Today was supposed to be a fantastic day. I was supposed to wake up to an e-mail that said my copy of The Boiling Point was on it’s way. Instead I woke up to an e-mail that practically said Amazon has no idea when in the hell it will be shipped.
Yesterday reports started coming in that the release of the Season 10: Part 1 dvd was going to be delayed. Amazon.ca initially changed the release date from May 17th to May 24th in Canada, but now it’s at May 31st. A majority of the majority U.S. retailers now say the release date is May 31st as well (except for Buy.com, who’s just saying the dvd is “temporarily sold out”).
Amazon.com still has the release date set as today, but they’re now saying shipping may take 3 to 5 weeks. So if you pre-ordered with them as I did, they could basically ship the dvd anytime now….though it’s best to just assume it won’t be shipped until May 31st at the earliest.
We don’t really know the reason why the boxset has been delayed, and at the very last minute to say the least. Stephen Stohn couldn’t even get a straight answer from the U.S. distributor, Echo Bridge Entertainment. I joked yesterday that the reason for the delay was because they had to redo the boxset cover because of all the complaints about EClare:

Oh yeah, Stephen said that Season 10: Part 2 will probably be released in September…but who really knows.

i have emails frm echo bride ent. saying (D:Season 10 pt.2) will be sold in mid aug…they told me this months ago, as well as when the TBP was gonna be released and so far they have been right.IM ALWAYS ON TOP OF WHE THESE DVDS ARE RELEASED! i usually go on the fansites to make it known to others who dont know when they will be released…so yea, u can thank me now lol

I feel the exact same way, becuase i [re-ordered it the day it was shown on amazon and now i have to wait longer. ive just been counting the days till today. and now its like another week or so..we werent that close to the release at the time so it didnt feel like forever, but now its like we are sooooo close and its taken away for another two weeks.

Well since it was supposed to be released today, the stores should already have it in their back rooms somewhere. So it’s not like they can make any changes to the DVD, unless the stores ship the the DVDs back.

I will never understand. Wal-Mart is ON THE SAME STREET as my house. Why is this only available online? In order to sell it that way, you at least have to have it somewhere in the building, so why the hell can’t they just put it on the shelves??? @facultybob do you not understand that Teennick has nothing to do with this? The only way the network is associated with the DVD is having their name on the box. And people REALLY ought to stop blaming Stephen Stohn. It’s not his call! He said from the beginning that if it were up to him, The Boiling Point would have been out by Christmas. He’s just as pissed about the cover design. If you want to blame anyone, try taking your anger out on the distributor: Echo Bridge Home Entertainment

Im not sure if this was just like a joke or not, but Stephen Stohn retweeted a script that said “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Part 1” i never heard a song like that, plus it sounds too ridiculous to be an episode, so Im guessing maybe a new mini?

Its getting a little to serious though. Degrassi represents real teens in highschool, and not everyteen in highschool has crazy drama going on in their lives. Degrassi would be amazing if it turned into a comedy/drama!

So… I just noticed that Amazon (and Borders, for that matter) is listing the Season 10, Part 1 DVD set as having two discs. Please tell me that’s a mistake, because 24 episodes on two discs is pretty ridiculous.

they are 2 discs..they are double sided discs..which have 6 episodes on each side..
6 (episodes per side)* 4(sides)= 24episodes
the dvd has commentary for my body is a cage pt.1 and pt.2, bloopers, and two music videos ” the 3 tenner” and “mmr.perfect”…im gonna watch it all for the 1st time tonight!!!!
