i thought this was a very sad episode.. between Wesley not reaching his goal, Holly J being very sick, and the fact that Alli ran away.. this just makes this episode very depressing.. i thought it was cute how Clare wrote on the find Alli page ‘come home Alli’ that might have been the only happy part of the episode.. and the only funny part was when Dave announced Wesley’s pogo stick thingy.. and that was only remotely funny

Idk why but i think she might be pregnant by Declan. They dropped a hint saying not by Sav. I doubt it but I don’t know what else it could be. And we already have Jenna as the pregnant girl. Idk maybe I just want Declan and Holly J back together. I hope shes okay it would totally suck if she got killed of the show.

Somehow I knew right away that Wesley was going to go for the pogosticking world record. Me thinks pogobat from youtube is still trying to work on that.
And yay for Wesley having his own plot instead of latching on to that annoying Dave.
I don’t understand what Holly J’s waiting for. Just go to the damn hospital and get checked out. I mean, it’s free anyway. As for her illness, I don’t know what it could be. I don’t know how time passes in Degrassi so I figured that if she was pregnant she would have missed her period a few times over by now but maybe not. Since it has its own storyline devoted to it, I’m betting that it’s more complicated than “stress”.
I liked Alli’s storyline well enough this episode except for the bit where Kayla asks if Johnny’s problem has gone home yet. Seriously? She’s smart enough to go to university; she should have known to open the door, look around AND THEN start talking. There’s no excuse for that. They should have made Alli drop something from behind… something. And while she was out of sight trying to retrieve this object, Kayla could have came in and asked her question. Yes, that would have been a lot better.

Has anyone else seen the commerical where they have Holly J. getting on Chantay and Anya about Power Squad sucking and Clare maybe trying out? Holly j looks a lot better in this episode so pretty sure her sickness isn’t going to last very long.

I actually didn’t particularly care for this episode, ONLY because it seemed that all 3 plots were setting up for the next section. It’s fine when one plot is mainly used as a vehicle to set up the next episode, but all three? I just wasn’t entirely interested. I kept hoping something would happen, but nothing really did.
But, that being said, I am looking forward to next week when everything happens. Even Wesley (who is my one true love) – I think I may be most excited about his plotline… is that bad?

definently symptoms on mono in holly j, always tired.. being sick…. but still wanting to push yourself…even if you have no energy. I had slight mono in fifth grade ( i did not get it by kissing anyone i must of got it off of someone in disney). I only had it slightly, but i couldn’t get out of bed for a week. Just sat there sucking on popsicles…but still i tried to do my homework.
in other news…am i the only one that freaked out at the JT thing??? Well then.

Wow, I must say I really enjoyed Holly J’s storyline. I am curious to see what this illness really is. I’m sure it’s nothing to serious, as I have not heard anything saying that Charlotte Arnold is leaving Degrassi.
As much as it was nice seeing Jonny again, I really thought Alli was being very annoying. I just wish she would go back to her parents and deal with it then run away.

I cannot even describe how pissed off I am that Holly J is going to self-medicate, especially after EVERYTHING that happened with Fiona. Hypocrite much? Ugh, makes me so mad.
Anyways, I’m thinking Holly J has lupus, or some sort of chronic, life-threatening disease. It makes sense, and she definitely has the symptoms. I almost flipped the fuck out when the show implied that Declan impregnated her. One because this show doesn’t need ANOTHER pregnancy, and two because it’s just jaw-dropping ridiculousness, haha. I really feel sorry for her though; it saddens me that she’s still trying to reach this impossible idea of being perfect that she and everyone else around her expects her to live up to.
I’m pretty sure Chantay is one of those characters that I’ll just never learn to like, hahah. So basically I was not happy how Chantay-centric this episode was, blegh.
Johnny DiMarco’s return was even better than I expected it to be. I never realized how much I enjoyed having his character around until it was gone. Love seeing old faces return. Oh, and college has done the boy well because Johnny is looking goooooood. In all seriousness though, I’m glad Degrassi brought him back because I never thought they gave him and Alli proper closure. I’m also glad they redeemed his character because that’s what I always hoped for. Also LOVED the reference to JT. Miss his presence on the show always. <3 And do I detect jealousy from this Kayla girl or is it just me…?
I don't really care for Wesley's story, but I adore him and his story brings some much needed lightheartedness the show's been lacking lately, haha.
Oh, and I totally have a soft spot for Sav; he reminds me so much of my own brother. I couldn't stand him when he was with Anya; now I can't help but love how he's such a decent guy with a good heart. I just love that he still reaches out to Holly J even after dealing with all the stress of trying to find Alli. It shows how unselfish and caring he really is.

From what I just read on Degrassi Wiki, season 10 is going to end with a cliffhanger where a character dies. The 11th season will pick up during their spring break, with 24 episodes leading up to graduation. The second half will be the start of the new school year and it has been almost certain that Eli will live through Drop the World part 2.

The illness, don’t look if you want to be surprised.
I wasn’t going to tell what I think the illness is but I’m not sure 100% if I’m right. If you look at the signs: tired all the time, confusion, bad memory, trouble concentrating, and sore neck they all say thyroid problems. Whether it’s thyroid disease or cancer, I’m not sure if its the same for cancer but you could webMD it. I might not be right but I have thyroid problems and had all those symptoms so It got me thinking right when the promos were showing her.

I don’t like how they are setting up the Holly J plot at all. 2 days later and I’m still annoyed by it! The number one thing I cannot understand why she hasn’t been to a damn doctor yet, especially in Canada. As someone without health insurance, it kills me whenever people don’t take advantage of dirt cheap health care.
The next thing to anger me was the attitude of Ms. Oh- any decent teacher would look at someone like Holly J and think that something is WRONG, not act all disappointed like she’s not trying. Holly J looks all disheveled and tired and this bitch is telling her to try harder- crazy. She should be fired.
Now at the end of it all we have Holly J crying, because apparently being unable to run 5k on short notice is a sure sign that something is wrong with you. I don’t care how young you are, a 3 mile run isn’t something most people suddenly do one afternoon with no warning. Maybe I’m not the best judge of this since I have horrible asthma.. but in the high schools around here, the most any average student would have to run in phys ed was 1 mile. The only kids who didn’t seem worn out by this were those who played sports anyway- I don’t remember Holly J doing anything more athletic than spirit squad.
So basically I’m irritated that this episode contains a lot of fabricated drama. Any normal teenager with these symptoms would say, “jeez, I might have the flu or something, maybe I should go to a doctor and see about gettin me some antibiotics.” You don’t start freaking out until a doctor tells you it might be worse. I was expecting it to go that way, because it would make sense that way. She thinks she has the flu, goes to a doctor, it’s something more. If they wanted it to seem more serious without doing something like that, she should be coughing up blood or something. I guess whatever she has doesn’t have any very unique or dramatic symptoms, which is why all of this just seems silly. The storyline of Holly J’s sickness has been set up by the buzz around it. The things that happened in this episode, the reactions to what looks like a cold.. it just seemed random.

I disagree with you a bit there. Though the show has started to lack much feasible material, Holly J’s plot isn’t entirely about the fact of bad writing, it’s about Holly J’s pride, and her need to be a perfectionist, and though it has died down since her initial appearance on the show, you can tell that it’s still a characteristic. Just my 2 cents.

Degrassi likes to touch on things that happen commonly amongst teens and teens are mostly either aware or unaware that from kissing people you can get something like mono. It’s that easy. And it makes you EXTREMELY tired, sick, sore throat, etc. She has all the signs of that. I have a friend with Lupus and I really doubt they’d make Holly J. get a disease like that. They wanna warn the youth of today about the dangers of things like hint maybe when she first started dating Declan he was a carrier for Mono because of all the girls he had a past with? Mono would make her unable to go to school for a while, I knew a kid with mono and he was out for like a month and a half. Her being out of school could jeprodize her ability to graduate leading to a whole other story line completely
