Every weekend for the first six weeks of 2011 TeenNick will host a Degrassi Marathon, which ultimately leads up to the February premiere. Thanks to Kyle over at CableTVTalk, here are the marathon details:
EVERY DEGRASSI EVER
This New Year’s Day we’re letting our audience know that 2011 is getting off to a get start with a DEGRASSI EVERY EPISODE EVER MARATHON. Every weekend in January veteran viewers can get re-immersed in Degrassi-ness in preparation for the series premiere in February.
Week 1: Saturday, 1/1 and Sunday, 1/2
Noon – 11pm et
See Degrassi from the very beginning with Seasons 1 & 2.
Week 2: Saturday, 1/8 and Sunday, 1/9
Noon – 11pm et
Watch Degrassi “Go There” in Seasons 3 & 4.

I love degrassi and all but the other season were better, everything now is just for shock value and i dont like that. I feel like no characters are getting developed at all. Seasons 1-7 are my favs with 3&4 tie at first.

thanks matt, and Disastuh is right, clare revolves around Eli, just like she did when she was with KC. The only plot that she had to herself really was standing up to the shep and the vampire episode. i like clare but they just need to do something with her.
then, the characters who they did develope they back track. Like alli, season 8 was about her wanting to become “popular” season 9 she wasnt so much into it but back again in season 10 she wants to be popular again.

With Good Development, Yes. Her development isn’t some average teenage development. She dealing with a ton of Bull Crap, such as Her Parents Divorce, Eli’s OCD, Fitz and Eli Rivalry, Still trying to find herself… Trust me, Clare is a Lost Soul! She is seeking something in Life… Eli is helping her open the door she’s searching for.
I do apologize Kary for writing to much… When I talk about Degrassi I get deeply and Sincerely into it!

i disagree clare doesnt revolve around Eli. She has had her own issues with home life. She changed her look, her attitude, her snooty,remarks, her glasses…she has even stopped relying on friendahip club and God as much. She has lost her sister aaaand her friend. She watched her friend steal her bf and she learned alot from that she also became a little less vulnerable and really put Jenna in her place, something she never would,have done before. Clare has changed more than anyone she almost up there with Emma and all them.

That’s cool Matt. I personally believe that, script-wise, Season 10 is the best, and Season 9 was a step-up from Season 8, which sucked. But yes, in terms of shock value, Seasons 1-7+10 are the best. :)

My favorite seasons are 2,3, and 6. 8 and nine I watched but didn’t like. I love season ten but for different reasons. My favorite characters from earlier seasons were spinner Darcy Emma Jt Craig and jay but my new favorites are Clare drew Riley and Eli I think they have good storylines and bring back som old drama we have been lacking for some time now.

my fav. seasons? i havent seen all of them, so im gonna try 2 catch up! :) but i think Eli/Clare/Fitz plots are going to be my favorites. but im really sick of those stupid rumors that ‘oh, this Sadie girl’s gonna steal Eli!’. but anyway, i can’t wait 4 the second half of season 10! and i missed the entire boiling point over the summer since i wasnt into degrassi at the time. but im caught up on wat happened. i’ve seen a little bit of season 9. here’s my grades:

Another things, whats going on with anya’s character? I havent been keeping up with spoilers and such but is she getting a plot? She was such a big character season 7-9 and i feel like she hasn’t really been getting any good screen time.

@Musicrox526 Believe me, after watching ALL 220 episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation, there’s a very small chance that the Eclitz arc will still be the same. BTW The Boiling Point and Season 10 are the same thing. Which reminds me… Can someone PLEASE edit the Degrassi Wikipedia page? It seems quite ironic that they have Stephen Stohn’s KSITE TV interview listed in the ‘external links’ section, and yet it still says that there are 48 episodes in Season 10.

@Thing 3, Well About Anya MacPherson.
At first- I thought they were cutting her off major plots because she’s not ready considering she been revolving around Sav and Larping! It was an Okay Plot. But I also thought of this so that the younger cast can make an effort of getting more storylines.
Yes- Yes, it seems Anya is getting a Great storyline. In the promo, you see Anya Kissing some one; I assume it’s her mother’s doctor. So the whole mother-getting-cancer plot was just a setup for Anya to start something I’ve been missing. We all seen it once with Paige… And it didn’t go so well. Paige and Mr. Oleander? However you spell his name. But this is a Plot when a younger student hooks up with an older man!
I also it would nice to see Anya is the spin-off show of Degrassi. That they said will be coming soon!

I see where your coming from but even the people anya’s age are getting more plots. Fiona, Holly, Declan, and Riley have had alot of plots this season and alot of airtime. I’ve just grown to like anya and miss seeing her and i am excited for her plot with the doctor, that should be interesting.
Well the thing with paige was that Matt was a student teacher and thats prohibited because teachers and students shouldnt date. but this guys is a doctor, so idk who that would play out.

I believe Anya had enough plots this season.
One- Pretending Pregnant, and Being ‘Two faced’ to Holly J.
Two- Mother with Cancer.
Three- Riley VS Anya to find out if her mother’s Doctor Straight or Gay.
Fourth- Date with Wesley. (It’s not technically her plot, but she play a big part)
And the Fifth one will come soon!
I’m don’t know if I’m leaving any more out, but She also had a lot of Screen time.
One- Jenna and her Diet Pills. (Jenna Told her about it. “Side effects.”)
Two- Wesley at the Auction! (She bid two dollars on him!)
Three- When Sav and Holly J. still tried to hide that they’re dating. (She walked in on them with Fiona. But they wasn’t doing nothing… AND Sav and Holly J. was acting strange. They asked Fiona and Anya if they wanted to help count the money. They Denied it. And Much more Screen time in that Episode!)
Fourth- Making a suggestion to help Chantay bring Clubs back!(They were at the Dot. And Also she was there before she made the suggestion. She was who Chantay was talking to in the media Class, when Ms. Oh explained that “Keeping the kids in the dark is keeping them safe.”)
I just put out almost all the screen time that I could remember Anya Had. If you think about it, she’s really been there; it’s just she didn’t have much of a Storyline. I have another conclusion why they’re not her as much as Holly J. and Declan, because Declan, the actor is leaving the show, They had to make something for Declan to run-off smoothly. It would be terrible if he would just vanish like Derek and Leia did. So, the writers are trying to do things realistic! From my point of view, Anya had just enough plots. And if you put her against Bianca, One of my newest favorite characters along with Alli and Clare, Anya had a lot of Plots.

I think they just are focusing the main plots on popular or newer characters. Anya has always been good at supporting role like Holly J’s robot and Savs girlfriend and such. Just a suggestion though

Clare’s Character Development: I believe that Clare is Developing. She has been through a lot that even the older cast can’t even touch, besides Emma, Paige, and Darcy. Because when a girl is raped, it really tough to handle and that is such a strong plot. Emma because she had and STD and she was Anorexic… For Clare to even go through more than the rest is because, you may not it this, but as a Christian girl still with her virginity. She has faced tough situations, starting with not knowing what a Dildo is and Embarrassment, trying to find herself, making herself look as if she don’t care what anyone think!… (Like the time she sang in front of the whole school and got BOO-ed off the stage.) Clare’s character is basically the type of character that is lost! And being lost is really tough. Clare has Developed alot from that. She now cut her hair off. And I think that is to be free from all her worries. Such as one Jenna and K.C… Yes We know! She got laser eye surgery, “To help with her confidence.” I believe Clare is going to get better.
Now Clare Revolving around Elijah Goldworthy: That is true, she have been doing every storyline with him. The reason for that to show a real relationship grow! Yes… It’s been a long time since we had a real relationship grow… Palex, was the only one. The rest was. “OH MY GOD! He’s/She’s Hot, we should so date!” EClare is much more than that. I was watching the Boiling Point with my sis. And I was just Awwww-ing through out everything Eli and Clare did because you can see the chemistry between them. Clare is around Eli to help her character Develop more. He is helping her see things differently, helping her open it. And showing her that it’s normal to be yourself. As Clare is helping Eli’s Character Grow. With him being new and All, we don’t know much about him. Other than he has OCD, and His Ex-Girlfriend has Died. He might have issue with bullies in the past considering he wouldn’t let Fitz go and he only made the situation worse. But Clare is helping his Eli over-come some of the challenges.
One Note! Clare is most definitely Developing as well as all the others!

I completely agree. Clare has been through so much change without even having a situation like rape or STD or all that. Also her and Eli are genuin. They aren’t dating to be popular or to make themselves feel good or to get attention…they really like each other. I lve that the relationship is growing and it’s not to rushed.

I don’t think I like the older ones anymore, and one reason for that is because times are changing. Don’t get me wrong… I do like the episodes and all… Because the Actors and Actress can really handle a great storyline. Such as Aubrey Graham. He didn’t have much since he got on a wheelchair, but his acting was great! There are more character like him. Such as Alex, after her and Paige broke up, there wasn’t much to do with her. Same with Emma, Manny, Liberty, Peter, Paige, Marco, Spinner, and Ellie, Etc… Since they Graduated there wasn’t much they can do with them! It looks as if they, the writers, has stepped up their game… They are making storylines and making it where they can still use those characters even when one’s storyline is over. Such as Alliah Bhandari. She has been caught with what she has done in the past; it now looks like in the promo they are making her run-away. But before that she had a BAD-ROMANCE with Drew, and Also she have a Rivalry with Bianca DeSousa. And another thing. In the Promo you see Drew and a Girl Dancing… That must be Bianca. I believe that tension is going to rise between them if Drew and Bianca hook-up!

Here are my predictions for season 10 2011:
Alli hates her new school and tries to talk her parents into letting her go back to degrassi but they refuse. She causes drama in her household,causing Sav to blow up on her. Having had enough of her family drama she runs away.
Clare is home alone talking to Eli when Fitz shows up on her doorstep. Clare is scared at first but is surprised when Fitz is only seeking comfort. He confesses about being abused by his parents,And his Dad gave him a black eye for his sick prank on Eli. Clare and Fitz become friends but Eli still doesnt trust him.
Riley and Zane are studying at Riley’s house and start flirting with each other. This leads to them kissing and Riley’s mom walks in and is shocked at what she has seen. She pretends it didnt happen and Riley doesnt help the matter by not finally coming out to her. Riley finally decides to come out later but his Mom,Like Marcos Dad still loves her son but hates the fact that he is gay.
Jenna and KC are back and things have never been better. But when Jenna goes into labor KC,scared,Bails on her at the hospital and does not see the birth of his baby,causing the two to break up again. Jenna wants to keep the baby,not give it up for adoption and has support and help from her brother and KC’s mom,Though KC once again decides he doesnt want anything to do with it.
Fiona apologizes to Adam for not showing up at his party,As she was working on legal stuff involving Bobby. The two hit it off again and eventually start dating,but Bianca sees the two kissing at the mall and tells Fiona about him really being a girl. Fiona is shocked and leaves,But realises she really likes Adam and doesnt care that he is really female and starts dating him again.
Drew is pressured to win the big basketball game and compete in a battle of the bands with his new band. Under stress,he takes drugs to calm himself down but ends up in huge trouble with him parents,kicked off the team and his band.

They showed a new promo,it was really quick though. A commercial for the marathon,then the new promo. It was one of those quick ass promos,the only thing they actual showed for more than 1 second was Bianca and Drew talking and Bianca says “we had alot of fun together,we can have alot more.” and she closes the curtains,and I THINK,I REPEAT,I THINK i saw Clare and Fitz kissing
