i remember reading the review for All Falls Down and the mentioning of how clare was telling eli at the end that if his actions were going to keep cause a whole lotta crap and not getting revenge, she didn’t think she would be with him. then i saw the muchmusic promo, with him going “BACK OFF!” shoving fitz. eli is likeable with his humor and playful side, but his switch to angry, vengeful, and what appeared to be clingy side may turn old if it progresses later on (4/22 anybody?), like the Riley-schism before he came out. But I may be wrong after tonight. We’ll see. Keep up the great reviews and newsfeeds Kary!

        Right?

“Me and you… we have a spiritual connection.”

I laughed so hard, omfg. I know the guy who plays Fitz is a much better actor than that. It’s OBVIOUS that Fitz is insincere.

I have no idea how this Clare/Eli/Fitz storyline is going to play out. I’d have to say that it will settle down/resolve next week for the time being. But I think something will happen later, like Fitz making a move on Clare and Eli coming after him that will anger the hell out of Fitz. And then Eli’s over-protectiveness for Clare will go into overdrive and that’s when she’ll tell him “you’re suffocating me.”

And then, I don’t know, maybe Fitz will want to hurt Eli, possibly even playing a part in the supposed “car accident” he’ll get into. And thus, Eli will be proven correct that the “I found Jesus” sham was bologne.

I’m not totally on board with the whole religious Fitzy thing. I think it’s great he found Jesus and whatnot, but he seems…off. Like, less awesome. I don’t like that. >:c

Can I just say that Eli is a little b*tch. I’m literally tired of his character, he gets angry in a flash, then he has witty banter and a playful attitude, then he’s back to being angry, then he’s crying. He’s the crappy & less entertaining version of Craig.

I always find it weird that people categorize Eli-Clare as a Bad Boy/Good Girl relationship. I really don’t think Eli is a ‘Bad Boy’. So yeah he wears dark clothes and leather, but I don’t think he particularly tries to cultivate an image of being dangerous or even tough, really. Mostly he seems just introverted. He has issues he needs to deal with and he has a temper, but his aggression mostly comes out in very specific, personal circumstances — it’s not like he goes around being belligerent. On the whole, he’s actually very open about caring for people that matter to him — especially if you follow the character Twitter accounts. And speaking of that, half his tweets are about poetry, art, or the books he’s reading … again, not very much in the Bad Boy vein of things, I’d say.
I don’t know … I’m not trying to start an argument about this, it’s just something that perplexes me in the Eclare Discourse, so to speak :)

I have to admit, I really like that episode and mainly because I thought the writers did a great job keeping their characters consistent. I’ve noticed that most people have been extreme one way or another – either think Clare is an idiot or that Eli is insane. But, I think that it’s just good writing because they’ve set this up with their characters from day 1.

I mean, Clare is an overly trusting and forgiving person -you’ve seen it countless times. From when KC was a dick and used her to get good grades, to when Alli was on her Holly J. tirade, and even Fitz in All Falls Down, she’s always been someone who’d forgive and trust people, whether that be good for her or bad for her.

And Eli… well, his character speaks for himself. He actually reminds me a lot of someone I know. The sort of “Screw me once, well fuck you it’s over”. And he’s already had one girlfriend die, so his overprotectiveness is sort of a girlfriend.

I dunno… I kinda appreciate the writers here, making the it so close. I guess I’m a little bothered with the “Clare doesn’t deserve Eli, she’s such a dumbass” comments that I see. I mean, I know I can’t stand it when guys get insanely protective either. It’s sweet to an extent, but there’s a moment when it becomes too much, you know?

Wow. All of that to say props to the writers for keeping the characters consistent.

IT was mines too. I didn’t like how Alli tried to blame Drew for EVERYTHING but she was right that he had a part to play and if he didn’t come into her life the chain of events leading up to her leaving Degrassi would have never happened(well they could of but maybe not at such a fast rate)
It was weird though how Sav is immediately off the hook for all the things he did and Alli is the bad child. Their family always needs to have one child to put pressure on, and not trust. Now it’s Alli’s turn lol.

Part of me wants to chalk up Fitz’s awful dialogue (seriously, he sounded like he ought to have been thumping a bible in the Ozarks) to him having ulterior motives, and preying on Clare’s devotion to her faith as a means of getting her away from Eli.

However, it’s more likely that he was in fact being sincere, and that the lines can be attributed to some really AWFUL writing. Degrassi always manages to find a way to soften its bully characters, and it’s plausible that the writers wanted to turn the tables on Eli and Fitz during the second half of the season, with Eli presented as a villain, and Fitz as the good-hearted underdog. What intrigues me is wondering how the writers are going to keep audiences sympathetic towards Eli in the episodes to come, and for the rest of Munro’s tenure on the show? We’ve seen creepy and possessive boyfriends in Rick, and while he was more of a lost soul, and not really black and white “evil”, he wasn’t exactly someone viewers warmed up to. He really had no other option other than to be killed off.

But seriously…I hope that Fitz and Clare’s theological discussions are done offscreen…I don’t think that I can stomach any more of Chaplain Fitz’s syrupy sermons. Clare’s faith is pretty subtle. She isn’t a preacher, and respects people’s choice to believe what they want to. But if Fitz’s dialogue in this episode is a sign of things to come for his character, he’s better off with Fred Phelps and his family circus.

Fred Phelps? Really? Yeah, Fitz’s lines weren’t terribly well written, but he didn’t exactly say anything all that crazy or offensive. “I love Jesus” and “I need you to forgive me” aren’t even close to actual Bible-thumper lines. No insulting, no condemnation, nothing. Just a guy either trying to get himself back on track or win Clare over (I have no idea if he’s being sincere…he’s done bad things, but hey, he was also nice to Clare at the dance). I’m curious as to what’s in store.

I didn’t exactly get an overbearing “preachy” feeling from Fitz. All he said was that he found Jesus and explained why he was working at The Dot. He wasn’t trying to get her to come to church with him or quoting Bible passages- he was just being honest. I think it’s really a matter of interpretation, as everything in life is. Fitz is a new convert and the ‘shine’ is still on him. People who have risen out of a negative thought pattern have a tendency to want to shout it from the rooftops. It’s only natural to want others to feel as good as they do, whether spiritually motivated or not.

Does this remind anyone else of what went on with Spinner and Darcy. I feel like they are going to completely recycle the plot. In terms of the episode I felt like it fell flat. I am really beginning to like Drew, and I like his connection with Bianca, but Ali has been acting like this since before Johnny. Also I think that for Jenna and KC to become interesting characters again something really big has to happen to them. I am so sick of them and their “Im not ready to have a child”shtick. Maybe she has the child prematurely or something. I just am finding them loosing my interest

Dude, I LOVE Bianca. I know that she was a b*tch to Adam but I think that was motivated by a feeling of betrayal. She put her trust in someone and that trust was dashed. This seems to be a recurring theme with her. I think Bianca wants to be loved but tries to use sex as an outlet for affection. This propagates a ‘bad rep’ and suddenly she becomes the girl you go to for a ‘good time’ instead of the girl you go to for a relationship. It’s difficult to make people (or even the girl in question) see aything different once this kind of pattern is established. It’s a method of conditioning- you begin to believe the social label. The thing with Drew interests me because I feel it could be very beneficial for Bianca, show her she’s more than just a number on a bathroom wall.

Alli does what a lot of people do- she blames personal choice on physical stimuli. She has totally lost sight of the fact that she is in control of her own actions. No one held a gun to her head and said, “Go to the Boiler Room with Owen,” or “Have sex with Johnny.” She made those decisions herself. Even so, I think Alli feels she has no other way out a lot of the time. She’s been told what to do her whole life- she feels controlled and truly believes that being ‘herself’ means doing the total opposite of what her parents want her to do. She will have to ‘lose’ everything and hit rock bottom before she can start fresh and build her own life. Watching her spiral out of control is certainly going to be interesting.

Can i just say ive had it up to my head with fangirls (and im a pretty tall girl). i was scrolling the comments on youtube under the vid for next weeks ep. and i found myself appalled. everyones acting like fitz is such a horrible guy when in reality he really isnt. dating back to when Try Honesty was a new episode i thought eli was overeacting on numerous occassions. the whole reaso this whole rivalry started was because fitz ripped the skull off morty’s hood, after fitz wouldnt move. i remeber eli insulted fitz over a parking spot. really eli? and when fitz tried to end it eli tricked him and got him arrested. back to the dance all fitz wanted was a n apology. wat did eli do? he poisoned him. fitz tried to bury the hatchet many times but eli was being eli and refused to let it go. dont get me wrong, fitz has done some pretty bad things but fangirls are so blinded to the fact that eli has done some pretty bad things too. apperently to them their precious eli can do no wrong. i luv eli to but come on people.

I am right there with you. I mean, I enjoy Eli’s character as a whole because he has the same sarcastic humor as I do, but (to quote someone else on this website) he can go batshit crazy.

And honestly? I do think that Fitz is more in the right in this situation. I mean, sure, scaring them with a knife was a shitty thing to do and all – mainly on the level that Clare got dragged into more than anything else – but I think people forget that Eli poisoned him. POISONED. HIM.

I mean, isn’t that more dangerous than scaring someone with a knife? Ipecac is some NASTY stuff too. And that seemed to be swept under the rug because he’s pretty. I just can’t wrap my mind around it.

I think everyone will ignore the bigger picture of Jesus Etc 1 & 2 because they are too concerned with how “omg cute” Munro is. But Degrassi hasn’t talked about Christianity before or after Darcy until now. It’s something I have to deal with in my life every day being that my parents are hardcore Christians, and I think it’s good Degrassi is finally discussing religion again.

I’m glad to see that they are discussing it again. To me, Clare is a much more realistic Christian than Darcy. Darcy’s virginity issues were just annoying. Clare cares about her religion but obviously doesn’t allow it to rule her entire life. I’m a Christian, so it’s nice to see them portrayed as normal everyday people who just happen to have a different set of beliefs.

How was Alli’s plot on this episode? I don’t have teennick and no internet. And teennick mobile totally sucks. Fml, lol now on the topic how was the overall episode? And btw does anyone know a site that shows full degrassi episodes, that works for mobile phones? And random but I really feel for Conor, he has had basically nothing this season aside from lovequeen16 or whatever she’s called lol. Let’s hope season 11 benefits him more.

Um… Alli’s plot was more Sav’s plot with Alli in it. Sav is making a demo of his live music for University and decides to get a drummer. Bad thing is, Drew is by far the best drummer in the school.

Even though Alli feels like Sav’s the only one on his side, he decides that for the benefit for his future, he’s going to do music with Drew, which of course Alli finds out about. Alli starts yelling at Sav for it later, then Sav just flips out and screams – some of it true, some of it really harsh – and then Alli storms out.

I mean, it was a fine plot, but I feel like it was more setting up next week than anything else.

Also, does anyone think Fiona may stay on Degrassi for another season, like all of season 11? It would make sense in a way, I mean she took her mid terms drunk. So she could stay another year to up her marks. This may just be the Fiona lover in me, who wants her to stay on the show the most humanily possible. lol

Eli and Fitz, belligerent sexual tension anyone? I wasn’t even TRYING to go all slash fangirl on them, but goddamn it they just take care of it anyway. I cannot be the only one who noticed it. I mean, it’s probably just the actors. But still, they act like they have more chemistry than Paige and Alex did.

I’m so sick of Eli, he’s a whiny ass bitch. “Ooh don’t leave me, my girlfriend DIED.” Bitch, please! Life’s going to pass you by and you’ll just become a cliched representation of the depressed bad boy –Oops, looks like that already happened.

Clare is a nice, naive character, always loved her but she needs a plot to herself.

Fitz…. he turned around, that’s cool and all, but did he used to live in the same hick town as jenna? he came across like such a hick, i swear.

Alli… was Alli, Sav is kinda in the middle, and I wanna be the ham in a Drianca sandwich.

    Looking forward to next week!!!

Oh, i forgot KC and Jenna lol
Whoever said babysitting a 6 year old won’t help with a baby is SO. RIGHT. They’re such losers…. I hope Jenna dies in childbirth and KC has to raise the kid himself, or like someone else said, they should lose the baby and Jenna gets depressed while KC is guilty because he’s relieved.

I really think they’re rushing the rest of season 10. The weekly episodes are too short and they’re not putting so much depth anymore into the plotlines. For the eclare story they left them happy and whatnot at the end of when love takes over and all of a sudden Eli is phsyco

Wow, I’m really shocked at the majority of the responses. I’m surprised that everyone seems to be taking Fitz’s side just because he found Jesus and turned over a new leaf and Eli needs to chill. Don’t any of you feel that Eli had a right to be angry and cautious? The guy pulled out a knife on him, yes I know because Eli was a jerk towards him throughout the Boiling Point. Plus Clare is his girl….wouldn’t you be protective if you saw your girl talking to the guy who could’ve seriously hurt you?

Honestly Clare was the one who annoyed me in this episode.

Last, I’m so happy that Sav told Alli that her life was her fault and not anyone else’s.

Eli DESERVED to get a knife pulled on him. Eli was just as bad as fitz in that feud, or did people forget that the only reason Fitz even pulled the knife was because Eli poisoned him. even Clare admitted it.

I’m not going to bother with the Jenna and K.C. plot as nothing this season has made me like them… AND the ep seems to just be set up for next week for them.

While this weeks half of the plot focused on Sav, I think overall the plot is Alli’s again. Continuing from last set of eps and her trying to get her life in gear. Sav was really harsh on Alli but I enjoyed every scene of it because, God, he’s right. Alli is still blaming it all on anyone and everyone else BUT ‘she screwed up.’ The only bit that isn’t her fault (and it still IS because she decided to go along with the girl’s stunts) is the caught smoking thing.

Sav can feel sorry for her, but he can’t screw up his future because she wants to hold a grudge against Drew forever.

On to a Flare for Eclare. Eli’s not being comfortable around Fitzy is justified and understandable, the trouble in this is that it isn’t focused around himself. He’s one car engine away from being a sparklepyre when it comes to controlling about Clare. Given his last girlfriend died, not surprising he’d have issues.

Fitzy’s turn around I think could be legitimate, and I hope they don’t rehash Spinner/Darcy this way. What I do hope is that Fitz becomes obsessed with Clare to justify some of Eli’s concerns, but not address the underlying issue in his actions (yet, that’ll come later). Fitz’s heart is in the right place but he’d still be a total psycho. Fitz is too good an antagonist to waste turning totally good just yet. Unless they plan to bring in a new villain or two next season (please do that, the only villain we’d have left is Owen, and he’s just a pig).

Okay, this may be me totally grasping for straws, but first I genuinely though Fitz was trying to make right, but then I noticed… in the episode, it sorta looks like Clare’s the one constantly reaching out to him, but…

When he first approached Clare at Degrassi, he ran as SOON as Eli drove up. I mean, he could’ve easily tried to talk to Eli about forgiveness too right there if it meant so much. And in the promos, going to Clare’s house specifically? Now I’m not sure his motives anymore. I actually like that though. Usually I can predict what happens on Degrassi, but I genuinely am not sure which way Fitz is going.

I think he ran as soon as Eli drove up because let’s face it, Eli gets way too defensive way too fast. Talking to Eli on school property could have caused a scene and then Mr. Simpson would have gotten involved and consequently Fitz would have been in big trouble for stepping onto school property. Plus, Clare seemed more reasonable and easier to talk to first.

I personally don’t see why people are giving Eli such a hard time.

Yes, poisoning Fitz was wrong, but dude, it’s not like Fitz died or had to go to the hospital. All he did was throw up.

Fitz pulled a KNIFE on Eli, which was a bit drastic. I mean, since all the poison did was make him throw up, I think he should’ve done something less drastic, like just throwing a couple of punches at Eli.

And then Fitz coming and pulling all this “I found God” blah blah. I mean, he could be telling the truth, and if Clare wants to believe him then I say let her. She’s always been to naive and trusting anyway.

However, Eli is NOT being a “whiny little bitch” as people are calling him. I can understand where he came from for these three reasons:

    1. Eli is an atheist. Of course he’s going to freak out when his enemy suddenly believes the same thing as his girlfriend; he’s going to be scared that his girlfriend might want Fitz more than himself because of Fitz’s supposed religious beliefs.
    2. His ex-girlfriend DIED and he blames himself for it. Enough said.
    3. The dude pulled a knife on him. Again, Eli could’ve been a little nicer to Fitz when he apologized and NOT poisoned him, but I think Fitz took it too far. =/

That’s all I have to say.

Fitz and Eli did the EXACT same thing in the Boiling Point: they both tried to use fear as a way to control another person. How can you overlook the fact that Eli made someone physically ill and take issue with Fitz pulling a knife, which he didn’t even USE? The methods were different but the intent was identical- they both tried to wound each other’s pride. Eli by making Fitz look ‘weak’ in front of the school and Fitz by exposing Eli’s ‘weakness’ in front of Clare. The action was equal, dude. Case closed.

I used to love Eli, before I discovered what a hypocritical nitwad he is. He tolerates anything that fits in with his definition of ‘secular rebellion’ but criticizes everything else. He had no problem whatsoever with Adam’s revelation because it ‘threatens’ society yet he’s a condescending little punk when it comes to Clare’s faith. Tolerate across the board dickface, everyone has their own individual right to believe what they want to and by undermining the beliefs of others, you become just like the repressive people you dislike. And let’s not forget that Clare’s faith has played a huge part in who she is. If Eli loves her he has to own up to the idea that Clare’s beliefs have had some bearing on her character and that the traits he admires have been formulated in part by her spiritual interpretation.

Atheism does not give you the right to act like a terd.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who bursted out laughing when Fitz was all “I found Jesus.” Hahaha, it really does come off as bullshit. I’m not sure whether it’s because he’s being insincere, it’s bad acting, or it’s just shitty writing in general, but I’m withholding judgment on whether Fitz really is reformed or not until the next episode. I really wouldn’t be surprised if this was all some ploy to further screw over Clare and Eli. Then again, he’s been gone long enough that an actual reformation isn’t totally out of the realm of reason. I just wish it wouldn’t come off as so contrived.

Speaking of Eli, people are being WAY too hard on him. It’s been clear from the beginning that Eli harbors a very dark side to his personality, much darker than I think most people realize; he’s not just being a “whiny little bitch.” I have to say, I’m honestly terrified for Clare because she’s going to get the worst end of whatever results from his behavior. Eli’s definitely got severe mental issues (apart from the hoarding). All of this just stems back to what happened with Julia, which I’m inclined to believe the truth behind it is a lot more darker than Eli’s willing to let on. In any case, I can’t blame him for the way he’s acting because I really don’t think he’s completely in control of his own mind. If anything, I pity him.

If anything, the person I’m annoyed with the most in this situation is Clare. She WOULD be the naive and overly trusting one time and time again… I hope it’s not just me, but I think she forgave Fitz far too quickly. Actually, I’m starting to think she forgave Eli too quickly for what happened at Vegas night too. I think she just tries so hard to find the good in both of them that she can’t see just how screwed up both of them are. It doesn’t surprise that she’s going to eventually want to separate herself from all of it for fear of her own well-being.

I think that people are really missing the point of this episode. This episode is basically showing all the EClare fans that the relationship isn’t perfect, and actually has flaws. Differences in religion or religious views is actually really big, and I thought this episode a really big precursor to conflicts Eli and Clare will have in the future.

I mean, Clare was able to forgive Fitz because forgiveness is part of her faith. Eli, on the other hand, doesn’t have his faith telling him to forgive Fitz. This alone will most likely cause problems in their relationship. Eli also indirectly called Clare’s religion “crap”, which is a huge no-no. That’s just something you don’t say to a religious person. Even though differences in perspectives is good, even needed, in relationships, this is one difference that would take a lot to overcome.

This new leaf Fitz has turned will cause a problem for Eli and Clare, even if nothing comes of a relationship between Fitz and Clare.

I mean Fitz is no doubt trying to steal Clare but come on getting him arrested and poisoning him? Like seriously if he really cared about Clare he would have stopped when she asked him to. Fitz wanted to end the feud twice and Eli of course had to “teach him a lesson.” Such crap. Fitz wasn’t going to hurt him that wasn’t his intention. And he tried apologizing to Eli and Eli didn’t want to accept it. Oh then every body gets on Fitz because the fight club incident. Adam is still physically a boy and they didn’t want to hurt him. So Adam hit Fitz over that. But then no one likes to get on Drew that he is hanging out with Bianca. The person who is responsible for Adams secret at. Smh i love how people make up excuses for all of the good people on the show who can do bad things and get way with it. Fitz is obviously going to pursue her, which I’ll be interested to watch, but if Clare gives in… sj;alfkjasfl As horribly cliche as the whole good girl/troubled boy coupling is, I was at least able to believe in Eclare because that was a couple that actually took the time to get to know each other and connect on a deep level before officially dating. That was refreshing to see in Degrassi as opposed to half of the other current couples which are either completely superficial or out of nowhere.

Eli/Clare/Fitz: Both Eli and Fitz deserved what they got. Neither of them would end the feud civily and continued to push each other. I find myself understnading where Eli is comming from but I’m not taking sides. They are both messed up. Fitz seemed insincere (may be due to bad writing or bad acting, not sure which, maybe both) and Eli seemed overreactive. At this point the only healthy thing to do is get therapy for both of them.

Ali/Sav/Drew: Sav is right, Ali did all this to herself, but there was no need to be so harsh. However, I think he needed to be harsh to get his point across. I find it interesting how sweet Bianca was towards Drew and Sav and how Ali didn’t even acknowledge her presence. Bringing up the existing tension between Drew and Ali was an odd choice but it was interesting when Drew said he’s trying to move on (as in he hasn’t already and therefore Bianca is a rebound and might get hurt in the end becuase she truely likes him).

KC/Jenna: Totally uninterested. I’m thinking the only reason they have this plot is to buildup to the birth (or possible miscarrage of the baby)

Eli-I understand why he’s being so protective of Clare with Fitz. For goodness sake, he was threatened with a knife by him, and his last girlfriend DIED. It’s cute when a boyfriend wants to protect his girlfriend-but there’s a limit. And Eli crossed the limit BIG time. Eli needs to understand that Clare has to do whatever she pleases, whether he likes to or not. And if she wants to talk to Fitz, he has a right to be worried, but not go all super-overprotective-batshit-crazy.
Clare-Needs to be a bit more worried about Eli. I mean when he can switch from being happy to seriously mad is seriously scary.
Alli-Needs to stop blaming other people and blame the only person responsible for her actions-herself. Was I the only one who stood up and cheered when Sav told her off? She was messing up LONG before Drew. Nobody made her dress like that, date Johnny, have SEX with Johnny, go into the boiler room with Owen, send naked photos of Bianca around the school, or fight her. She needs to get a clue-fast.
Sav-Thank goodness he finally grew a pair! He had every right to hire Drew to record a song he was sending to his dream COLLEGE (not some stupid contest, but a to place that could change his life), no matter what Ally thought. Throughout the series, he’s pretty much been a stand up guy, who always tries to help Ally deal with their crap. And now he needs her to be understanding, and she flips out…WTF!
Jenna-I honestly don’t care. Never did, never will. It’s the same cliché that’s been done millions of times. Of course she starts obsessing about the baby and worrying she won’t be a good mother. I’ve NEVER seen that storyline before.
KICK-Don’t give a damn about him either. I thought he was an idiot when she broke up with Clare, an ass for leaving Jenna when he knocked her up and predictable when he wants to get all the fun time in before the baby comes. So yeah, I don’t care for K.C (that was unintentional…funny but unintentional)
Drew-I hate how the writers just decided to make him play the drums like that. Were we supposed to believe that, since Drew has talked about being a total 0 times? I also hate how they made him get with Bianca. I actually like Bianca, but the only interaction they’ve had were hooking up, or talking about how they hooked up, and how them hooking up ruined Drew’s life. Now all of a sudden they’re perfect for each other.
Fitz-He is either totally Bsing, or totally serious. Him getting forgiveness from Eli will take a true act of God…or act of Clare.
