Normally I can’t wait for the weekend to get here…now I’m ready for it to be over before it’s gotten under way.
It’s been announced that TeenNick’s big promo for the upcoming Season 12 summer block, Degrassi: Showdown, will be released on Monday, May 28th.
It’s kinda weird that it’s being released on Memorial Day, but whatev. If it feels like they’re debuting this promo earlier than normal, that’s because Season 11 ended later than usual…it’s right on par with the premiere date of last year’s Steal Your Heart promo (5/27) and 2010’s Shark In The Water promo (5/21).

I don’t think any other season promo will ever top Shark In The Water. Not just because it set the blueprint for these other promos,it’s just damn amazing, The fact that i still watch it says enough

i heard that the shark in the water director is directing the showdown but steal your heart was done by another person, so it should be as good as shark in the water

IM PRAYING THIS SHOWDOWN IS ABOUT HOMOPHOBIA. IT would be really good, and I feel it could go a lot of places, and help most of the enormous cast have screentime for the season. Hopefully, this new promo tops SITW and SYH.

I bet its about homophobia also. I read somewhere in an artical that Dallas (newbie) is trying to become the leader of the Jesus Club and they think this guy is the one behind the anti-gay slurs. They twins have their own issues as rumours around school that they’re a little to ‘intimate’. It was a month ago and I cant remember where I saw it.

Katie almost seems like she’s going a similar route to that of Miss Ashley Kerwin. School President, Jock Boyfriend, Drugs, fall from grace, etc.

I think LGBT would be a good underlying topic/story for Showdown. The Boiling Point seemed to deal a lot with bullying. Bianca, Owen and Fitz were really coming down hard on the other kids and all played parts in the big All Falls Down finale. Then Now or Never had the gang violence that kicked off in Boom Boom Pow and concluded in Dead and Gone. I’m liking the use they get out of the telenovelas in that sense.

It seems in the last TeenNick Promo it looks like Eli and Clare are going to be on opposite sides on something as to Eli & this Newbie named Becky. I guess we will get a better idea on this new promo. They only thing that Eli and Clare are opposite in regards is religion.

IT JUST AIRED! I ONLY CAUGHT HALF OF IT THOUGH :/… Not as good as SITW or SYH, or even close in my opinion… hopefully it’s just because I didn’t see much of it…
– Basically the school’s is being torn apart because of the two sides
– Tristan was being bullied by the Hockey kids
– Eli was arguing with that new girl Becky over something in the drama club
That’s pretty much all I saw and all I really remember… Kind of underwhelming, from my first look at it, but like I said, I didn’t see much.

Definitely a lot different from the other two Summer promos. More comical than anything else. And whoever said there was no Imogen or Fiona in it was right.. GRRRR. Well, I guess that’s it. -.-

In the new promo basicaly is that tristan is being bullied by the hocky team.the captain is mike dallas who’s homophobe
Eli is arguing with becky in the drama club and dave tristan and adam are trying to stay out of it
Maya likes the new guy campbell but their friends are keeping them apart
Katie and drew are still in a relationship but its being torn apart by bianca who drew wants to be with but can’t
I don’t know why fionna imogen ally jenna or kc aren’t in promo
