I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised at the early exits of Clare and Fiona, especially Fiona who is currently at the top of the mind for fans since she’s in the midst of a storyline on the show.
I was asked about hiding the results of the matchups before they’re finished (something I’ll probably end up doing in the final rounds), but the Marco vs. Adam battle is a good example of why the results should be readily available. Adam only won by 8 votes. He was losing going into the second day of voting, but not by much. They kept going back and forth the entire day. I predicted Adam would make it to the Final Four, but if he was barely able to get past Marco, I don’t see how he stands a chance against JT.
There are 16 characters left. For those who didn’t think the old school TNG characters stood a chance in this tournament, they now outnumber the new-school characters.

BRACKET POOL STANDINGS
Below are the current standings as of March 20th. In this 2nd Round you received 2 points for every correct guess.
A majority of the people in the pool (myself included) had Clare and Fiona moving onto the Sweet 16. Some it only hurt them a bit; others it busted the entire Loftier Ambitions section of their bracket. The first two rounds can be forgiving if you make a few mistakes. A lot of people have picked the same handful of characters for the Final Four/Championship rounds, so how well you do in the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds could be the difference between you winning and losing.
Kary’s Bracket – 57 pts (I did well in the 2nd round because I was perfect on the entire left side of the bracket. There were so many people who were so close to doing the same, but got tripped up because they incorrectly picked Katie, Imogen or both. I had Clare going all the way to the Final Four. That will hurt more down the road than it does now, but the rest of my bracket is still intact for the moment.)

I’m only sad about Alex losing to Tristan and Liberty losing to Mr. Simpson. Other than that I’m not surprised by the first round.
I hope there are at least some older characters in the top 8 and beyond…

Count me in as another who is disappointed about Liberty losing to Simpson. I would have expected this in the earlier seasons, but in the later seasons I know Liberty gained a few more fans.
I’m disappointed by Wesley and Toby losing too, but I expected that (but kudos to Tobes for getting as much as 32% against the pretty boy!).
Jane is another favorite of mine that I expected to advance beyond the first round. I never knew Anya was that popular, LOL.
I’m not happy about Emma winning. Ugh, I never thought that I’d be voting for Clare…
Craig is actually losing! Awesome!

As much as I love Liberty, Snake has rocked it out this season, particularly last week, and I love that it’s so close between him and Bianca. Vote for Snake!

Kary, not sure if you can, but you should make it so that we can’t see the voting percentages of who’s in the lead before the results are revealed…
Also there is definitely momentum affecting the tournament which is fun to see. For instance, Dallas and Cam getting the #1 seed after Bitter Sweet Symphony. Maybe Cam would’ve gotten a 1 seed anyway, but prior to BSS, I’m not sure Dallas would have, which is cool. Also, Simpson (coming off of his recent performance in Ray of Light) got past Liberty and is cutting it close with Bianca, which surprises the hell out of me lol.

That’s a good idea for the later rounds (Final Four, and most definitely the championship), but for now it’s too inconvenient on my end for technical reasons. Also, because I’m doing the bracket pool, I’d like for people doing that to be able to keep tabs on what’s happening in case they’re keeping up with their own brackets.

Kary, did you forget to add Melissa DiMarcos character? She was the beautiful teacher, and later Principle, that was nicknamed Miss Hot Sauce. In real life she has a show called “Out There with Melissa Dimarco” that is shown in Canada.

I couldn’t agree more. Where are these Emma fans coming from? She was losing yesterday. Outside of the-n/Teen Nick and a few fanfiction.net authors, she doesn’t seem to be a well-liked character (and deservedly so). Even Clare gets less hate than she does.
Damn, now Craig’s in the lead. He was losing yesterday too. Team Fiona!

Wow that was a close one I am very surprised that Emma beat Claire, Marco and Adam were really close and either way happy for the winner, How the hell did Paige win???, some of these were close too and wow Snake nice. I wonder if the actors themselves come in and vote lol

I think the next group of winners will be Cam, Spinner, Mike, JT, Ellie, Holly J, Eli, and Maya although with the looks of the way this has been going it can go either way for some.

I was quite pleased with the results this round. The only one I didn’t predict was Emma winning.
I’ve realized that for the final four I picked Cam, JT, Ellie & Eli, so the finals will be Dead vs Self-Destructive. Although now that I think about it, they’re the four characters who ever attempted to kill themselves (if you count Ellie’s trip to the ocean and Eli totalling the hearse).
