Lots of preparation is under way for Season 10, which starts shooting at the end of March. Yesterday Stefan Brogren tweeted that they had started casting for Season 10. It’s going to be interesting to see who goes and who stays…and also who the new characters will be.
Today, Stefan also said they’re testing out a Red camera on the set the entire day. If you have no idea what that is, all you need to know is it’s sweeet. It’s a digital cinema camera that shoots in a resolution higher than HD….in other words, the resolution is high enough to be projected onto a movie screen and still look good.
MAN I wish I could watch Degrassi in HD.

Actually, Degrassi’s already a magnet school. Which strikes me as odd. At the end of Degrassi Junior High, the middle school burns down, and grades 7 and 8 are transferred to the High School. Then the high school is closed for renovations. Then TNG starts and poof! the middle school’s reopened as DegrassiCommunity School and the high school closes down.

that would be cool. they dont show parents that often on the show anyway though, kc’s parents are in jail, he lives in a group home, ellie lived by herself, many lived with the nelsons, a lot of people had parent issues, especially craig, leaving his dad because he beat him and living with joey. but well see what the rest of season 9 and season 10 bring us! :)

I am ready for Degrassi to deal with real issues, instead of the romance drama. I can watch that on regular old American TV. Degrassi is the best show ever. I can’t get enough of it.

No, most of the characters are returning. Well, the freshman should be anyway. It wouldn’t make sense to get rid of them after a season or two. Plus, they are adding four Grade 11’s because right now they don’t have any Grade 10’s right now, which next season will be Grade 11’s. I’m 16, and even though I’m Canadian, I live in the states, so I don’t think I could be on Degrassi, even though it would be so cool. Good luck whoever is auditioning/auditioned!

In other news, both The Vampire Diaries and 90210 have been renewed for the 2010-2011 season! And speaking of: Did you guys catch that vampire leaving the tomb and roaming Fall’s Church at night at the end of the last TVD until the end of March? Talk about a cliffhanger. Sarah you need to grow up, the demographic for these type of shows include both male and females. Meaning both male and females watch them. Degrassi has storylines for both guys and girls so they can relate. Drake and Josh has male main characters and would relate to guys a bit more. Full house is about family values, althought it wouldnt watch it.
The O.C whose real main character was ryan has guy and girl fans, same with One Tree Hill. You can call out somebody on what they watch. Because there are many females who watch wrestling and guys who watch womens volleyball.

There are ALOT of male degrassi fans. The airtime with guys and girls have been spread out throught the season, Girls and Guys have been sharing the camera time. So idk what you are talking about. Ali, Clare, Jane only had about 2-3 episodes. We barely seen alli and i will agree that Holly J has had alot. Declan and Dave have had alot of airtime. Okay i watch TVD cuz katarina graham is hot, but thats not the only reason. That just like saying all the girls watch degrassi cuz spinner is hot. haha yeah…. a friend of mine called me gay for watching degrassi but i can assure you i’m a 100% straight 14 year old haha. and straight guys watching those shows might be a bit more common than ya think… we dont just watch sports haha

No way you are pretty! Such nice eyes. They dont look for models you know they just like normal looking people. you should google talent agents near you. Alot of them actually do training like the AMP talent group. For your head shot you should do more straight forward faces preferably with a smile so they see your personality and face.

Random and it’s over but I feel like saying my opinion on it anyhow.
Sarah didn’t say anyone was gay for watching Degrassi and being male. So that issue is ridiculous to bring up, however judging someone as “weird” for what shows they watch still is judgmental and not the best quality to have IMO. Everything was blown up in that sense. And I love Degrassi because drama stuff is fun to watch period, + Ali’s my new celeb/character crush like Manny was lol.
And the whole try outs thing. I think if the character existed, and you asked about it on twitter it’d be ignored if real. They wouldn’t go “NOPE NOT REAL” only for it to be real, they would ignore it if the character was real. I don’t remember the other person’s name who said they tried out, but I kinda believe them so good luck!
I hope Season 10 takes on more issues then just romance ( as drama stuffs my favorite bit about degrassi ). Though they mentioned Craig’s Dad being abusive I don’t recall him ever being abused or the storyline being big built around it, so it’d be nice to see a character like Derek be beaten, have scars, swear Danny to secrecy, Danny does the usual tv show ~ have to be a real friend ~ and tell, that way we’d have more of an insight on why Derek can be such an ass at times. I really am looking forward to Anya’s storyline though … possible preggers? Rick was more KO abusive, but I’d like to see a more emotional abusive relationship in a season too that lasts and shows how self confidence can be broken etc. in it and would be a good underdog story to get the character some fans for when she finally stands up for herself etc. ( Jenna doing this roll some time could work maybe )
But yeah, can’t wait for Season 10 and hope they go more real and less ~high school love~ drama, as it looks like they might with the new promos.

Derek is on the show, he’s on the Season 9 character page, he just hasn’t appeared yet. I’m always gonna wonder what happened to him, but his only appearance will probably be in keep on loving you. And I don’t know if you noticed, but they distinctly called him down to the office in Up Where We Belong, but didn’t appear in that episode, so we never found out why. Maybe he got expelled.
