You have got to be kidding me. If you’re on social media this weekend chances are at least some part of the suspense of the season finale will be ruined for you. This morning on the MTV show “10 on Top,” out of the blue they showed a very spoilerish clip from the finale:
What’s even more frustrating are the mounds of people who decided to casually talk about it on twitter (and tumblr) without warning. This is exactly why I wanted the episode to be a one-hour finale…I didn’t think it’d get semi-spoiled this quickly.
FYI My thoughts on the clip: If that isn’t the final nail in EClare’s coffin, then I just don’t know anything anymore…I simply can’t see Clare wanting to stay with a guy who nearly kills himself just to get her to be near him.

Whoever works on this over at MTV must be an idiot or something. Why would they include what is probably one of the last scenes of the episode one week before the finale? I couldn’t even avoid it either because right when I got on Twitter I saw tweets about the video. It’s kind of annoying, but I guess it’s what I expected anyway. I knew Eli wasn’t going to die once I heard Munro was working on Season 11, but it kind of kills some of the suspense.

I know, I woke up this morning signed onto twitter and all I saw was the spoiler. I was sooo upset. I have to agree with you Kary, they should have definitely made the season finale an hour long episode it wouldn’t have caused so many problems. && what the heck is wrong with MTV? Geez..
Needless to say I’m not quite as excited for the eclare part of the season finale considering the big spoiler & I’m a huge Eclare fan.

I know we’ve heard 2,001 theories but I’ll put my 2 cents in too (or at least what i hope will happen…in a dramatic sense, not that i want anyone to die) What if Eli was trying to crash, and runs into Sav and Sav dies? not only would that make eli (hopefully) realize what he did have serious consequences, but it would be nice character development for Holly J because she just broke up with him…or ya know Jenna’s baby could die. either one.

-MTV is full of idiots
-I wonder what purpose Eli will serve after this? I mean his role from the start of his time at Degrassi was being Clare’s love interest since that’s over, now what?
-Either it was MTVs editing or Aislinn is just as stupid but I’m 100% certain that new boy is the new love interest for Clare
-I’m also guessing that once Holly J graduates Clare will take up the lead female mantle-but what about lead male?
-I really hope Folly J doesn’t happen! Its the cheap imitation of Palex!
I’m still excited for the finale though because I’m totally clueless about what will happen in the other 2 plots- I really hope Sav can woo back Holly J!

Why are people saying MTV should be sued, and that it’s MTV’s fault? How about asking this question? Why did people at degrassi give MTV clips and info if they didn’t want us to see it? DUH.
I think Stephen Stohn probably WANTED all of this attention for the season finale. I doubt he’s even mad or surprised… now people are talking about degrassi instead of something else. No big deal.
Oh, and I am putting money on Jenna having a stillborn baby… not a spoiler, just a prediction.

Stephen Stohn’s twitter says that he has no idea how the leak happened and that he’s “very upset about what MTV did.” Total bull. Someone had to supply MTV with the footage.

MTV shows episodes of Degrassi during the daytime, so they probably already have the video of Drop The World Part 2. So it’s possible that MTV went through the episode and picked out a scene that they thought would get a lot of attention, without getting Epitome’s permission, and added it into the Degrassi segment.

Where (location wise) and when does MTV air episodes of degrassi? I live in the midwest (in the states) and just looked through MTV, MTV2, and MTV3 to see if I could find any degrassi, and there was nothing.

MTV likely does not air it often, but MTV is owned by Viacom, which, as you may know, is also the same company that owns TeenNick.

It could still be Eli within the hospital. It could be Jenna’s Baby. It could b Fitz. Or it could be a major plot twist, that obviously, hasn’t been shown yet.

DTW part 1 was good. I’m not sure if Anya is going to keep what Fiona told her to keep in secrecy in secrecy. The body language she called Fiona out on she doing it tenfold smh.

I would cry tears of joy if it was Chantay. Her character always annoyed me, and the fact that the writers kept her on longer than most made no sense. She showed up the same time as Darcy. Same grade as either Darcy or Manny and Emma, and yet they just kept retconning the girl. I would not be surprised if they try and claim she’s a junior once all the seniors graduate. “Oh no, NOW she’s a senior!”.

You know, in some weird, twisted way, what Eli did is actually kind of sweet. I know I’m going to get TONS of hater comments because of this, but I am a HUGE EClare supporter. I think that if Clare got Eli to talk to someone, like a therapist, they could have a much healthier relationship, because I’m all for having them together. Also, Eli is really sensative, and you can tell that he really does love Clare. He just needs to talk to someone, and he can be much happier, even though he is still a little insane. I still love hom though(:

What Eli does looks more along the lines of psychotic, trying to force & trap Clare into a relationship. I agree he needs help & maybe Clare can help with that, but that’s absolutely no reason for them to stay together.

I’ve had friends who were maniuplated and guilted into relationships because someone threatened suicide if they didn’t. It’s a horrible way to manipulate someone.
I do like Eli and Clare but no if he cared about her feelings he wouldn’t do that. If he had died he would have probably messed up Clare in the head forever.

If he’s in love with her, that’s no way to show it. It’s emotionally manipulative. He basically just showed her that if she ever broke up with him, it would be possible that he’d commit suicide. He’s guilting her, saying that if she breaks up with him, he’d commit suicide. It’s horrible, and he really needs help.
I can understand loving the character, even with his flaws, but what he’s doing is in no way sweet or even sane.

And even if Eli doesn’t intend for his actions to be manipulative and emotionally abusive — if he is genuinely doing it out of “love” rather than a conscious effort to guilt trip Clare — that still doesn’t make it OK. In real life, emotional abuse in a relationship can quickly escalate into domestic violence. Someone with issues as severe as Eli’s would most likely need YEARS of therapy before they could engage in a healthy relationship.

Yes, you will get crap. When people say obsessive insane behaviors are “sweet” people worry. That is how girls end up in abusive relationships. Eli, sorry to say, was being emotionally abusive. And for how he is, he needs YEARS of help.
This worries me. I have BEEN in relationships like that. It is a living hell. For someone that doesn’t want the person to kill themselves, but cannot take it anymore, it truly is a living hell.

I think Jenna’s baby is going to be stillborn or something. I just dont see a main character dying because we havent grown attached to them yet. A lot of the original cast were around for about 4-7 years, where as ever since the lakhurts people joind degrassi we’ve been introduced to then lost a lot in about 1-2 yrs. I think right now Holly J has the longest running on the show and its still not as long as Manny, Emma, Jimmy, Ashley, etc. So if there is a death for SURE…i think its the baby. The baby will cause more emotions even tho we’re techincally not “attached” to it since its not really born or a heavy character, but if they play their cards right a mix of a stillborn with jenna and kc’s relationship, this can play into some juicy stories during and after the fact (will they stay together? post pardom depression with jenna? jenna trying to get pregnant again to make up for it? etc) for future episodes.

and to elaborate more on my last post. EClare has grown on me more than Eli has as an individual. So them breaking up and all their problems is kinda hard hitting, but Eli by himself…if he died i wouldnt be as hurt as when JT died. I cant even get into Holly J’s “sickness” cuz its almost like, virtually gone (kinda like Emma’s anoerxia. happened at the beginning of the episode, then was over by the end of the episode and only mentioned once again. At least these later seasons the writers have been a LOT better about stemming problems over various episodes, but still not enough) so im not really sympathetic if she randomly dies from that. I would like to see more emotions from Clare as an individual and with her parents and family. Like JT barely had any hard hitting storie lines in my opinion (other than his relationship with Liberty. But other than that, he was more like a Dave…there but kinda not) but his PERSONALITY was wat made us love him. At this point in time, thats why i love Connor and Wesley because their personalities shine through. I’d be more upset if Wesley or Connor dies than Clare, Eli, Alli, Sav, Holly J, Drew or any other of the more “main” character. I’m still a die-hard degrassi fan cuz the drama and story lines are STILL amazing…but i would not be “feeling it” if they killed off a character and not Jenna’s baby. A lot of the characters dont have personalities, just stories. So they need to balance that back out.

If you look at the teennick previews a guy with a gun comes in while KC is holding the baby so maybe one of them gets shot or something but they live and Holly J has to go to the hospital again so they are all in the hospital like when JT died so it will be easy to film.

In the past it was in their contract that an issue had to be resolved in one episode, I guess to show the consequences of their actions?? But yeah, now the writers have freedom so it’s much easier to play out storylines.

A baby is usually diagnosed as stillborn VERY early on. Doctors can almost always tell. And since Jenna’s baby kicked like a mofo… yeah…
Also, HJ has been there the same amount of time as Anya and Sav. All three came at the same time, you know.

Well this spoiler didn’t do anything to me. It told me what I already knew, Eli isn’t going to die. I don’t know why so many of u r suprised, Eli has been confirmed for season 11. All it did to me was share what Eli and Clare actually said in the emergency room. The other promos already gave away that Eli was going to get injured so I don’t really no why everyone is freaking out about this?? I don’t consider this a MAJOR spoiler.

Yes it’s their own fault if they watched it on here, but people are complaining b/c they didn’t find out about it first by coming here. Most people (like me) had it spoiled with ZERO warning on twitter and tumblr Saturday morning…people were quoting what exactly what was said and posting screencaps from the scene on tumblr with no “SPOILER ALERT” tag or anything.

At first I was mad that the MTV promo gave so much away. But now I’m relieved that I’m not expecting anything huge (not that I was anyway I guess).
When I watched All Falls Down I couldn’t enjoy it because I was looking at the time and expecting something big to happen any minute. “Oh Eli will get stabbed soon” “Alli will be raped any minute.” NOPE.
At least now I will not buy into the hype.
I’m hoping Jenna’s and Fiona’s stories will be more surprising.

Well… I can’t say I’m surprised at that spoiler. After reading some of the DTW Part 2 episode summaries, my mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that Eli would crash Morty in an attempt to manipulate Clare into coming back to him. So. fucked. up. And here I was thinking it was just a case of clingy boyfriend intending to commit suicide because his girlfriend left him.

i don’t think they’re going to make jenna’s baby die because if they did, how would degrassi writers expose the difficulties of being a teen mother? it would almost be like they made jenna get pregnant for nothing.. i mean, it’s possible, but i think it’s unlikely. BUT.. then again, they’ve already shown some of the difficulties of teen parenting through the character of mia jones in the earlier seasons. so i have no clue. :P
and the whole eli thing is not entirely shocking. it’s common for cute guys to appear sweet and perfect, and end up being mentally unstable.
