In the most exciting news yet, Stephen Stohn revealed on twitter that Degrassi Season 9 will premiere in Canada on Sunday, October 4th! The Exec got the info from a press release that CTV sent out today, which revealed their fall lineup:
That means after Degrassi Goes Hollywood airs on August 30th, they’ll have five weeks to promote the new season of Degrassi, whose ratings have gone downhill in Canada over the past few years. That’s unacceptable, given the fact CTV is Canada’s #1 network.
With the DGH movie having RECORD-BREAKING ratings here in the U.S., the hope is that it’ll do the same in Canada…boosting Degrassi’s CTV ratings and serve as a great lead-in to the new season. And ever since I’ve started following Stefan Brogren on twitter, I’ve become confident that Season 9 will be the best season in years.
With the new season starting on CTV later than I expected (I was assuming Sept. 27), there’s been no word on how it’ll affect the Season 9 premiere on TeenNick. Kyle, a mod/admin over at CableTVTalk has access to TeenNick’s restricted press site, and reported a month ago that Friday October 9th was the target date…but nothing has been 100% confirmed yet.

Thanks! Ohhh man I can’t wait either, we’ve basically got a month to sit around and twiddle our thumbs. At least the season 8 DVD comes out next week…ultimate degrassi marathon!!

I can not wait for Degrassi season 9. I hope it will be good. I think spinner will be the only one left from season 9. I can’t believe it. And I saw the wiki stuff about the description of season 9 episodes but I doubt there right because they said all this crazy stuff about people killing each other. So, I have to just wait for October.
