No, “Breakaway” is from Ozzy Osbourne, and “99 Problems” is by Hall and Oates. Also, take note that “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself” is from KC and the Sunshine Band.

They are all song titles, if you look them up. Most are by rather well known artists. “My body is a cage” immediately stuck out to me because Arcade Fire is nothing like any of the other artists. But, none the less, that deserves to be the best episode because the song is just that good.

I believe the writers, have stated all the episodes Degrassi:TNG, are named after song titles from the 80s, since most of them were teenagers in the 80s.

I understand that the writers were responsible for writing two consecutive episodes…but why did they have to give them the same name? I feel like that’s bound to create needless confusion and annoyance for people. We won’t know which ones are actually two-parters, if any are, and discussing these episodes is gonna be difficult…”Oh, Breakaway was probably my favorite episode of the season, well, part two anyway, part one was pretty bad but not as bad as part two of Try Honesty or part one of Tears Dry on Their Own, although part two of Tears Dry on Their Own was great!”

The Exec said it was an internal thing. I do see how it’d make it easier for the writers seeing how they’re having to write a TON of episodes in a short amount of time. For instance, if a certain writer is responsible for 1003, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1021 and 1022, it’s much easier for them to remember 3 titles than 6. But yeah it’s definitely going to cause confusion among fans, since they’re essentially giving two 30-min eps the same name, The Exec isn’t saying which ones are two-parters, and he’s denying that they’re hour-long episodes.

Yeah, I do understand that it would be easier internally to only worry about three episode titles instead of six, but I’m afraid the opposite effect is going to occur for the viewers and fans, which you brought up. I wish instead of naming the episodes before writing them or whatever they did, they just named them last and writers would only have to refer to their episodes by the show numbers; that seems most logical to me.
Beyond the difficulty it’s going to cause discussing episodes after they’ve aired (heck, even deciding whether or not to watch it when they’re showing re-runs and you can’t remember which part you liked, hah), I’m worried if the episode titles will become absolutely random for a part. So far, the titles have always given a slight hint at what would be going on in an episode or what a character would go through, for example I’d assume that Purple Pills would be about drugs/prescription pills and My Body Is a Cage would be Adam’s transgender story. But if neither of those are two-parters, is the second part going to be a plot that has aboslutely nothing to do with the title? That seems so foolish to me, like unecessary complications.

That would be very random if he was named after Ellie especially if their characters have nothing to do with each other. That’s like me being named after someone a random college student i’ve never even met and my parents didn’t know lol .. idk if that make sense to anyone but it does to me, so give it a thumbs down if you have to :(

It will be confusing with the Part 1 and Part 2 stuff. Maybe TeenNick will give some of the episodes new names, like Love Games and Broken Promises. I think that either Better Off Alone or I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself is about Sav/Anya, My Body Is A Cage has to do with Adam, and All Falls Down is the lockdown episode. Also when people refer to “Purple Pills” don’t they usually mean Viagra? If so I wonder which character has problems “down there”, if you know what I mean???

Awesome! I can’t wait to see every single one. I love how the writers chose “Try Honesty” for a title, which is a rock song by Billy Talent (a Canadian band, GO CANADA!). I strongly believe that episode concerns Sav and Anya. I have a feeling that the “Two faced girl” may have some explaining to do. Seeing the much music trailer and Teen nick: The boiling point promo, I can tell this season may be intense. Also for some reason, I think the episode titled “Purple pills” has something to do with Drew. Don’t know why.

I’m excited for these titles, but i’m pissed about the part 1 and part 2. I liked how the titles have something to do with the storyline. But idk if they are now. I think it will be hard to find a song that is suppose to go with 4 story lines. (A plot, B plot and the next A plot or B plot. Also what about C plots?) Better Off Alone; By Alice Deejay – Someone who thinks doesn’t want to go back out with the other person, while the other person wants to go back out with them and talk to them. Example; Sav and Anya?

Well, considering they’re calling this half of episodes “The Boiling Point”, that leads me to believe that they’re all leading up to the half-way finale which is the final explosion point, or maybe the episode right before it.

Right! And in an interview with Charlotte Arnold, she said they were doing read-throughs for the “mid season finale” and it’s supposedly intense, so I think we can imply that that’s when the lockdown takes place.

i know this is O.T. , Argiris Karras has just tweeted me that he has a HUGE storyline this season, and is ALWAYS on set. He told me that no1 can evn guess what’s coming for riley. and Judy Jiao has just tweeted that Leah has a storyline, not big but Leah’s biggest so far, and she just left for harvord. so they must only be half done with the season.

They are not lazy! It’s just easier for them to know which writer is writing which episodes, which helps them stay organized. And if they weren’t organized then the episodes would turn into complete crap. Plus why does it matter what the names of the episodes are? Personally, I care 99% what happens in the episode and only 1% what the title is.

Okay. well. these titles sound amazing! This is what I think what might happen in some of the episodes.
“Breakaway” – I think someone will probably either break up. Or maybe with riley trying to be comfortable with everyone knowing that hes gay and hes not ashamed. But idk.
“I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself”- I think maybe this is the episode about Jenna. I think we find out her secret.
“My Body Is A Cage” – I think its maybe about Adam. About thinking about becomming a girl.
“All Falls Down” – Probably lockdown.

Stephen said that they aren’t two-parters, but I’m not sure he means that none of them are two-parters. I think he just said that to clear things up, so that people wouldn’t think EVERY episode runs like an hour-long episode. I do think that some episodes will be two-parters though. It wouldn’t feel the same, well not for me, at least. I still think the premiere is a two-parter, and I also have a hunch that “Better Off Alone” is a two-parter, as well. Episodes 7 and 8 of the season have been two-parters quite a few times (Shout, Time Stands Still, Turned Out, Beat It), and also because Stephen said it stood out, I feel it may be a big episode, so it probably would make sense for it to be a two-parter. Also, there is usually a two-parter somewhere around episodes 13-16 (every season excluding seasons 1 and 2), and because “My Body is a Cage” is “stunning”, I’d hope that it’s a two-parter. These episodes have also usually have some connection to sex or panic attacks …

If that kind of pattern remains consistent, then I’m not sure how it would have too much to do with Adam, as people seem to think. Unless it’s about him and his sex/gender. I don’t know.
Also, maybe they’ll give us another two-parter in episodes 11 and 12, which has been a two-parter in 4 seasons (Holiday, Voices Carry, Lexicon of Love, Heart Like Mine). Coincidentally, these episodes share similar plots, as they all have to do with hook-ups and/or breakups. Craig/Manny/Ashley (Holiday), Craig/Ashley & JT/Liberty (Voices Carry), Paige/Alex (Lexicon of Love), KC/Clare & KC/Jenna (Heart Like Mine). And since some people think “Try Honesty” might be about Sav/Anya, it would make sense.
Perhaps, I’m WAY overthinking it, but I just found it interesting. They probably don’t even recognize this pattern, and it’s all just coincidence, but ya never know! =D

Lets just wait and see, im sure once season ten premeires, we’ll understand the name thing, cause, after all, we dont know the plots at all. But im really hoping the first episode is 1 -hour

The first episode will probably be a 2-parter, but won’t premiere as an hour long. That would wreck the whole 6-week 24 episode plan.

Just by hearing the name Danger Zone there was no way you could have known that it was about Holly J and Spinner. So there is no way that you guys are going to be able to predict what’s going to happen just by the titles…. no offense lol. I mean im sure some of you are going to be right. But a lot of you can be completely off especially if there are shockers. Im sure there are a lot of things we aren’t expecting. That’s my prediction haha.

yeah, i pretty much agree with you. im not bothering to really try to guess which characters each episode is about, but instead just what kinds of things are gonna happen. like for “Try Honesty”, someone’s probably gonna be lying like crazy, or a huge lie will come out or something. and “99 Problems” will probably be somebody with, like, nothing good going on for them. either that, or that there’s only one good thing in their life, in which case, of course that one good thing would have to suddenly go wrong. and “Better Off Alone” is probably a breakup, or someone trying to resist getting back together after a previous breakup. so then i’ve been looking at my predicted vague storylines and see if theres one particular character that they would apply to. like “My Body Is A Cage” has got to be about Adam, because he wants to have a different body.

No im not a “debby downer” and i’m not starting to cause drama but if everyone can say what they think is going to happen, why can’t I say my opinion on that. Like I said with Danger Zone, juts from the title you can’t know its Holly J and Spinner. So when people are saying “What a Girl Wants” is OBVIOUSLY Fiona and My Body is a Cage” is OBVIOUSLY Adam, they can be right because it seems like that to me also, but they can also be completely wrong and may be disappointed with the outcome This is what happened with the prom episode and everyone was let down because what they thought was going to happen didn’t. We might find out that our speculations about Adam is completely wrong and everyone is going to be upset…

okay so i have three clues, only cause i LOVE these songs. “Try Honesty” is by Billy Talent and deals with facades and not being what everyone wants you to be. I think it may be the Adam episode. “My Body is A Cage” by Arcade Fire, deals with loving someone you can’t- for whatever reason as the ‘body’ referred to is intended to be metaphorical. I believe it may be a major Riley episode as he wants to be with Zane obvious but he still doesn’t seem ready to come out all the way. “All Falls Down” I’m thinking is the song by One Republic that actually “All Fall Down”. Deals in depression and bad love. I’m pretty sure this will be the Fiona episode where something major happens. FYI I really like how the episode titles have broken out of 80’s music mode and become more modern as the show itself has- not that I don’t mind a little vintage.
