From the Season 10 brainstorming session...remember we all spent forever speculating what the lineup on the back wall meant?
The Exec Stephen Stohn tweeted that starting Tuesday, November 30th the writers will get together for a brainstorming session for Season 11 storylines:
Personally there’s several storylines I’d like to see:
1) I’d like to see another bullying storyline. It doesn’t necessarily need to go to the extreme like “Time Stands Still,” or result in a character committing suicide, but I’d definitely like to see an drawn out plot where the bullied suffers emotionally because of it.
2) Another plot I’d like to see is a character dealing with death. My ideal storyline would be one of the main show characters getting their license, then get involved in a car accident where another main character dies. Then we watch as they suffer through extreme guilt of a situation that was out of their control.
3) A complete and total breakdown of a friendship. Many of the characters argue, then kiss and make up eventually. But a broken friendship beyond repair involving two best friends would be great to watch.

I agree! I hope degrassi steps it up a little. I sometimes feel like G rated movies or more risqué and dramatic then degrassi has gotten. I’m a little disspointes but will always watch the show, I just hope they step it up:)

I would like to see a character go through a full pregnancy, not stopping at the birth of a child like with liberty, or with Mia and meeting Izzy after she was born, or an abortion, but a character that goes through everything including raising the child.

I hope this is what happens with Jenna. We’ve seen it all from the beginning. It would be very interesting to watch her raise the child, especially since she’s still a sophomore, so the child could grow up and we’d still be watching. And since she and Casey are back together, it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I like the complete break down of a friendship because that generally happens in real life. People grow up and grow apart. you know… like a HUGE fight that breaks uo thier friendship and eventually they have a “lets be civil” pack but they arent friends again you know?

A diabetic student would be interesting I think. A story arc with the recently married Spinner and Emma with Emma pregnant with the first Spemma baby! :D lol And for Defrassi Mini ideas: What if Drew were Eli and Eli were Drew? And if it were possible, another Degrassi mini that would redo the “Shark in the Water” music video but use the cast from seasons 1-6! I’d love to see that!

I really want to see something MAJOR happen. Something really altering. I mean I know that there was the Boiling point in season 10. But if you ask me it was as drastic as it seemed.
So I’d like to see something that is really like “HOLY CRAP!”
With next year only having The Juniors and Seniors I hope that the cast is a bit smaller so there is more room to build on character backround

I would really enjoy a divorce! Emma and Spinner, I know it’s a little outdated but maybe a few episodes where the old cast comes back, a reunion type thing maybe. I think it should result in a fight and eventual divorce. (Maybe during the reunion Jane and Spinner reunite and he has second thoughts???)

1. I think that might be hard to do tastefully without the character coming off as a walking PSA about people with disabilities.
2. I think this one is a good idea, but Alli’s plot kind of already touches on some of the issues of cultural difference. There are other issues for recent immigrants that can be covered though.

I disagree about the blind or deaf student being a PSA. It’s definitely possible to be done correctly. I mean, look at Adam. I know I wasn’t the only one hoping that his storyline wouldn’t come off as a PSA. But they wrote him in the right way so he’s more than just a trandgender person — he’s a human with a problem that most humans don’t face.

i know this suggestion is kind of dark. But i would like to see an episode or plot line where a character in the LGBT community comes out to their family and are completely rejected. i love Degrassi, but it just seems like they don’t acknowledge the downsides of coming out to family. With Marco they had people bully him (Alex) or ostacize him (Spinner), but they eventually came around (Alex turned out to be bi for god’s sake).
not all LGBT people are accepted by their families (sad but true). it would be really nice if Degrassi was a bit more realistic and did something along those lines.

That needs to be done, I agree. Especially in light of what’s been happening to LGBT youth. Those who are having a hard time are struggling to identify with someone who’s got a support system of some sort, like Marco, Zane, Riley, etc. What are those who feel TOTALLY lost supposed to do? They need to know that not everyone has a sunshine and rainbows life, but that doesn’t mean that they need to give up on themselves.

I’m not sure that’s such a great idea though. We have to consider what it means to perpetuate the image that gay people suffer for being gay, and it might make it more difficult for some people to come out because they’ll fear being rejected more. While it’s true that not everyone is going to have happy experiences coming out, I’m not sure it’s not better to keep to positive story lines.
It can be done though, but I’d just worry about it being done with tack. Most parents tend to react somewhere between the extremes, they’re neither totally accepting or total monsters.

I’m gay, and I know people who have come out and have been kicked out of their homes for being gay. They had friends who the ended up living with and most if not all are on a successful track.
Beleive me before I made my post I thought about kids being afraid to come out because of it. I just think it’s an interesting storyline.

Just found this blog Googling in dismay over the prospect of an 11th Degrassi season. Yes, I’m disappointed that the 10th season is not the last— it’s been a great show, but how many times can the same storylines be done before they get repetitive? They should end while they’re on top. But, *sigh*, if there is going to be another season, it had Better be Spectacular!
My picks would be:
1) death/ suicide. Never seen a suicide on the show. Maybe an LGBT student, as the show hasn’t addressed a negative coming-out yet. Another lesbian storyline would be great too— I’m tired of the homosexual men; the Paige-Alex storyline was wonderful! I was disappointed that Adam was FTM and not MTF.
2) previous cast reunion, or a peek into Spinner & Emma’s life together. A cast reunion could be precipitated by some kind of catastrophe (the school burns down; a terrorist attack, etc) that draws them back to their hometown?
3) Something really dark and taboo or bizarre, like incest, female-on-male partner abuse/ rape, a secret May-December relationship with one of the girls getting involved with and taken advantage of by a Much older man(I’m surprised the Alli character didn’t take this route at some point). Not the retarded Connor RPG disappointment. Could eventually lead into a prostitution storyline mid-season.
4) NO MORE PREGNANCIES!!! This is the most cliche storyline of all. And Please, for the love of god, why can’t we have ONE nice normal “pure” character (like Claire, for the most part), that Doesn’t freak out and turn goth/ lose virginity/ start drinking, drugs, etc? The hypocritical Christians in the earlier seasons were great, Darcy was amazing as the good girl gone bad after her trauma, but it seems like every character in the series that’s ever started out good sooner or later goes worse than anybody. How about a little balance?

I think Joey and Angela should come back. Angela is should be around 15 and in grade nine now. Mr. Simpson needs a friend too. I also think that Angela should be a female version of Joey when he was her age, because if you watch the original series you can see how he was such a CHARACTER. I think that would be an interesting story line. He would have to figure out how to raise a teenager by himself.

I agree about the bullying thing. Especially with everything going on now. It would make sense to tell that story.
I’ve also thought of other issue they haven’t really covered.
One would be claustrophobia, I think that would be really interesting to explore.
Another good one would be OCD.
I also think we need a good love triangle. So much potential with Eli/Clare/Fitz.
I’m guessing the summer episodes would be the end of senior year for the current seniors. I’m hoping they get good wrap up stories.

There are three major storylines that they really need to do:
1. Drunk driving. I can’t believe that they didn’t do this yet (Paige crashing into Dean’s car doesn’t count).
2. A character who is adopted and actively seeks out his or her birth parents. The writers missed out on a great storyline for Derek.
3. Homelessness. Not a runaway situation, but one in which the character has no choice. Like, maybe they live in a shelter and try to kep it a secret.
I would LOVE a Spemma divorce, but knowing the writers, they would make it all Spinner’s fault since their precious Emma can do no wrong. And NO MORE PREGNANCIES (Especially not Emma, if she comes back). Rape is now being overused too (unless it’s male rape).

a house party. Just throw one, where kids drink, like they do in high school. Not nessesarily a big storyline but just throw in a party.

Okay, well, first of all, CHANGE the goddamn RATING. Degrassi could do so much more if it were rated TV-14. I’d like to see someone with a pornography addiction. I’d like to see a sex tape gone viral. I’d like to see a male who is purely sexual, with absolutely no labels attached. I’d like to see them redo the classic Joey moment in Bad Blood Part 2. I’d like to see a heroin storyline. I’d like to see Adam’s therapy sessions. Research shows that in order to get the surgery, you have to attend therapy for a year. I’d like to see Angela come to Degrassi, and live in Snake’s house while dating Connor. I’d like to see Eli develop necrophilic fantasies of Julia. I’d like to see them reveal that Owen is homophobic because he was sexually abused as a child. I’d like to see a go-go dancing storyline. Joey’s wife died from a car accident, I’m pretty sure the driver was drunk. Craig’s father abused him and then he died. Clare’s parents are already getting divorced. I want Spemma divorced, but not as a storyline.

I’d like to see a storyline involving friendship as well, one where they don’t make up and they don’t end in one episode. I’d like it to be slow, with the them getting further and further away from each other, and they wondering what happened.
Also, was there any mention whether they would start showing some of the kids in college again I know season 11 wouldn’t have anyone in college, since its the same school year as season 10, but I wanted to know if they ever mentioned if they were done with that.

I think they should do a story about a guy, Dave seems like a good candidate, who believes he is pubicly underdeveloped. And his penis is exposed by his towel slipping off in the locker room or something. Some guys see it and start teasing him. And this teasing escalates to maybe a lawsuit or something. I think that would be intresting. And the previous comment about a deaf/blind kid is an excellent plot imo.

I think that a storyline that involves sports would be good. What about something about injuries. Say somebody gets an injury doing sports, but ignores it because they’re afraid their parents will make them stop. I’ve seen so many people dealing with this problem and I think it would raise awareness to show it on a show with such a big reputation.

So, here’s a random idea: how would you guys feel if they did another version of the theme song after the current seniors graduate (which, if I recall correctly, should be at the end of the first half of season 11, when they finish up the Boiling Point-esque part of the season?
Also, I love the idea of seeing Adam in therapy sessions, where he can talk openly about his feelings. And it would be nice to see why Owen is a bully, but not if it’s going to become a cliche. And while this has been brought up before, I would love to see Angela brought back, to make everything connect back to the original, but only if Pat Mastroianni agrees to come back at least as recurring. It would be so wrong to see Angela at Degrassi, but then to never see Joey at all. And while I haven’t done the math, somebody a while ago came up with that Angela would be 14 and starting grade 9 starting with the next school year (or maybe the one after that.)

While there are a lot of really good ideas out there, I think I’m going to wait and see what happens in the rest of season 10. Because unlike the crew of Degrassi, we don’t know anything. For example, who might end up with who and who might know what about another and what might happen to different characters. Honestly, some things that we might want to see might come up in the end of season 10. We won’t know until it airs.

I’d like to see…
1) Someone with an obvious physical deformity they’ve had since birth.
2) Someone with severe social anxiety disorder.
3) Involuntary manslaughter/negligent homicide… like maybe Riley loses control of his intense rage again, hits someone the wrong way, the someone dies, riley freaks out and tries to cover it up
4) Dealing with the loss of a sibling or best friend and the guilt that goes along with it
I would like to see someone who has a very promising future make one really bad mistake that ruins it all. Someone like Holly J maybe, who’s spent a long time working to get this far- Sav gets some shrooms or ecstasy or something, maybe from Peter, and convinces Holly J to take them with him, saying it will make them feel really sensual. she does, but totally freaks, has to go to the hospital, and gets charged with drug possession, causing her to lose her scholarships and her job. her parents kick her out. sav breaks up with her because he can’t handle conflict and he doesn’t want his parents to find out. her parents disown her. can she turn to declan for help? who knows

This may be too similar to recent plots, but how about developing a storyline in which Adam starts taking too much testosterone, and as a result becomes overly aggressive? Not necessarily abusive, but confrontational, hot-tempered, and dangerous? Are FTM teens allowed to take testosterone, as their bodies are still maturing?

A good storyline would just be Adam contemplating beginning testosterone. He could take it if he got parental consent and a prescription. I think some doctors are willing to work with transitioning teens under 18.

1- PROSTITUTION, a character that doesn’t start out thinking this is what he/she is doing until it gets pretty bad. Perhaps to support his/her self [would do greatly with the homeless story line] or to support a habit [would go greatly with a heroin addiction story line].
2- DYSTHYMIA, as our seniors aren’t graduating until next season, it’d be interesting to see one of them suffer with a lack of acceptance and eventually fall to dysthymia.
3- MENTAL RETARDATION, a character who suffers of mental retardation. Not a character that is close to someone who suffers of mental retardation.

I think that Degrassi needs to take it back to the way it used to be while moving forward with where we are currently at. It is great that this show is trying to stay committed to current teenage times but it seemed like Degrassi made more of an impact during its earlier years.
We as the audience need Degrassi to give us storylines that stick and not just these everyday random hookups that they are doing. I am actually happy with characters like Anya and Riley who have actually transformed over the years. The writers have spent their time on these two characters. Anya moving on from Sav not so much a great thing because it happened to fast for me.
Work on the characters development and try to put these characters together a little more. Back in the day we had a lot of the characters go to parties together or babysit and have real issues. The whole boyfriend/girlfriend issue is really played out and like everyone on this blog would probably like to see a more intense Degrassi again. Not so rushed though.
Do you know why Time stand still worked and made sense because it took time to get there and the healing process too time as well. We met rick in season three and they set it up well over time. You guys have alot more episodes to work with and characters so why not utilize that.
Potential subjects
* A serious event changing Degrassi would be great. Not just a lockdown that was tooo simple. Also not that traumatic.
*Stop with the hookups and focus more on the individuals themselves. They are people aside from their relationships.
* Jenna and Kc should focus on being parents while still trying to be young. Challenging and creates obstacles.
*Adam should explore the transgendered world more and cope with being a boy trapped in a girls body. Challenges in the real world.
* Drew should probably get an STD and learn the ramifications of sexual decisions.
*Riley and zane are better now but still need to overcome the challenge of being together in the real world. They have overcome their relationship through closed doors and now experience the challenge of a gay and straight world, together and individually. That is open to so many storylines.
*Holly J has always been the perfect person and has always known where she is headed. Maybe is time to see Holly J not have a perfect path and kind of see her struggle with that now that she has left Degrassi.
*Sav Should really get a heavy storyline. We have focused on his religion now we should see how he deals with being in a world away from Degrassi and his family values. When kids are in college they go through a learning process and join every club and change their outlook on life. This is the best point for sav to be a different person.
*Anya needs a better storyline. She is a wasted Character who has potential for me. She is sweet and too nice but we need to see her act out a little and do something rebelious or have something happen to her that changes her forever and maybe close up until one of the characters save her. The writers probably can tie in a storyline to hers to make that connection.
*Alli has been crazy since we met her and she is like our manny santos. Even manny slowed down after awhile. We need Alli to calm it down for a season and really give us the best she has got. Even I got it together by Junior year. I would like to see her as independent but seeing her with a great guy would make me very happy.
*seeing Wesley get bullied or have a hidden secret that makes him awkward would be a great storyline to play with. He has huge potential to grow as a character.
wasted characters are Declan,Chantey, and Connnor.
I like all three but they are not giving these characters enough to shine. They are like anya just there as a supporting cast and nothing more.
* So much room for claire and eli to grow. Claire has become such a great character and maybe its time for her to loose it a little and not in a good way. A way that will make everyone look at her in the worst way possible including eli and alli. Bringing her to another click in the school. Make it gradual please.
We need to learn Elis past and resurface something that changes his current life at degrassi and with claire.
Okay I wrote a lot and love this show. I see alot of potential but also have noticed a lot of rushed story lines that make me want to call the producer of the show and maybe join in.
WRITERS IMPORTANT
if you rush the storyline then people will not connect to it. Development is key to making your characters lovable and also making viewers tune in to want more.
Stop with the stunts and over dramatics and lets get realistic.
Remember Degrassi it goes there….
so season 11 lets go there.

I want to see a storyline that two people are fighting and one person brings hardware acid and throws it on another person. Lately I been hearing this happening all over the world to people.

I would like to see another lesbian couple on the show and I wouls like to see siblings who hate each other. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sibling relationships on the show, especially Adam’s and Drew’s. But they’re are families out there who can’t stand to be in a room with one another. Jane and her brother didn;t even come close.

The onyl good rape storyline they ever had was Paige’s. Darcy’s seemed to forced to me. I would LOVE to see a suicide. And I know that the series focuses on all the students at the school, but unless they make it a real soap opera, not just a half-season soap, 31 series regulars is a little ridiculous. It seems like every time a character shows up they get in the main credits by the next season. Do you remember Bruce the Moose? Never once had a major storyline but was in the main credits for three years. But, back to plots, I would also love to see a real eating disorder storyline, and another relationship abuse. A drug addict could be fun. But there are so many potential scenarios all of us combined couldn’t describe them. In an interview Kary posted a few months ago it Stephen Stohn said they used a much lower budget and got much high ratings. If that trend continues we could see Degrassi Season 23. Which makes me happy. I think all children over 14 should watch this show.

id like to see a good love triangle with 2 guys fighting over 1 girl, we havent really seen a good love triange yet, i guess u could kinda count the jenna sav and holly j thing a love triangle but im talking full on battle between the guys lol and make it last for a couple episodes plz thanks :)

There are a couple of plot lines that I would really like to see.
Someone said the rape story line was overused but I don’t think so, I’d really like to see a stranger rape, where after the girl goes to the police, gets an exam and we see how she deals with the assault, its difficult and while Darcy got some parts really well I think there were things missing. In both Paige and Darcy they didn’t report right away and if I remember correctly Darcy didn’t report at all.
Finally I’d like to see a student who has the HIV virus and the student population finds out and freaks out, I think that would be intersting.
I realize these are all depressing storylines but I think there things that acually happen and it would be good to see it portrayed on telivsion.
I’d also like to see a girl/guy domistic abuse storyline, drawnout and not, over real quick like Terri’s It would be intersting to see a confidant charcter change because of a boyfriend. For example if Anya got a boyfriend who critized her clothing saying it was slutty and she dress more conservite and so forth. It would be intersting to watch a charcter change and then when the loser is evenually revealed for what he is, the charater has to rebuild themselves and they have low self esteem and so forth.

(not sure) clare was saying how KC blames everyone but himself (which i agree, he is one of the biggest assholes to walk the planet in degrassiville) and that she’d see him in september?? they kinda just left us hanging there. so yea if someone wud be so kind to tweet that to stephan that wud be great :) thank you

Although I love Degrassi, this season feels like any other teen show: all about relationships. What really sparked me on to Degrassi was the drawn out relationships in the earlier seasons. My favorite scenario is the Spinner/Marco story. They’ve been friends, stopped being friends, and became friends again. What the difference between that and season 10? Marco and Spinner went through a alot of stuff during their friendship statuses. I love watching the earlier seasons, and personally I’d prefer those over this season. I love the Adam storylines, but I feel that there’s so much potential that the writers haven’t tapped in to. So here are my favorite subjects that I want to see.
1. A male character who is a niner, who also has a crush on this junior, but keeps a secret that he has borderline personality disorder. He also gets bullied, and it gradually builds up to a showdown between the bully and the victim, but this time, the victims kills the bully on accident and then goes through the rest of the year regretting what he did. He also gets in a relationship with the girl, but it soon turns into an abusive relationship.
2. I want to see a character, male or female, whose parents are very religious (not like Clare’s parents or Sav’s parents) but are actually ministers/preachers/etc. I want the writers to chronicle that person’s life of being the son/daughter of very religious people. I want them to involve secrecy (like keeping a secret at school about the religion) and get confused about what they want to do with their life revolving around religion.

i’d like to see another self injury storyline. i know we kind of had one with adam but that lasted about five minutes and i would like to see one where someone self injures for a longer period of time (kind of like ellie in season 3) maybe like a few episodes, and you get to see other characters find out about it and try to help the self injurer out

as someone said above, i’d also like to see another lesbian couple. not like two totally knew characters though. two characters that are already at degrassi. or maybe one new character and the other who is already on the show. i think fiona would be a good candidate for this storyline cause she has such bad luck with guys. and it looks like she’s already getting with adam in the newer episodes coming in 2011, but i don’t really count them as a lesbian couple cause adam wants to be a guy.

I’d like to see :
1. Love Triangle or Secret : Fitz, Eli, and Clare , maybe BIG PROBLEM because i knew Fitz back, however if he crush on Clare then maybe Clare will focus take care between Fitz and Eli , what if Clare feel secret with Fitz. Clare won’t admit Eli that Clare feel Fitz, i assume probably. Also Adam and Fiona will love interest but what if Fiona does know boy or girl..well i will see if happen.
2. HOOK UP date or Rape: i think Anya, because she like to date older man than young..i knew Anya is broke virgin then she will more interest sexually with older man..probably or Anya will rape by older man..i don’t know if happen.
3. Jealously/Romance – of course Alli and Bianca but what if Bianca and Drew will grow fell in love than friend with benefit..probably cause i knew Bianca back in Degrassi, she still feeling to Drew, Also Alli leave from Degrassi. Also what if Wesley find out Anya was raped then maybe Wesley will rage or fight with Anya’s date older man, probably Anya should date with Wesley before she was raped..i don’t know if happen.
4. BULLY FEMALE – i need to know about bully girl in Degrassi than same male but why not Bully Female. also what if female bully will fight with Clare or nerd Connor , others or probably bully female should pretty than ugly but like bullying.

Another idea: KC comes around and decides that he wants to be there for Jenna and the baby because he doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes his own parents made in his life. They decide to raise the baby together and Jenna moves into the apartment with KC and his mom. Eventually they both realize they’ve bonded by going through the various challenges of raising a child while going to school, getting jobs to make ends meet etc etc etc together, and get a city hall marriage (no fancy dress or fanfare with their limited means) becoming sort of “happy by accident” young couple trying to make the best of a rough situation. This could easily make up an entire season-long story arc.

i kinda disagree with that idea cuz i dont think kc deserves a happy ending. i think something needs to bite him in the ass that really makes him feel horrible about what he did to clare (which he should becuz what he did was very low). i know clare has eli now but still i think kc should pay! that baby did nothing but bring him back together with jenna…. ughh that couple disgusts me how they can live with there selfs while one knows they’ve stolen someones first boyfriend and the other knows they’ve dumped someone for someone else. but other thaen that its a great idea for 2 other characters! lol

I think that there needs to be some normal things. like a character getting sick, they shouldn’t devote a part to it at all just mention it to show that these kids are not perfect, little things that make them more like hs students.

I think they should make jenna have a miscarriage.
I dont think degrassi has ever delt with miscarriages.
Also I would like to see a friendship officially end.
STOP WITH CHARACTERS HOOKING UP AND STUFF..
we want to see characters have personal problems and how they deal with them.
I think they should have an artistic character (art/theater/fashion) and focus on what that character must do to pursue that dream.

Here are some things I’d like to see.
A bad car crash. Where someone almost dies. Maybe drunk driving?
Marriage. Like maybe KC proposes to Jenna because she’s pregnant? Or just a couple thinks they’re so over the moon in love, and get married.
Sibling rivalry. Two siblings HATING eachother, not fighting for an episode about a girl (Drew and Adam).
An emancipation.
Someone finds out they have some kind of condition, like a heart condition or something.
Cocaine. And not an episode about it.
A house catches on fire, with someone trapped inside.
Student-teacher relationship. This time, maybe female teacher, male student?
Murder.
A stalker. Like a legit one. Not one from the Internet.
Someone finds out they’re adopted, and they search out to find their real parents.
Suicide.
A sex tape. Manny’s wasn’t a SEX tape.
A runaway, which leads to prostitution.

I think that holly j should get a phone call from decklan for him begging for her to take him back, but she turns him down for sav. but then sav tells her he wants to get back with anya. so when holly j goes to talk to decklan and calls him, he doesn’t answer. fiona won’t show up to school for a couple days, and hasn’t been answering her cell phone. so finally holly j will go to her appt and find out that decklan was killed in a car crash. i’m bad at this, but something like that would be nice. but really sad :(

that’d be an awesome storyline! except i think anya has pretty much moved on from sav, so maybe that part wouldn’t work.
maybe declan gets killed while driving back to toronto to get holly j back? or maybe She’s the one that takes off driving to find him (or sav— maybe they have a big fight or something) and dies . . . i don’t think a female character has ever died on the show, so that would be different at least lol.

I think they should leave Clare as she is, atleast don’t make her go all rebel or crazy. Her sister already did that, and Clare is one of the only characters that is pretty steady and normal (in my opinion…). Also I really like her and Eli together.
I think ideally KC and Clare wouldn’t have anything against each other anymore, but maybe Eli will find out what KC did to Clare, and do something bad? (but not too bad!) Also I think maybe KC or Jenna should show some jealousy over Clare and Eli’s relationship.
Anything bad you want can happen to Jenna, I really don’t care. She’s my least favorite character…..something should happen to her to make her grow up a little.
Another idea is that maybe they shold have a younger kid, like 12-13 yrs old, who’s extremely smart and is in 11th or 12th grade. All that they want is to fit in, but it would be hard.
And pleeaaassee, don’t bring back characters that are already in college/graduated! (emma, spinner, etc) You might love those characters and all, but their too old. period. The show is called Degrassi HIGH SCHOOL for a reason. The way they portray hs life is already kind of a stretch, but the way they portrayed college was ridiculas. I think it will also be weird when riley/zane/fiona/hollyj/sav/anya/etc go to university…but their story lines aren’t finished.

What if someones parents both died,or something and it showed the police coming in, and that character having a breakdown and then they degrassi students reactions.

What about a really young but super intelligent kid (one of those that skipped a grade or two and so is starting highschool at the age of 12 or something), and their struggles trying to fit in/ make friends/ generally navigate the highschool jungle with the challenges of being younger than everyone else? Could segway into a bullying storyline perhaps, or put a crazy twist on it and make Them a precocious partyer kid (but not enough to get into trouble academically)-
