It’s kind of hard to believe that the Season 10 finale is finally here…discuss Part 1 of Drop The World here.
There’s really not much to be said about Part 1…it serves as the setup to the much-anticipated finale. EClare is moving along as expected. Did anyone else laugh when looking at the picture of Eli and Julia? Knowing that it’s completely fake (aka it’s just Munro photoshopped into a stock photo of a random girl) made the photo itself silly.
I enjoyed the Sav/Holly J storyline because their relationship is more complex than they (or we) ever expected it to be. I feel Sav’s pain: even if you do everything right it’s irrelevant if the other person isn’t feeling it. I’m a fan of wanting girls to be straightforward and rip a guy’s heart out (instead of trying to “soften” the blow), but I thought Holly J’s move of telling Sav’s mom that they’re dating was super slick. The only downside so far is that they bring up Sav not standing up to his parents for Anya, only for him to FINALLY do so (in regards to Holly J) and it’s just a passing moment. His parents being ok with him dating Holly J seems slightly out-of-character, but not so much since the whole Alli incident (as well as the fact that Holly J is a top-notch student). Rushing their breakup at the end just means they’re trying to get to a well-time Fiona/Holly J conflict…which I still have no idea how Holly J would react to a love confession from FiFi.
KC/Jenna…they weren’t bad, but they were just there. It’s hard to pinpoint what direction their plot is going (besides signs pointing to Jenna going into labor). “YOU TOLD ME TO PLAY BASKETBALL” will be my excuse for everything from now on.

I felt that Danger Zone was cool as the final ep of Season 8. It pretty much wrapped up plots that were relevant to the series. DGH just gave some spotty closure to peple that had nothing to do with the show anymore, or barely at least, save for Manny.

“you’re in love with holly j aren’t you?” LOL cool writers, what a great build up……… other than that, sav’s parents actually approving of holly j was almost predictable but still all very interesting. i’m glad fiona isn’t taking holly j’s disinterest in sav as interest in her(awkwardddd)
the ending clincher with eli though had my heart racing though. only 6 days and 23 hours to go……….. wahhh );
kc and jenna are just pathetic, she could give birth to her child and compared to these other two plots, i really just wouldn’t care.

I don’t think they’d do that because of Liberty and JT. Even though the baby was put up for adoption, the plots would be too similar for most people. Also, KC hasn’t really had any major conflicts with anyone this season.

There was a frame during the promo that showed Eli from behind sitting in a hospital bed. It shows a brace on his leg, I think. And something around his neck. It’s at the very end and it’s hard to catch.
Also, Eli has some really bony knees.

Look like Eli fell off his rocker and hit a few tree branches on the way down.. He’s the king of intensity, but it’s not surprising. I said before in Jesus etc that his biggest fear is losing people. For me, it’s really bittersweet since he never handle Julia’s death well and his guilt and despair turn into anger, fear and desperation. I give Claire kudos for realizing that being with him wasn’t gonna help him deal with his issues and telling him the truth. But Eli, takes it offense.. He means well but if he don’t stop being in denial and handle his emotions well, He’ll never get better.
Honestly, I was so happy Holly J and Sav broke up. I never like them in the beginning and they was just too different in my opinion. Not only that, Sav got his karma served to him. He really fell for Holly J, even got permission from his parents to date her which was an huge issue and what happens?!?! It blew up in his face and was hurt just like Anya was. Whoomp Whoomp Whoomp!

Dang. That’s my only thought. Dang also if they do break up and Eli dates Imogen I feel like he’ll only date her because he thinks she cuts her wrists (or something else she fakes) and he worries. Then when he finds out and he will break up with her. I also think that the whole Jake/Clare thing isn’t going to work out. Just a thought :)

Ok, so many people are going to disagree with me big time, but I believe that the Clare and Eli plot fell flat. I think that Clare got a little overly uncomfortable. I mean if my bf actually wanted to be with me I would be so happy. I mean I think if they had set it up as clare just wanting to be with Ali for an hour it would have been a little bit more realistic. I just feel that clare overreacted a little bit at the beginning. I actually thought none of the plots were very good, though I like the dynamic between Holly J, fiona and Anya. Sav’s personality is falling way flat. Like most people I really couldn’t care less if Jenna gives birth or not. I think that it is not Jessica’s acting but the role she was given. I hope next week redeems itself.

I really liked this episode. from an Eclare plot i wasn’t expecting much but it was really interesting !
however i don’t like how they completely dropped the owen/anya thing and never mentioned dr.chris again after the first episode? lol idk
this was probably my favorite episode in season 10 seeing as most of them (especially in the boiling point were pretty bad and rushed)
i think that next week Jenna will go into labor at the dance, chantay is the one saying someone call 911 and i have a feeling dave/kc and etc are having a paintbull game or a bb gun war because what reason does dave have to point a gun at K.C.?

FINALLY! Oh my gosh, I thought Part 1 would never get here. In my opinion, this is getting to be better than All Falls Down. If I stuck with this season for 43 episodes of waiting and no big bang in the end, Imma be pissed.

Clare and Eli: So didn’t Eli and Clare say they had found that place randomly on one of their walks. But now I’m guessing that’s not true since Juila and Eli’s names were hidden there. I have no idea what is happening with Julia but they sure are giving her a lot of story considering she isn’t really a character.
Holly J and Sav: I have to say I find it very believable that Holly J would be getting bored with Sav. They had fun at first but he just does not seem like her type. I do feel bad for him though. I’m ready to see Fiona tell HJ how she feels and see how she reacts.
Jenna and KC: KC was so sweet in season 8. Who would have guessed he’d be a huge douche bag after that? And in season 9 Jenna had no storyline told from her point of view. But now I’m starting to somewhat enjoy her since she is getting a lot of character development.
I’m not expecting anything HUGE for DTW Part 2. I’m just hoping it’s good. So far DTW P1 seems better than AFD P1 was.
But I am almost forgetting that soon we’ll be waiting almost 3 months for Degrassi again. :(

Omg, I am so sick of Eclaire. I hope in Season 11 they will not focus on them so much.
Jenna’s baby could be an intense storyline and so many other things could have been developed…Riley had literally one big story since Degrassi came back and that was dropped rather quickly….He hasn’t even had a B or C plot.
Anya and Dr. Chris could have been something intense
Alli’s storyline could be more intense.
A storyline with Adam…and no i don’t mean something dealing with Fiona. For him to be the most unique character, they barely develop him.
The Drew, Riley rivalry….began and ended so quickly.
I am just disappointed because in the boiling point, I enjoyed degrassi and Eclaire were cute….now in All fall downs, it’s been about Eclaire the most and I don’t like that.
All in all, it was a decent episode…even if Eli makes me sick…i do like Claire and the Holly J plot was okay but again, i feel like her health scare has just been brushed over and not really mentioned….and Jenna’s plot was cute. I like Jenna.
Hopefully, Degrassi will be better in Season 11

1, This episode was kinda lame. It’s repetitive to what happened before between Eli/Clare. The same crap just happens to them. But i’m looking forward to the new episode – whether it’s worth the hype or not.
2, I started a new Tumblr blog to sort of make fun of how simple the new episode’s plots are. It’s reeeally new so it’s basic and empty, but I’ve been meaning to give my two cents for quite some time.

hmmm… my opinion on this episode was, pretty good :)
eli and clare are so intense its like…wow. but the way it was set up in promos, it looked like eli was being all freaky and clingy, but in the show, shes showing irritation towards him in the beginning for no reason…i kinda feel bad for him, because i can tell hes trying to stay on her good side.
example: on the car, he was like “i thought you’d be more excited” and she got irritated and said “what more do you want, we’re going.” so he tried to drop it with a smile, which she barely returned.
now, he went crazy with shooting the picture. i think he shot himself out of the pic, not julia! anyways, good episode.

I wouldn’t say for no reason, it’s obvious she doesn’t want to be credited for the story he wrote, as it creeps her out.
Not to mention the fact that he makes fun of her for liking “normal” things and “happy” songs, it’s very negative. No one wants to date someone who is negative and judgmental towards what they like and forces their subculture onto them.
That’s why people of two different teenage subcultures normally don’t mesh very well. Maybe in the adult world, but there’s a reason why subcultures date into their own subcultures in high school.

The past few seasons it seems there is always one couple that is focused on more. But when we have a season with 44 episodes it’s pretty overwhelming. I love Eli and Clare but goodness it seems like they are really taking over the show.
Thank God we didn’t have this many episodes in season 8 when Peter and Mia were the big couple they wrote for.
Though it seems the power couples they write usually end the following season. Pia, Dolly J, I’m wondering if Eclare is ending in season 11.

I think the person who will die is KC…I think he will kill himself because he finds out that Jenna’s baby isn’t his. There is a hint at this because the episode Dont Let Me Get Me Part 2 Chantay asks Jenna if the baby is K.C.’s and she hesitates for the tiniest second and says yeahh. Just a little awkward looking to me.

The biggest thing to come from this episode wasn’t Eli’s expected hissy fit. Nor hunting with his white trash dad, which stuck out like a sore thumb and was only included for the gun aspect.
Clearly, the most crucial and jaw dropping moment of this episode was Clare’s two left feet dancing.

I thought (though it was HORRIBLE dancing) that it made a good point. We forget that clare is only 15 and eli is only 16. Eli is always talking about forever (because he lost Julia so soon and he’s haunted by that) but Clare wants to be a normal teen who does normal things like random dancing-shes not ready for the seriousness (and major baggage) that Eli brings to the table

Excellent point, it really highlighted their differences. Not that it was always a bad thing, but they really did get too serious too fast. They’re breaking up for sure, but they need like twenty feet of space from each other after all the intensity of their relationship, haha. Makes me wonder if they’ll stay friends, considering Eli did call Clare his best friend.

The sad thing is, watching Eli freak out in this ep (Grilling Adam for answers, “suprising” Claire while telling her mom half-truths) reminds me alot of mea few years ago. And seeing how this plot unfolds makes me anxious.

I think Sav is going to die. There hasn’t been too much of him in any story line this season, so it would come as a surprise. Also, Sav is graduating next year and going off to ‘music school’ so there would be no way to continue a major storyline. Holly J and Declan could have one, as they will be at Yale together. Aislinn and Munro are both confirmed for season 11..it won’t be either of them.

There can’t be a Declan story line, he is off the show because he is busy working on another project. And how exactly will Sav die? He didn’t upset anyone, there is nothing foreshadowing it. And he is not one to commit suicide. They’re not going to kill someone off just cause, there has to be a reason behind it.

For sure. Makes his situation with Clare even more fucked up. It really is sad how much Julia has been a constant hindrance to their relationship from the beginning. It sucks that Eli and Clare got so into it, and Clare is only now realizing that everything has been about Julia. I will say though that I’m glad for continuity’s sake that it’s ultimately Julia that ends their relationship. I always felt that Clare didn’t give Eli enough time to deal with his Julia issues, and now they’re both paying for it.
