Halloween means it’s time for another Halloween special from Degrassi….
This one is titled “Monster Moon.” The idea is that this mini is broken up into 4 parts, with a new part airing Monday through Thursday, 10/25 – 10/28. Each mini will be just a little over 30 seconds long, and I HATE THAT…but before I get into it, here’s the airing schedule and descriptions:

As the Monster Moon rises high above Degrassi’s Halloween dance, the students are in for some surprising twists and turns. Sav gets into a hairy situation, and poor Wesley can’t believe his eyes.
Tuesday, Oct. 26, 9:00 p.m. ET
“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 2
With the dance in full swing, Eli tries to get a little one-on-one time with girlfriend Clare in a deserted hallway. What he doesn’t know is that she has a self-indulgent plan of her own.

“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 3
When Zane sees that Riley has deviated from their matching costume plans, it’s time for a big conversation. Seriously- what’s Halloween without matching gladiator costumes?

Fiona may be beautiful, but she’s a terrible mime with a dark secret. Could it be that Drew’s extremely good looks on the night of the dance tempt her into revealing her true nature?

Ok, back to me being annoyed. The mini itself could be great or terrible, I’m not debating that at all. And my issue isn’t with the length of the mini as whole, or the networks setting appointment times for it. However, I despise the idea of them taking the mini (which itself is anywhere from 2 to no more than 4 minutes), and breaking it up into even smaller parts in order to air it across the span of almost an entire work week. If I happen to have the tv on TeenNick that’s cool, but as a viewer I’m probably not going to drop what I was doing just to watch something that’s barely longer than any given Degrassi promo. Hah, I’m just having terrible memories of that damn JT Holiday mini.

HAHA! There are many bad things I can say about this. In fact, the only good thing you can deduct is the plots with Clare/Eli, The Dradona Triangle, and either Ziley or Wesley/Anya being in Umbrella. But since we’re 3 episodes in and we barely know the episode descriptions for the next 15 after Umbrella, I’ve just about lost all hope that Degrassi spoilers will ever be the same. 2 minutes COULD work. They did it in a part of this week’s One Tree Hill and that was pretty good. But in 4 parts, it probably would have sucked. There are VERY clear points you could make in this situation: How are we gonna find out about the dance, Wesley’s mummification and Sav’s transformation in 30 seconds? The Eclare thing could work, but how do you bring a monstrous plan to fruition in 30 seconds? How do you talk a serial killer RILEY in 30 seconds? And don’t even get me started on Adrona. The main thing that ticks me off is that they could have replaced 44-48 with this… Whatevs.

This mini looks incredibly stupid. I think 30 seconds for each part is too long. I thought the other two Halloween minis were horrrible and this just looks 10x worse.
@Rockerboy the beginning of One Tree Hill in my opinion was stupid. Yes it was just a dream and it fit in the Halloween theme but it was incredibly corny. If they replaced the last four episodes with this crap I would not watch the show anymore. I thought the vampire episode last season was stupid enough.

Yes this is very dumb. And I just found out Teennick’s schedule for next Friday night. 9:00 PM: Degrassi-Umbrella Part One: Clare feels irrelevent as her family falls apart, but Eli’s family has an odd offer for her. 9:30 PM: Gigantic-An Awesome Night Of Awesomeness: Walt tries to arrange a performance at a small concert in the backyard, but Vanessa wants to turn it into an elaborate gig. Meanwhile, Anna and Joey go on their official first date. 10:00 PM: Gigantic-Perfect Complications: Anna confronts the Paparazzi for interesting gossip on Vanessa, while Freddy comes to Piper’s rescue when her boss puts her on a strict new diet… Those aren’t the exact words(due to the fact my TV Guide is currently acting dumb), but they’re legit. I admit though, I can’t remember the guys name. It’s the black guy who is a failed womanizer. Pretty sure his name is Freddy. And as Piper has said, his stepmom is a crazy neuronic bitch.

Matt, that’s YOUR opinion. Shut up about it, okay? Degrassi Of The Dead and Curse Of Degrassi were GREAT (but Curse used way too much strobe lighting), which is why these ones should be just as long. And the vampire episode was amazing. Yes it was cheesy but it was a good storyline that we can all relate to. Boy or Girl develops an obsessive crush over another boy or girl, and to hide that crush they begin to secretly ship themselves, be it online or in their dreams, hence the title, Innocent When You Dream. Best Freeze Frame as well. And I’m a horror maniac, but whether we like to admit it or not, deep down we all know there is not a single one that isn’t cheesy in it’s own way.

Yes that’s my opinion and I am aloud to have my opinion. That’s what this blog is for. I am a Degrassi fan, that is obviously why I am here but, I don’t like the Halloween minis or any Degrassi episode that makes the characters fantasize about being vampires. If your a fourteen your old boy who likes episodes about teenage girls who are obsessed with ‘Twilight’ and fantasize about guys then good for you. But do not disregard my opinion or tell me to shut up about it. I like Horror films and such too but personally I am not interested in watching teenage kids in a high school turn into vampires and zombies and go after each other. Having fun and making them minis? That’s fine, I may still not like them but making them episodes? .. no. That’s my opinion, don’t like it, then get over it.

Have any of you been to The Splash lately??? That girl, Kaylynn, is so obnoxious that, good or bad, she will not listen to anything that anyone has to say about her blog. How the hell do you expect to continue getting stats if you do that to people? Oh and she’s 16, but in all the comments she’s made on this site, she lied and said she was 12 in order to “fit in with the target age range.” WTF does that. I’m 14. I’ve been watching Degrassi since I was 7 years old, and I’m proud of it. At that ripe young age, I discovered Degrassi through my then-11yrold sister. The first episode I ever watched was Pride.

I’m old enough that when I have a crush I can make it a committed relationship or just let it be. As a seventeen your old male “crushes gone too far” that involves fantasies about Vampire just don’t interest me, alright? If you disagree you can disagree but don’t tell my opinion is wrong.
