’s just me. :)

Here are my predictions, judging from the promo:
Bianca/Drew: The guy with the gun is most likely Anson, I think he’ll be Bianca’s ex-boyfriend and also a drug dealer. Bianca buys drugs from him, along with Drew but things will get out of hand when he starts hitting on her possibly trying to force himself onto her. Drew attempts to intervene and gets into a fight with Anson, he is badly hurt. I believe the gun will come into play later in the season with Anson possibly making a return. I think it may also be revealed that he used to abuse Bianca.
Eli/Clare/Imogen/Jake: Eli obviously still has feelings for Clare, although she seems to be happier now that her and Eli’s relationship is over. When her old childhood friend Jake starts attending Degrassi, Alli convinces her to give him a try. While Eli seems to be receiving attention from Imogen, it also seems like he may become good friends with Fiona since they were seen hanging out in the promo.
Anya: She seemed like she was on something in the promo, so I believe she may be the one who starts using cocaine. Possibly out of depression because her mothers cancer comes back and her mother becomes deathly ill. Then Anya may overdose as she was seen falling in the promo.
Adam/Katie: Adam and Katie become close, although Katie may be only interested in him as a friend. I think she may have something for Sav as she is seen running over to him when he is on the lifeguard seat going crazy. This will hurt Adam, obviously.
Dave/Alli: These two seem to have something going on judging from the promo. I think Dave will dump Sadie for Alli, who is now interested in him.
Sav: He is freaking out on the lifeguard seat because he is excited for his upcoming graduation. I believe Katie will have a thing for him as I said above, and Holly J may possibly regret dumping him.
Well, the promo was no Shark in the Water but it was still good. I just wish we would have seen more hints at storyline’s, and more characters.

I think jake could be gay or Bi and leads clare on (accidnetly) and all that. That would be an amazing storyline! because im a gay guy and apperantly i flirt with every girl, when really im just trying to be a nice guy since there are so few out there and Ive lead on many girls on, but i wasnt trying too.

But I don’t think Anya passing out and Drew/Bianca thing was weird in the promo- I think it added a little worry/suspense without going over the top.

My worries are
-that the bianca/drew/anson…? (guy with gun) stroyling will all take place in the spring break special, because this is one of those plots that needs to take place over time, and extend its story, and its 100% needed, unlike holly J’s illness or Alli’s run away.
-and Im worried that the 2nd half of this season will suck just like the 2nd half of season 10 did. I mean come on, am i the only one who loathed watching the show when it returned in the fall?

I think that KC will be the cocaine addict because it said it was going to be someone who is no stranger to trouble and when he first came to degrassi he was known for having a troubled past(didn’t he steal a car or something before he came to degrassi?), since he lived in the group home. Maybe? Just sayin.

My gosh, this promo is amazing! First of all, THANK YOU KARY for being the source I went to for this promo! And now my obsessiveness after I’ve been gone for so long!
1. Eli/Imogen and Jake/Clare: I do not ship either of them right now since I’m such an EClare fanatic.BUT I might, MIGHT, ship Cake… As for Eli, he still has feelings for Clare, so I wonder how that’s gonna tie in with Imogen…
2. Dave/Sadie/Alli: I WANT DAVE/SADIE TOGETHER!
3. Drew/Bianca/Other dude: It looks intense. Yeah…All I’m saying…

I thought it was a good promo. It didn’t give as much away.
The Shark in the Water promo was very organized and memorable. It was very clear too for the most part. But it gave away a lot. Jenna’s pregnancy happened in like the 5th week but we had known about it since the promo came out. So many things could have been surprised but were kinda ruined by the fun of giving too many clues. Plus clues also leave room to over hype.
I’m excited and hopefully season 11 will surprise me more than season 10 did. And like I said before, I really hope they properly right off the seniors but still get the younger kids ready to step up as the new seniors and juniors at Degrassi Community School.

I’m most excited for Anya’s storyline because she always has those storylines where it could of gone some where more farther. So I would be good to see her have a good storyline *that is not a B plot* Also I don’t think she is the one doing coke,
Jake/clare Eli/imogen not excited to see this, but I think think this will cause Eli to kill himself because it’s so obvious that every since season 10 that they are all leading up to a suicide storyline.
Adam/Katie- adam’s storylines are getting like Marco’s storylines. All of marco’s was about him being gay. Now all of Adam’s is being about being transgender and not getting the girls he want.
Dave/alli/Sadie- now once alli wants him, Dave doesn’t want her….or maybe it will be a love triangle like Craig/Manny/Ashley
Bianca/Drew- I’m excited for this plot. I want Bianca to have more storylines than Claire and Eli. I was so sick of seeing them in season 10. I think bianca’s the one who gets the coke addiction. Enough said. :)

I’m almost a hundred percent sure that the passing out thing with Anya had nothing to do with doing coke. That doesn’t really hint to anything in particular and it would make more sense if the passing out hinted to any other kind of drug abuse or alcohol abuse, but not coke.

Ah, so happy that it looks like Dave and Alli are going to finally happen! I guess I’m the only one…? I really liked the idea of them together after their storyline in season 9’s “Why Can’t This Be Love?” and I was so disappointed that they didn’t end up together in season 10.
I’m really wondering how Eli, Clare, Imogen, and Jake are all going to be woven together. This could be an interesting love rectangle in the making. And I know a good amount of the blame goes to Eli for the end of his relationship with Clare, but I can’t help but feel sorry for him since he’s obviously still in love with Clare meanwhile she’s already moving on.
I’m surprised Adam’s going to be pursuing another relationship. Here was me thinking that there was gonna be more focus on the physical realities of being transgender. My heart’s already breaking for the poor kid, looks like Katie’s not all too interested in him. Gah, Adam so does not deserve that.
I know everyone’s thinking it, but I’m really not sold on the idea of Anya being the coke addict. Like a few others have said, she’s not a known trouble maker, so I’m still convinced it’s Bianca.
Oh, and people feeling the need to compare this promo with the Shark In The Water one is just silly. It definitely has the same feel as the Shark In the Water promo, but it’s still different. I personally like this promo a lot; I think it succeeds in creating anticipation for the new season without giving away too much.

I think its going to be Anya doing cocaine. The promo said it was a character who is no stranger to trouble. Although everything thinks Anya is a goody two shoes, in the last season alone she faked a pregnancy in an attempt to get her ex boyfriend back, lied about her age and tried to skip down with someone much older (think of the legal trouble Dr. Chris could have got into..) and caused trouble between Holly J and Fiona by spilling Fiona’s secret.
Did anyone notice her little strip tease? I think that and the coke might be a ploy to try to seem older, or have something to do with doctor Chris. I also hope they bring back her mothers cancer. Although we have had characters have dead parents, or have parents die suddenly (Craig’s dad) we’ve never seen a character deal with a parent’s terminal illness.

For some strange reason I think Alli is the one that is going to be addicted to coke, she is the only female character on degrassi other than Bianca that is “no stranger to trouble. I would hate that Bianca or Anya would be addicted to coke because:
1) With Bianca it would be to obvious and in fact extremely boring/ unentertaining.
2) With Anya the only reason i would be remotely interested in her doing coke if if it revolve around Dr.Chris realising the the age difference between them is actually a problem for him.
Alli would be a better fit because OMG the girl needs a fucking solid plot, she has not had one from the “johnny/ STI” bit and her parents seeing her record.

Hola como estas everyone! Hope you all are having a nice start to your respective summer. I’m checking in from Peru, where not even a week in my vacation, I feel like I never want to leave this country. Anyways:
KC and Jenna look happy carefree like a heavy weight has been lifted from them.
Cake- Jake and Clare seem like they could be a good couple. Jake looks like the chill type, the opposite of what Eli was.
“A man of few words, Degrassi’s new heart-throb is good with his hands and quick with a grin. Let’s just say he has made out with his share of bikini clad Muskoka girls, but he never let them get in the way of the stuff [he truly loves: watching sports, hanging with friends, fishing, mad fresh dancing and camping.] He’s a guys guy who doesn’t play games and means what he says – all with a good dose of humor and charm. ”
Based off this description, it does not appear that Jake is looking for a relationship because his life is good right now (see the bracketed). Seems like he won’t beat around the bush, that he will tell Clare exactly what’s on his mind when they have their moments.
“Turns out, Jake has a childhood connection to Clare, worst still, it’s a friendship’ that Jake’s meddlesome dad seems very keen on having them rekindle.”
This part is interesting. I haven’t read or heard anything about Jake’s mom, but maybe she had a similar personality like Clare’s and if that’s the case, maybe Jake’s dad will want his son to ‘rush things…’
At:18, I see a slight blur image of Anya, Bianca, Eli, and Fiona during the bonfire. I believe the previous comments have said that Fiona talks to Eli in this promo, but they are both just enjoying the crackling embers.
Look at the Alli face at :20, :39. She with that “yeah ookay Dave” look.
Katie seems to enjoy Adam’s company, but he is not the main focus for her during the promo.
Anya got them dope eyes at :22, and is off in her own world at :24. Stripping is nice hehe, but she is obviously on something.

Sav looks hype, but I’m not sure for what, maybe got accepted into that music program.

I thought it was amazing! It wasn’t too short! It was a minute and a half!
When it first started playing, I really thought it was an ad. Then I realized that it was Jenna and KC. I thought this was put together beautifuly. Putting them at the beach and creating mini storyilne hints was metaphorical and genius. It subtly describes each upcoming plot line.
I agree, I honestly don’t know if there can be a better promo. Ever.

Now, for the analyzing:
Jenna and KC: I really do hope they stay together. They are just the classic couple. They fight but they are still so cute and you just find yourself rooting for them. I think the pregnany only made them stronger.
Clare and Jake… Okay, I’m going to be honest. I don’t even think Clare’s pretty. I only liked her because of Eli. I mean, I don’t know much about this Jake guy, but from the given description, he just seems too good. There has to be something up there.
Eli and Katie or Imogene or whoever that girl was: I really don’t know who that girl is, but I think we ALLLL know that he won’t be with anyone but Clare. Simple as that. He might use her to try and make Clare jealous… but no more.
Adam and whoever: I really hope he finds someone. I know the writers probably want to make it realistic as it is highly unlikely that a transgender chld will find a happy relationship, but please dear God, just give him one!
Alli and Dave: They were probably just friend hugging. I don’t want them in a relationship anyway. Dave and what’s her face are too cute.
Anya: Still rooting for her and Sav btw. I hope she doesn’t get too into drugs.

Holly J: I barely saw her… Which is funny as se was like the main character last season.

Drew and Bianca: I saved them for last on purpose. You have no idea how much I don’t want Drew to die. It’s cool if he gets shot, just don’t paralyze or kill him. You know why? I am madly in love with him and Bianca. That’s right. Someone up top mentioned a possible rape with her, and I really hope that happens. Not because I want her to get raped, but I think it would be really good from her point of view and to see how she handles it, as the only other rapes were a Christian girl and Paige. So… I just want a happy life with Drew and Bianca! Well, you know what I mean. I basically want Drew to get shot and Bianca to be raped, but not in a creepy way. I promise. Haha, but I think they are wonderful actors and have the potential to hold up a strong storyline!

You don’t need to be reminded, but Holly J and Sav were an unofficial item last season, and when Anya found out after the attempt to get back with Sav failed, didn’t care because of her mother’s cancer. I don’t think that after what happened with that, she would even consider getting back together with Sav. I believe previous posts’ comments talked about how Anya would not be under Sav’s shadow since they were no longer an item, that she would have her own storyline. She will, and one of the reasons is because she is no longer with Sav.

I couldn’t agree more. I loved the metaphorical and subtle aspect of everything. And instead of straight-out telling us what everything meant, the viewers are left to try and interpret it on their own, which I think is really neat. (the sparklers, Imogen wearing the same outfit as Clare, Sav waving around his old Degrassi uniform, etc.)
The promo was sweet, worrysome, intense, heartbreaking, artistic, and gorgeous all at the same time.
Even though I am a HUGE Eclare fan and my heart was breaking for Eli the WHOLE entire time, I absolutely loved the new promo.
Can’t wait for this summer.

The thing that I am worried about is that this season will be more like season 9. (incredibly boring and it certainly did not get real) I no really hyped up promos aren’t the best idea becuz the episodes may not lead up to what’s expected but if it dosent excite u it makes u want to watch less (well maybe that’s just me but some ppl may agree) I no there were alot of let downs last season, but sometimes really hyped up promos r a good thing becuz they make u bounce off the walls and I luv that!!! And hey I didn’t think the episodes were that bad that were hyped up more than they were supposed to be. I guess what I’m trying to say is that overall I love exciting promos and in the end I don’t really care If the episodes made their expectations or not so I want
more exciting promos!!!

Imogen Moreno “Fun, energetic, with a magnetic look and intense stare–Imogen would hate for anyone to think she’s boring, so she goes to great lengths to stand out from the crowd: bandaging her unwounded wrists, or even posing as a homeless kid to beg for change. She puts on the airs of being an enlightened individual, but it’s a ploy to manipulate those around her. She worries one day someone will discover her secret: she’s a normal kid looking for excitement in her life.” Anyone picking up what I’m putting down? Plus, with the whole “Eli” stuff….. ^^^OMG That’s what I thought hahaha. I was wondering if Marisol will now be a regular, like in opening creds and all. This promo was so REFRESHING, it didn;t try to make my mind explode but it still left me interested in the upcoming season. Just some thoughts/observations:
Riley, Wesley, Connor, Fitz, Zane, Owen and Mo are nowhere to be found…?
Imogen/ Eli should be interesting to see, she likes him, he loves Clare plus he’s still crazy
Dave/Alli one word: NO or Eww is also acceptable. She can do so much better than him
Adam/ Katie: poor Adam. Also should be something to see how Marisol interacts with Adam, I mean they’ll sort of have to if she’s Katie’s best friend.
KC/Jenna: Still going strong. I read an earlier comment about being annoyed that they’ve been together since season 9 but not all couples have to have major relationship issues/ break up. Some couples stay together throughout high school. Personally I’m sick of every character having a new love interest every season, it’s tiring.
Anya: Ooooh no, she’s gone through high school with almost no bumps(aside from constant relationship trouble w/ Sav)and now she’s getting into some sort of trouble. Through season 10 Anya has become one of my favorite characters and now this crap. Can’t anyone at Degrassi live a semi-normal teenage life?
Bianca/Drew: I’m indifferent to them as a couple, personally I like Bianca much more on her own but that might also be because Drew annoys the CRIZAP out of me. Should be interesting to see what all goes down with this hooded thug man guy.
Jake/Clare: Umm I’m a Christian so I naturally like Clare, sort of, but at this stage in the game I’m on Clare/Eli OVERLOAD, I don’t want to spend another 20 episodes on her obvious love interest Jake. I just want Clare and Eli to disappear for a few episodes so I can recover. P.S. Jake’s haircut is DISGUSTING.
Fiona and Holly J.: Just chillin, that’s cool. Though I do miss my original Pony-tailed Queen Bish version of Holly J. she bores me a bit now. Fiona is supposed to have a new love interest? The promo didn’t really illustrate that, aside form her talking to Eli while he walked away completely, ignoring her, as if no one was there.
I think I covered everything. I’m excited for Season 11!

Well, Chantay was the new Hazel (constant cheerleader sidekick to another cheerleading female with few plots actually about her). From the press S11 has shown Marisol will be Katie’s sidekick the way Hazel was to Paige, and Chantay was to Darcy, Mia, and Anya.

I was watching the promo and so things came to mind. in the promo we see alli turning clare around so she notices jake. maybe alli is the one that pushes, i mean, “motivates” clare into going after jake. and we also see eli talking to fiona on the bonfire. theres a rumor that fiona is goint to be held back. maybe she does get held back in some classes because of the time she was drunk all the time and in rehab. and maybe she takes some clases with eli. since hes the only one from grade 11 she knows and they become friends. that would be cool. another thing is, theres problably a shooting BUT the gun can also be like symbolic. at the end we see the guy loading the gun, eli looking back and at that moment clare reaches towards jake. maybe it mean that eli is going to “snap a gasket”, as adam would say, when he realized clare is into jake.

i dont know why everyone hates alli and dave so much!! i think they are adorable and its what alli needs: something more light and airy
also i think something is gonna happen with anya’s mom and she will get sick again and possibly die. there have been parents dying on degrassi but we’ve never really seen how they deal except with craig for like 1 episode (season 2 finale)
and eli looked so good in this promo! gahh he looks great without all his makeup on i think hes gonna try and be less death-oriented to try and win clare back
not on board for the whole “Cake” thing. they are a horrible couple with really no depth, in my opinion

~Degrassi Season 11: Now or Never~
First Off I have to say “I love Degrassi, it is my favorite show!”
Okay now that is off my chest. I believe the Promo was an excellent and enticing teaser. From start to finish and beginning to end. I’m assuming the cast selected for the promo may play a great deal in this season. The writers are very brilliant for making this promo like, but then again different from the ‘Shark in the Water’ promo. It was exciting; it was more on a logical level, you’ll have to assume certain story-lines. I have a couple of assumption.
Starting with:
K.C. Guthrie and Jenna Middleton- They look happy. Happier than ever! I’ve actually grew to like Jenna more. She went through some rough times, and I can’t wait to see how she handles a child. I do hope the baby girl doesn’t tear K.C. and Jenna apart. As for K.C., he has also become stronger. He and Jenna are making each other stronger. Their story-lines are funny as you see that they both tried to find a new ‘love’ (Jenna=Sav and K.C.=Jess) In the end realize they still love each other. This is how a real on and off relationship is suppose to be. (Not Sanya, which they were boring!)I bet there is a reason they showed them. Something is going to go down between them.
Bianca DeSousa and Drew Torres- Officially looking nice!_! These two seemed like they were just tossed together at the beginning, but now from the looks of it their relationship is going to do some real growing. They look like a happy couple, but here comes mister in the hoody. Did you all see Bianca’s expression at (00:43) She was smiling, two suggestions. Either this guy is a stranger, that Bianca meets because she really doesn’t like Drew or She and Drew gets into a fight so she finds the closest guy to make him mad, but then it turns ugly. Or this guy is some one she know; she tried to rekindle with. He tries to get with Bianca, thus Bianca tells him she has a Boyfriend and she doesn’t want to do this. And again it turns ugly… Da-Da-Dom! Drew to the rescue. From there Drew looks like he was ready to fight. The guy revealing his ‘Gun’… Drew was starting to leave, but made his mind to fight the guy! I don’t believe Drew would try to fight someone with a gun. So what I believe is the words or the dirt he got on Bianca was as strong as a gun. Making Drew think about is Bianca worth it. Realizing he couldn’t leave he stray. It shows that Drew is now developing REAL feeling for her.
Clare Edwards and Jake Martin- There’s not much I could say about them. Other than Clare has become very independent and blossomed much more after Eli. As we watch her enjoy her time at the Beach. I assume will be the one to convince Clare to take on other guys. Clare might not be interested in starting over with talking and getting to know the a guy, but it’s Jake. Alli considers him; Clare knows him and his family so what’s the problem. He’s CUTE! Just perfect for her. In the promo we see Clare bump into Jake as if they first meet face to face or love at first sight? The she’s holding is between the two of them. “Does this represent Sparks are flying?” I can’t honestly say I believe that. When she leans in for a kiss, Jake doesn’t look that into her. I hope he doesn’t turn her down hard. I hate to see Clare embarrassed, Sad, anything negative. SHe is so Bright and very beautiful. I love the way she carry herself. Some one said earlier they think Clare is ugly. I disagree time a thousand. She’s gorgeous! As for Jake being a gay or Bisexual character. That will be juicy because he’s that type of gay guy who tries to cover it up with making out with all kinds of girl and having the player status. Then he know Clare starts to fall for him. A family friend, someone he trust and love, or whatever they may be. He knew he could put Clare in his whole game. Therefore, he might tell Clare he’s not really into females… However the writers made it, I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
Alliah Bhandari ‘Alli’ and Dave Turner- Alli looks like life is going great! She’s moving on well from Drew from the looks of it, I don’t see any interaction between her and Drew (You never know with Degrassi). She’s trying to be a friend by telling Clare to go after other guys. Then we see her and Dave. Dave, on the other hand, looks like he’s having fun. Maybe he’s forgetting about Sadie, or see a perfect moment to get with Alli. (His biggest Crush) Here is Alli, she looks like she’s enjoying his company. But then again… Maybe Dave and Alli are just making up. Season 10 Dave started to dislike Alli because she was using him for Drew. So the promo is probably a hint that Alli and Dave has made up or in the progress of making up. It might be a story-line for Sadie. As we see from her point of view her being jealous of Dave hanging with her when he’s supposed to be with his GIRLFRIEND! (Who knows?_?)
Adam Torres and Katie Matlin- Adam is still searching for love, maybe? I think it’s fine if Adam doesn’t find that special or right girl for him. Because it’s going to be tough. Period! I don’t think Katie very much interested in Adam, so Adam is getting wrong messages. Results in him being embarrassed when Katie go after what she really wanted. About Katie and Sav? Doubt it! She looks like she’s joining the crowd to celebrate about the uniforms being released. Fiona and Katie… I have assumptions this might happen, but I can’t tell?
Holly J. Sinclair and Anya MacPherson- What do I say? Well for starters, Holly J. doesn’t have much of anything. Does this mean the writers gave her less plots. So they can focus on the others more? (I have no clue, for they weren’t in the promo) Anya was the only interesting. Stripping and Dancing! She looks like she’s either high off drugs or alcohol. Whatever it is. I know Anya is on something because that is out of character. I guess pressure with Dr. Chris, trying to fit in with the adults, I guess… If it’s not her who does drugs then it’s something else that would trigger to act like that? As Anya strip tease carry on, Holly J. watches. I assume she’s shocked. Then she notice Anya passes out! Two guess? Either she reached her limit and faints (or ODed)? Or she was the one to be shot, don’t you see how Anya looks like she’s about to spit up blood or something? Holly J. catches her with a panicking expression.
Elijah ‘Eli’ Goldsworthy and Imogen Moreno- This seems like the most unique. Eli is now crazy just like Fiona! I wonder how the two will react to each other. As we all see Eli is not moving on from Clare. I believe either he tries to replace Clare or he wants to make her jealous. Then again, Eli might be working on a little skit to impress Clare. Imogen finds Eli attractive. She wants him, and will do anything to have what she wants (To me her description sounds like the new Paige and Holly J. But with originality. What I’m trying to say the new Queen Bee.) I assume Imogen may pull manipulative stunts. Or she might do certain things that reminds him of Clare when Eli is in the act of making Clare Jealous. However this plays out I just want to see it!
Fiona Coyne- This is One of my favorite characters! Reaching Number one! I love her because this character been through a lot of reality. Fiona really needed a reality check and she got the roughest one! The whole Holly J. ‘LOVE’ thing, I don’t think it’s dropped. Because you can’t stop loving someone until a long run. As for her new love interest? Have no clue. But I’m could guess it’s Katie or possibly Tinsley Wharton? (Or not!)
Savtaj ‘Sav’ Bhandari- Waving the uniforms in the air. Considering he’s the student body president, it legitimate that he’s the one to do so. Symbolizing the uniforms are over, done, finish, Finally DEAD! Or it could mean Sav is the one to fight against them. (If that’s the reason, then again it’s not legit that he’s waving it because someone else could be doing so.) Whatever it means can’t wait to see!
Marisol Lewis!_!- I LOVE, I LOVE, AND I FREAKING LOVE HER! Very beautiful. I hope she’s not like Chantay or Hazel. I want this character to fit in with Paige, Darcy, Holly J. and Fiona as one of the leading ladies. Now that she’s going to be in it more often along side with Katie. Hopefully they both are going to be sides for each other; like Katie will be Marisol’s side if it’s her plot and Marisol will be Katie’s, because I really want Marisol to get more than what we are left with. I have a feeling the actress can pull off more than what we expect. (Way better than Jessica Tyler, but nowadays Ms. Tyler is getting better at acting) If she’s not a regular, oh well as long as they didn’t drop her… I LOVE!_!
Final Note:
Now that’s all said, I can’t wait to see what is in store for this season. I have a feeling this season is going to be better than Season ten. Everything is set and stone, and ready to go. I wonder how everything is going to play out, but however it will move. All I know is it’s either “NOW OR NEVER!”

so in honor of a new season of degrassi (10 years after emma was semi-molested[the first of a series of ridiculous degrassi plots]) i have decided to create a long uneeded post about random thoughts on degrassi. so heres ten random degrassi facts:
1) as of right now anya is my favorite degrassi character
2) why do i even watch this show anymore
3) does anyone else want to brutally murder drew/adam’s mom
4) kc pisses me off
5) does anyone else feel like bianca is an exact replica of alex nunez (minus the lesbian tendencies)

10) this upcoming seaosn 11 better be everything we can expect and love about degrassi: disappointing and overhyped episodes, a plot involving a gun, knife, car crash, unplanned pregnancies, unneeded relationship drama, chantey constantly popping up in plotlines

I am so excited for this season. This promo is so much better then the ‘Shark in the Water’ promo. I really hope the new characters are as great as their description sounds. Also I am so excited that Mo isn’t being cut. There is just so many things that I am looking forward to for the season. I just can’t wait until it comes back on during the summer:)

how can anyone think that the promo is ‘lackluster’ or even short? it’s perfect. it’s exactly what they wanted to show us, exactly when they wanted to show us it. it gives a little away to keep to guessing about storylines, without being a promo full of the best clips of actual episodes from the new season. in my opinion, they did it exactly right. from not giving too much away, to making an actual promo-promo (without actual clips). the direction and cinematography are incredible, and you can see the amount of heart that went into the editing. the song choice is wonderful, and the timing is flawless. i couldn’t be more proud of the degrassi writers and directors. i don’t know about y’all, but despite any complaints i bet everyone is SO much more excited for season eleven after the promo release. that was the intent, and i feel like they extraordinarily succeeded.

I’m still a little sad about eclare being over. I felt like it was too rushed in the second half of the season, and Eli became waaaaaayyyy to possessive and a little suffocating. I liked it better when it was a slower relationship; it felt more natural to watch than some of the other couple’s relationships. I’m a shipper for Cake (love the dessert references, eclair/cake ^.^) FOR NOW, but I would love to see eclare happen again (once Eli worked out his issues)
I’m hoping Bianca will get the rape storyline. It’ll show a different side to her, i think. Anya will be the druggie. Maybe another lockdown? (a legit one please!)
As for the promo, i LOVED it. yes, it was short, but i like the fact it’s different. Instead of a trailer showing the best moments of the season, it’s another ‘music video’ (if you can call it that?) that shows clues to the major story lines. It’ll make the epic scenes a surprise then :) I though it was done beautifully too.
Can’t wait for July! :D

Soooo my big interest is about katie and adam this season. i dont think that katie will fall for sav (not certain) because it wouldnt make a good story line. I believe adam and katie would be really cute together because with all of fiona and everything adam needs a girl that really loves him and i think they would be insainley cute together. <3 In the promo where it is adam trying to make a move and katie runs away (i did some research) i found out that katie is shy around guys so maybe she's gonna ask marisol for "guy" advice (idk if she knows adam's transgender) hopefully will be able to ship them <333

First off, I love this promo, it’s so…summer!
Okay, I am so happy Jenna and K.C are together and look happy, never thought I would say this, considering how Jenna got K.C, but that was so long ago, and they have become so strong together. I love KENNA! Can’t wait to see them as parents.
And Clare and Jake? Well since Clare is basically the female lead(next to holly j)ofcourse she is going to always have the new and mysterious heart throb. But I have to say, I’m a little sad to see Eclare come to an end. I just remember last year, all the girls became so in love with Eli just off of the “you have pretty eyes” promo clip. I remember how after everything happend with K.C and Clare, she was so broken and kinda insecure, and Eli came and made her feel like she was perfect just the way she was. But I know, I know, Eli has major issues…
Back to Clare and Jake, from this promo, I can’t really tell if he’s into her. He seems like he is kind of charming but deceptive, like the kind of guy who plays games. I don’t know, it seems like clare might like him more than he likes her…Idk about CAKE yet.
Bianca and Drew – I can’t believe there a serious couple. I never knew going down on a guy in a school boiler room was the way to his heart. It just doesn’t make sense to me, but clearly Drew cares about Bianca enough to risk his life for her, so I guess, maybe their love is real???
Alli and Dave, I’ve been waiting for this forever, but never thought it would happen. Dave has had a crush on her for so long and he’s that good guy that Alli needs right now. But um, what happened to sadie??
Eli and Imogen(don’t think I spelled her name right) As much as I will miss ECLARE, I do want to see Eli separate from clare, so I can know who he is. It seems like Imogen is going to fall for Eli and is going to try to “steal his heart” by trying to become like Clare to get his attention? Maybe she wore the jean jacket as a ploy to get Eli to come up to her? I don’t know. It’s clear Eli is very much still in love with Clare, but maybe a new girl would be good for him.
I’m excited to see Marisol. Um, sad to see all the seniors(sav, holly j, fiona) graduate.

I use to like Alley but this fall if she has no explanation 4 going behind her best friends back and kissing her ex. Then I don`t know if I still will like her. I did want Alley and Drew or Dave to get back togeatther. And Kate and Drew seem more on the mature side. I hope this fall episodes will be just as goo and better. I`m sooooo anxious to see and I`m 20 yrs old ha ha ha ha crazy but there good. I REALLY WISH I could act so I Can play good rolls and all. I DON`T LOOK 20, PEOPLE say I look 16 ha ha ha ha….but anyway enough about me…..I can`t wait this fall…..soooooo excited.
