I still don’t see how they managed to make an epsiode where EClare aren’t even the main plot, all about them and their non-existent relationship. They haven’t even been building it up or made it even seem remotely likely, so why set yourself up to have a bunch of pissed off fans when that couple doesn’t get back together?

Teen Nick seems to love playing off the drama. Just look at last week’s promo about Drew. I think some people are setting themselves up for disappointment. If Eclare somehow got together, ignoring no build up and Clare’s obvious discomfort, I think there would be more pissed off fans (including some Eclare fans) than happy ones.

I agree with you Aya although i dont think fans will be pissed they got back together. I honestly wont be so happy because as you said they are completely ignoring Clares discomfort AND they havnt had much drama before this. I mean sure with the jake and Imogen thing but they havnt had any type of hardcore drama that made them realize they need to be together. They havnt even talked since the hospital scene with Adam!!!!!! I do not think this is gonna work out for them……..

I think some fans will be happy regardless even though they had such little interaction and Eli remains the same clingy, suffocating boyfriend he was with her (and Imogen). There’s barely a friendship to speak of now to build off of and they both moved on. Clare still sees Eli as too much to deal with and they’d break up nearly as fast Eli and Imogen did which would piss off other fans (some Eclare fans too) because it would’ve been a predictable waste and a likely repeat on Eli’s end.

If Eli wants more from Clare than friendship, I think he’ll be disappointed. Clare didn’t even appear all that comfortable having him there and I don’t see her wanting to rekindle romance when his little outburst about the play only made things worse.

The best part about Part 1 was that we got to see K.C. and Clare interacting again. I’m glad they’re friends again.

I agree. Those parts were my favorite. It was nice to see the characters actually recognize they had a friendship. And when Connor said something like “Why can’t we all just be friends like we used to be.” I about teared up! It was nice to have a plot without a bunch of relationship drama… That was until Eli showed up. I really wish the show hadnt done that. Sigh.. It was nice while it lasted…

I got to say I can appreciate Teennick’s commercial… not because I am an obsessed fan girl that wants to see an episode all about Eli and Clare but because last finally there promo showed too much and it was quite easy to figure out what happens. This time by showing so many old parts we have no clue whats going to happen–refreshing…

At least with Drianca/Krew they were the A plot, the main event of the two parts. So even if Teennick’s adtime completely misplaced the efforts, it was still the main stage.
Eclare? It’s the B plot for the finale. Fiona and her family issues are the main event, and TeenNick still makes it an Eclare hour.
I am waiting for a Clare C-plot to be given the main stage for the promo, then TeenNick will prove they can take any ep and make it about Eclare (bonus: if Eli is never in the actual ep, it is a Clare solo C-plot).

I think Eli just wants to know how Clare feels about him generally speaking. I think Eli wants Clare to open up her true deep feelings and they may hurt him. I think Eli just wants to bury the hatchet. Fiona and Imogen just make me ill. I just want Imogen and Eli together or Eli to be single for a long while. Clare was Eli’s obsession.

That sounds like the most likely outcome. I’m not shocked, but I’m disappointed that Teen Nick is making this a big deal, as if Fiona’s issues are minor in comparison. I think there will be a lot of disappointment and some relief from different fans. I’m still on the fence about whether or not Fiona and Imogen share an actual kiss. It could be a near kiss.

Many fans may be very disappointed with this final. Eli and Clare may not happen in the romance dept. I honestly think Clare is still scared of Eli. After Imogen and Fiona kiss Fiona will head off th NY without Imogen.

Clare’s plot is basically about sewing up old wounds. Meaning starting over from scatch. She made amends to her old friends and enemies. The hard one is Eli. I think Eli wants to know if they can ever befriends again and some closure so he move on. I don’t think they will get back together. Im a scorned Imogeli shipper so I do know how the Eclare shippers feel.

I LOVE that the TeenNick promo sucked. No chance of spoilers there. If I can hear half the things in the MM promo, I’m sure it’d have 1 spoilerish line or something (like “your mom has been arrested” from last week)
TeenNick is just straight up ridiculous. Like someone above said, it’s like they completely remove the core issue and make it about romance. As if this whole episode is about Eclare reuniting. Or Hollaback Girl was about Drew not knowing who to choose.

Aaaaand this concludes the end of a frankly appalling Degrassi season. Which is odd, because each individual episode (taken as 1 hour whole) has been pretty good. Yet I can’t help feeling that the season sucked. There was no (or hardly) continuity between each episodes. No sense of “community” within the school (read, some characters appearing once at the start and once at the end, just for their own plot). Am I the only one thinking that? It’s just felt so completely discontinued. What would have been the harm in having Fiona walk past Marisol half way through the season and them insulting each other. Or have Eli chat to Clare once in Episode 14, etc. etc. (say, when chatting to Adam about his secret admirer). Am I the only one thinking that?
In previous seasons, its always felt like the characters interacted within a school, and there was a real flow to each season. Now, it just feels like there are episodes about characters, and the school barely exists any more. This applies to old school degrassi as much as newer seasons (except this one). Where’s the community, and pointless scenes that make us believe these are characters that go to the same school!

I strongly believe that Eli means becoming friends again with Clare.
Getting actual closure, “I need to know what you actually think of me,” I think he said in the MuchMusic promo. I agree with the people saying that for E-Clare to get back together would not make any sense since nothing built up onto it. Empty promises are fulfilled in the TeenNick promo, so I’m not holding my breath.

I loved Eli and Clares friendship as a couple I never cared for. Adam, Eli and Clare had a great great bond in their friendship. Soon as Eli and Clare started dating I noticed Adam feeling left out though out the season. In these season Adam seems happier that Clare & Eli are apart

I’m so glad I found this. As much as I like EClare it bothered me that the promo I got to see on TV was that *thing* TeenNick showed. I was much more interested in seeing a clip of what is going to happen to Fiona seeing as her story is the main point. Thank you MuchMusic for giving me something decent to speculate about! And yeah TeenNick just seems evil by setting up expectations like that (the finale isn’t out yet but I feel toyed with anyway) when chances are they’re just going to be friends again and nothing else. I mean it makes no sense for that to happen considering the last time they had some interaction was in Nowhere to Run and it’s not like they had a decent conversation. WTH TeenNick, WTH.

Really liked part one. Cliff-hangerish ending. K.C., Clare, Connor, and Alli friends again. Clare is finally getting her life back together. Me gusta Degrassi right now.

To many things wrong with the TeenNick commercial. As much as I adore Eclare, that’s not what the episode is about. I think their overselling just to try and make a profit. More importantly, the promo revealed absolutely nothing new – there really isn’t any point to it at all.

Does it seem like this season had about four episodes? This season can’t even be considered bad because nothing happened. Nothing. Episodes with their own conflicts beginning and ending with no continuation…not a good call for Degrassi. It works on a funny show like Victorious but on this dramatic show just no.
I love the Clare/Eli/Adam friendship. I would watch an entire show with just those crazy kids. Clare and Eli talking art and literature with Adam being all…you guys are weird.

I know Maya is mad that at being convinced to attend Degrassi versus that art school, but it’s not really the right time to be mad at Katie when she needs the support of her entire family. Perhaps the strings gig is her way to blow off steam.

People need to calm down about the promotion of Eli and Clare in the Teennick promo. We all know that Eli and Clare’s relationship has a huge following and Teennick is playing that in order to get people to watch. Believe it or not, what Teennick is doing is not overshadowing the main plot with relationship drama, but rather catching the viewer’s eye in an attempt to rise viewer attention. Let’s be honest, no matter what the promo, every one of you is going to watch the episode. Plus, so many people are obsessing over attacking the promos of an Eli/Clare reunion that no matter what the episode or promo, if Eli and Clare even so much as glance at each other, these people would practically start an online riot about too much relationship drama. I think we all need to cool down and stop analyzing these promos because the people making them know that’s what we are doing and so they are trying to play that. Think about it; all your comments against the promo are still talking about the promo and like they say, no publicity is bad publicity; keep us talking about it, keep it relevant to our lives. Teennick is actually quite smart to release this type of promo, playing both sides of the EClare fanbase. Everyone should just realize that they are a business to make money and that they would promote anything to bring up profit. It’s life, get over it.

I want Eli and Clare to get back together. As much as clare LOOKED uncomfortable, whenever she sees him she just stops in her tracks and freezes. That may not be fear. That could be clares way of holding onto feelings that she thought she lost when Eli had his outbreak. I dont know. I really hope they get back together. They are so much a like… after eli realized hes NOT sick in the head after the outburst with imogen, i really think his life is going to get better. Oh, and Imogen x Fiona is the cutest thing ever. <3

Clare became obviously uncomfortable after Eli’s outburst about the play. Her freezes are less likely to do with romantic feelings and more on uncertainty of what Eli will do. She doesn’t trust him, she fears his reactions. Clare cannot deal with Eli when he flies off the handle neither could Imogen. Even without being bipolar, he showed signs of being suffocating and clingy just like when he was dating Clare – a big reason Clare wanted to take a break but he didn’t.
Eli knows he has bipolar. I don’t see any similarities that they share (including personality wise) outside of writing. Eli needs to take care of himself, relationships have just spiraled him further down especially since he’s still in the early stages after diagnosis.

Also Hannah hasn’t had any time on the show either. But in recent seasons it’s more obvious that some characters always get more drama story lines and others get the bread crumbs. It’s likely very frustrating getting crumbs and seeing other co stars getting a lot more.

Meh. I think people overreact far too much over the promos. It’s not like the Degrassi team is behind these promos, so I can’t fault them for how Eclare is publicized. They haven’t been giving us “The Eclare Show” in the actual episodes, and that’s all that really matters to me.
I look forward to seeing Fiona finally find some real happiness in a romantic relationship, a friendship reboot with Eclare, and more Maya Matlin because she is definitely the best niner.

im thinking that eli just wants to be friends with clare. We have seen him get better and move on. It wont make sense if eli jutst pops up out of the bloom and try to get back with clare. I just think that he misses the great friendship they had and he just wants it back. thats why he asked “i wanna know what u think of me”. By the way, if u really watched the last episode about eli, u would of seen that he wasnt being clingy and dependent. he was tired of people treating him different for being bipolar and thinking that everything he does is because of it. Eli is a lot better now and he knows that getting back with clare will end badly.
As for fiona and imogen, im guessing that since fiona is moving back to New York, she realizes that she needs to confess her crush to imogen. Im thinking that they might kiss but it will be a good-bye kiss.
