well funny thing is, in the episode where peter goes to Declan and Fiona’s parent’s party and tries crank, that girl Victoria made a comment on how “close” they are and Fiona got defensive. I’m thinking that its only Fiona who has feelings like that (maybe not even incest but the need to be attached to him) while Declan doesn’t. thats just my guess since Declan has now been with two degrassi girls in his seasons while Fiona only showed slight interest in one guy who she figured out was gay.

Maybe Fiona just feels neglected lately because Declan spends a lot of time with Holly J now. Their cousin did say they were close after all. In the promo for Takes Manhattan, Holly J sounded like she was complaining about how “inappropriate” the twins relationship was. So Fiona (who sounded drunk to me by the way lol) showed her inappropriate. Anyway to make a long story short Fiona felt neglected by Declan since they’re so close, got drunk, and kissed Declan to prove how close they really are.

I believe some of you are jumping the gun. I don’t think there’s anything sexual between Declan and Fiona. You have to remember the both of them have been extremely close all their lives, their twins for God sakes! Not to mention all they do is move around so I’m sure it’s almost impossible for Fiona to make new friends or hang with other people other than Declan. She can count on him and trust him. He’s her rock. He IS her best and only friend.
Fiona sees Holly J as a threat because in her mind she thinks Holly J will take Declan-her brother and only friend- away from her. That’s why Fiona appears hateful toward her
As for the kiss, Fiona obviously did it to piss Holly J off(or freak her out) but I doubt she did it because she wants her brother in a sexual manner.

Omg yeah. Also I agree with degrassi drama, the Fiona kiss was probably to make holly j angry. Not to mention that Fiona was drunk when she did it cos in one promo it shows her drinking (I can tell it’s the same scene cos she has the same outfit) and after the kiss scene decline pushes her away and she passes out.
Fiona probably got mad at holly j, and did something stupid so holly j would get super mad.

Spinner and Emma would be made of fail. If you think Spinner was Paige’s lapdog, it will be 1000X worse with Emma. Emma is a huge control freak. She even dictates what her boyfriends EAT. Besides that, Emma isn’t exactly so upstanding herself. She cheated on Peter with Sean and cheated on Sean with Damian (yes, that one counts, Manny even called her out on it).

I am mostly excited for the break up of Spinner and Jane and the hooking up of Emma and Spinner. Since day one Emma has been my favorite character even through all the bad acting phases and Spin will forever remain number one for me. I Emma can relate more with Spinner now than she could have a few seasons ago. I think this couple has the potential to be great.

kissing siblings isnt weird. i dont, but my boyfriends family does. so no dissing DTNG. to me, it think incest starts as an attraction towards a family member which turns into a sexual relationship. whether the other person gives consent or not (so like janes dad was attracted to her and sexually abused her which is incest because it started off with attration). declan and fiona? fiona maybe (i think she just wants all of declans attention), declan nah. i commented above somewhere about my reasoning.

I don’t really like that everyone keeps saying that people are assuming too much about Declan and Fiona. I agree that it may be one-sided in that Fiona is more attached to Declan than he is to her. But why is it so improbable that she actually have incestuous feelings towards him? Have you not gotten that vibe since they were first introduced? It’s obviously more than just brotherly-sisterly love.
I’d like it if she did it more than just because she wanted to tick Holly J. off.
There are people who deal with this kind of thing in real life. It’s inappropriate, but it’s something some people have to face. I’ll be kind of peeved if Degrassi just passes it off as Fiona trying to piss off Holly J. I know I wouldn’t kiss any brother of mine like THAT in any situation.

I don’t know why everyone is getting flustered about the incestuous kiss. Afterall, this IS Degrassi. They DO go there. (JT’s death, Manny’s abortion, Emma’s anorexia, Jimmy’s shooting) If the fans payed close attention to Declan and Fiona’s characters, you should have realized they were setting this huge climax up from the very start! You should have realized they were a bit to close…even for twins. They gave you many hints. Such as Vicki’s comment (ie. Vicki: Declan and Fiona are very close, Fiona: Shutup!) or (Declan: It’s just that, when your not happy, I’m not happy) Also, do you remember the Degrassi promo for season 9? Declan was like, “I keep the flies off her,” and Fiona said, “And I’ll keep his dirty little secrets.” We never did figure out what they were hiding. You also never know, maybe when Fiona and Declan were younger that had a incestuous relationship. Maybe, they realized how wrong they were. And stopped. Afterall, they did travel around the world a lot. There parents seem to always be away with their jobs. That would explain why Fiona hates Holly J. She hates the idea of her brother being taken away. If you haven’t realized – Degrassi has been desperately trying to think up new exciting issues (We gotta agree that Season 8, Season 9 has had the stalest episodes.) Why would it be wrong that they covered consensual incest? Too real? Think again. Also, we aren’t fully informed about Fiona or Declan’s background. Maybe Degrassi will turn “soap opera-ish” and make someone adopted.
Also here is my second possibility:
Maybe Fiona was drunk at the party. If you check out the Canadian promo, he DOES push her away and wipe his lips. It shows clips up her drinking profoundly and her fainting into Declan’s arms. Also, maybe it’s not incest. Then again, it might be just possessiveness. Afterall, Fiona doesn’t seem to have any close friends – (According to the Heart like Mine pt.2 episode) other than her brother Declan. Maybe the reason why she hates Holly J. is because, she hates the idea of a girl taking away her best friend. And on impulse, jealousy, and in her drunken state, kissed Declan to get her mad and upset.
To be quite honest. I’m actuallly hoping that the incest line takes route. I want to see a new interesting story plot bloom. I want to see the consquences and angst that Degrassi has been lacking, ever since, they introduced new characters. Landon Liboiron and Annie Clark, seems to be very talented actors who, I believe, are the right people for the job. Great actos + Great (possible plot) = Alot of drama (Something Degrassi has been missing for awhile)

OMG!!!!!! I’m an soo excited for this new season which premieres on Monday (technically Tuesday, Degrassi Takes Manhattan: The Heat Is On is attatched to s9). But nonetheless, I’m am ecstatic! I just came from camp, and the first thing I did was go on Kary’s blog to catch up on all Degrassi news. I am, by far, impressed by the all the promos and clips of the movie. I really hope it’s as good as what is shown, especially the whole Holly J. vs Fiona thing. Wow. And I am so glad HJ is going back to her old queen-bee ways. LOVES IT!

But I must attest to what people are saying about Fiona, since the very start (season 9 promo) everyone got a vibe that was abit “off” about them, I have an older brother, and I would NEVER EVER get so jealous to the point where I would just kiss him like that, and if you notice in the “much music” promo, I caught that when Fiona faints, its not real at all because if u look closely Holly J had her hand up like “Here this dramatic bitch goes again with her antics”…so I think people are giving Fiona not enough credit, she’s very smart and devious in her own way, like in “keep on loving you” when she “pretended” she didn’t know that Declan never mentioned to Holly J they were moving, just a few mins ago he TOLD her he never said anything to Holly J out of fear.

Oh boy is Fiona starting some drama! I’m not going to get into he whole incest/not incest thing but what I DO wanna say is that I can’t in good conscience feel bad for Holly J (in relation to her treatment from Fiona) in any of these clips because, in reality, she was SOOOOO much worse back before she went all “good”. I think Fiona’s attitude will be good for her. But I’m glad they’ll be friends later on in the season :)
