PLOT A SUMMARY: Tensions are high in the Edwards/Martin household after Clare and Jake’s breakup. It’s Jake’s birthday and Helen thinks they should celebrate his birthday with a barbeque. Glen tells Jake he should invite his “new girl” to join them. Clare assumes the girl is Alli, but finds out that it’s actually Jenna. Clare stops by a bookshop and meets a girl named Summer. Clare vents all of her frustration to her, and Summer offers Clare a place to stay if she ever wants to just get away from it all.
At dinner Jenna talks about her pregnancy/adoption, and to Clare’s dismay Glen and Helen react positively toward Jenna instead of judging her harshly. Outraged because she feels they’re being hypocritical, Clare abruptly leaves the table. She meets with her dad and tells him she wants to move in with him, but he tells her he doesn’t have enough room at his apartment because of his girlfriend and her kids. Clare returns home and pleads with her mom to talk things out, but Helen doesn’t know what to say. Clare tells her that she’s going to stay with her dad, but ends up going to stay at Summer’s house.
At school Jake tells Clare that after she left, Helen spent the night crying. Clare goes home thinking she and her mom will reconcile, but Helen tells Clare that it probably is a good idea for her to stay with her dad for a while. Clare’s enjoying staying at Summer and Cash’s until she learns of their secret…they grow and sell weed. At school again Jake tells Clare he knows she hasn’t been staying at her dad’s, and to get him off her back she gives him an address to Summer’s place. Clare returns to Summer’s to find out they’re moving because the cops are onto them. Jake busts into their house to get Clare, but Cash won’t let them leave. The cops bust in and arrest everyone, but eventually let Clare and Jake go because they know the two weren’t involved. The two laugh off the situation, and while they don’t tell Helen what happened, Clare does tell her that she wants to come home.
Finally, a Clare plot worth watching. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to watch Clare without cringing, but it was worth it. In reality the issue was never really about “whiny, selfish” Clare. Though she was being annoying, you could see why she felt the way she did…those feelings felt real.
The problem all along was that Clare’s turmoil was like an 8-year-old playing with makeup: the face (Clare’s struggles with her parents’ divorce) was caked in makeup (relationship b.s. with Jake), so everything looked like a mess. With Cake out of the way, we could finally get to the heart of the issue, as well as genuinely feel sorry for Clare.
I’m at a loss for words when it comes to Clare’s parents. Randall’s response to Clare’s request to live with him wasn’t all that surprising. Why would he want the responsibility of being a real parent now that he’s had a taste of “freedom” from marriage and parenthood? Helen on the other hand…ironically she’s become more selfish than Clare ever was. Helen went from being insanely uptight to basically not giving a damn…it’s a wonder Clare was ever stable at all since her arrival on the show. Watching Clare get rejected by both parents hurt. Watching her finally say everything she needed to say to a group of strangers hurt even more. The drug-dealing hippies were just a means to help Clare and Jake bond as siblings. I despised Cake as a couple…I love them as brother and sister. They’re on equal playing fields. And maybe now that we’ve seen Clare at her worst, we can watch as she slowly returns to being herself again.

PLOT B SUMMARY: Connor decides to join the football team, one of the reasons being to help himself learn how to socialize with his peers. He has no trouble doing the football drills, beating out Mo for the starting nose tackle position. However, he still doesn’t know how to fit in yet: he doesn’t understand a joke Drew and Owen make, and then when he over laughs at Mo’s joke (because he thought that’s what he’s supposed to do), he insults Mo. He also unintentionally insults Mo’s weight. Mo’s only on the team to pick up girls, so he has no problems being rude to Connor. Connor decides to play a joke on Mo by creating a fake Facerange profile and luring Mo into a date with a “hot girl” at The Dot.
Mo skips the football game to meet the girl, but shows up near the end of the game disappointed because he was stood up. Connor admits that it was a prank, and tells Mo they should be friends because they’re both wanting to be accepted. They both go into the game on the final play, and knowing the only way they can change the way their teammates see them is to win the game, they decide to pretend like they’re arguing to throw off the offense. It works: Connor causes the QB to fumble, and Mo grabs the ball and scores the game-winning touchdown.
This is the second time Mo has started off as a douchebag only to wind up in my good graces in the end. This plot was fantastic from beginning to end. As easy as it would’ve been for Connor to have returned to Degrassi and be “cured” so speak, I’m so glad that they took the time to show us that he still had no concept of how to socialize properly with others, and he didn‘t even know where to begin to fix it. Despite different backgrounds, we got to see two people going about finding acceptance in two different ways. Watching Mo beat up on himself after being “stood up” made me realize something. A line from the original description for Mo’s character (originally named Dennis) said he “has always struggled with his weight, and as a consequence, has taken a social backseat for most of high school.” Not Ready To Make Nice showed us the “social backseat” side of that description…let’s hope they bring his weight into the fold as well.
Oh, and the final scene of this plot, where Connor and Mo basically reenacted Clare’s “Did you ever love me at all” meltdown? Entertainment gold. It’s easily one of the best moments of Season 11.

PLOT C SUMMARY: Fiona realizes she has a crush on Imogen, so her plan to nip it in the bud is simple: she tries to hook Imogen and Eli up. Eli admits that he has feelings for Imogen, while Imogen’s feelings are somewhat unknown. Fiona invites them both of them to her loft, where she has a picnic laid out for them. Fiona told Eli she was setting them up, but not Imogen, who looks uncomfortable about the situation. Eli leaves and Imogen questions why Fiona is being so pushy about getting her and Eli together. Imogen thinks that Fiona is doing it because she doesn’t want to be friends anymore, but Fiona assures her that’s not the case. Later, Eli and Imogen tell Fiona that they talked and have decided to go out on a date. Fiona’s plan worked; she pretends to be happy for them, but feels sad because she still has feelings for Imogen.
The Season 11 trend of forcing characters into relationships continues. Whatever happened to ships having some sort of chemistry, as opposed to being randomly slapped together? It’s a shame I’ve gotta rip this storyline so far, because I like Fiona, Imogen and Eli. Part 1 left me feeling “ehhhh,” and then Part 2 left me saying “WTF just happened?”
Imogeli has zero romantic chemistry. Eli suddenly having feelings for Imogen doesn’t feel genuine because of the lack of screen time Imogeli has had following their fiasco during Now Or Never. Never once before this episode has he shown attraction toward her in a romantic way. One could use the look he gave at the end of Dirt Off Your Shoulder Pt 1, but that’s still a stretch…Eli wasn’t in a proper state of mind upon meeting Imogen to begin with. Even on Imogen’s side, she didn’t seem very interested in a romantic relationship with Eli in this episode, and she used to be freakin obsessed with the guy. How am I supposed to ship Imogeli when Imogeli doesn’t even seem genuinely interested in each other?
And when it comes to Fimogen, any romantic potential feels tainted by the idea that they’re just looking to give Fiona something to do, so love must be the only option. And since love is the only option, Imogen is the only viable character on the show to play her love interest. I’ve come to a simple conlusion: the Fiona/Imogen/Eli friendships are great. The romantic feelings and the couples and the love triangle? Not so much. It’s nothing more than a race to see which Imogen-related couple can be forced down our throats the hardest.

I totally agree with you. I am not feeling Fiona’s crush on Imogen but I do feel Eli’s crush on Imogen.
Connor has been one of favorite characters and AJ does just a fantastic job and its sad that hes an underated character.
Clare, Oh Clare I know shes feels like feels rejected by her family and is very unhappy. Her parents brains are stuck in the clouds becuase the are happier. This poor girl has been sheltered and does not no anything about the outside world. What she was learned about in her faith is shattered. She isolated herself from everyone due her deep depression in whicjh could led to more serious problems like suicidal thoughts, drinking, drugs and the list goes on. I hope this is hers and her parents wake up call. For the people who think Jake and Clare never loved each other Boo To You. I hope Clare just gets therapy.

I’ve been thinking this since way back in season ten with the whole Plath comment. Wouldn’t it be pretty something if in the end it wasn’t Eli who would commit suicide but Clare. I mean remember when we all thought Eli’s suicide was unavoidable. I mean at first he basically defined himself by everything darkness and death. Degrassi is in need of a suicide plot-line and with Clare they may be able to pull it off without repercussions since well she’s messed up in a way that can not just be defined by a single event like rape or your girlfriend dying. I mean sure Clare is struggling with her parents divorce but it is even greater than that. For so long she had her heightened assumptions and expectations from not only her parents but for her world. Realizing that she had in reality been living in her own fantasy world has proven to be disastrous. She needs stable ground but has not been able to find it. i can see her character’s story going in so many directions but suicide would seem like a reasonable one. They wouldn’t be justifying suicide in this instance especially with a character that many at once loved but have started to hate. They would be showing how suicide is a tragic event but how it appears to be something that pops out of nowhere; somewhere it is least expected. At least from the view of the other characters on the show. The viewers on the other hand would be seeing how it would be a buildup of upsets,thoughts and feelings of hopelessness and complete loss but no general cause or reason. I think it would be pretty amazing for this character to have started one way and to take such a drastic change by the end of her stay on the show.

Oh don’t say that!!! If Clare kills herself I would be soooo sad, I’m not saying it wouldn’t be believable the way they are going now but I really wouldn’t be able to continue watching the show if they did that, there are better plots they could do with Clare, I for one would be really happy to see something that finally shows us whether or not she can be independent and happy at the same time. I was routing for the Cult line but the more I see of the promo pics and videos the more I think they’re not doing that, and even if they were, if it all gets cleared up in the next episode (which also looks very likely though I’m hoping to be wrong) then it wouldn’t have been worth it anyway.

I actually agree with this. Degrassi hasn’t had a proper suicide plot in so long and if any character of the current Degrassi could pull it off, it would be Clare. I don’t hate Clare, in fact I like her character most of the time, but recently I’ve felt that her character really doesn’t have anywhere else to go. I mean, her mums character has totally changed, she has to forget the fact that her stepbrother is her ex-boyfriend who she almost had sex with, and act like they’re siblings, which hurts more by the fact that Jake is finding it very easy to do this when i don’t think she is. And then on top of all this, she is now totally friendless. I feel like the best plot you could get out of Clare now is to slowly show her deteriorating as she tries to get the life she once had back and fails at it. I can see her trying to become friends with Ali again, only to find that Ali neither wants nor needs her anymore and having no one to comfort her because it feels uncomfortable with Jake and her mother just doesn’t know how to help. Until, eventually, she kills herself and then the aftershock would be great to see. I would love to see Jake and Eli’s reaction to it. I think it’s a really good idea, but knowing Degrassi, they’ll probably just find her another boyfriend, make her be happy for a couple more episodes, and then make her depressed again and it’ll be like that for the rest of the time Clare’s on Degrassi.

Just on a random note, I think Summer is the second person Clare sends to jail (indirectly) xD oh Clare…
but I really did like the Clare plot on this one. You could feel how hurt and rejected she’s felt. She just wanted to feel wanted. And I don’t know if anyone else feels like this but I felt like Jake has easily accepted the fact that Clare is his new sister. The way he told Summer’s boyfriend that he was just there to get his sister…kind of seemed like a brotherly move. Don’t know if I’m reading too much into it, but that’s what I thought.

Althought I’m sad that Clare storyline concluded this fast, I must say I really enjoyed this new relationship for Clare and Jake. They’re better as brother and sister then lovers XD
I really liked the Mo/Connor plot. And the reference to Clare was hysterical!
I was dissapointed by the Fiona/Imogen/Eli plot. It was really meh and it felt forced, like they needed Imogen and Eli in a relationship so they pushed it. Althought next week should be interesting with crazy Eli back :D

Why is Clare Edwards still breathing? I would have preferred watching 30 minutes of Jenna serenading Jake than hear Clare continue to whine and complain about her poor, poor, pitiful life. She is even worse than Emma. At least Emma provided us with sporadic Snake/Spike scenes.
I would love to enjoy Eli/Imogen (despite not being a couple shipper) but the show is trying too hard to force them together. With that said, I’m more than willing to give them a chance because A) it’s not Eclare and B) IT’S NOT ECLARE.

Yikes, you might be right. And how truly disturbing is that? But fortunately for all of us Ms. Paul is an actor, whereas Ms. McDonald was…well, let’s just say that she was something else.
Save for the absence of Mr. Tuxedo Pants, I have no problem whatsoever with the Eli/Imogen/Fiona plot. Although whoever directed those particular scenes did a shockingly poor job (for example, given the abilities of these particular actors, simple changes in the blocking and camera angles alone could have improved by an order of magnitude the chemistry/tension between Fiona and Imogen), I believe Kary’s grade of D+ is a bit unfair. A more appropriate grade would be an I, for Incomplete. Let’s hope the actors are provided in future episodes with reasonable opportunities to bring the material to life. Those opportunities will require competent direction.

I’ll probably post more opinions later, but my number one thought right now is that Connor’s acceptance into the football crowd is the writers’ excuse to phase Wesley out of the show. And that makes me very sad.

They didn’t even have Wesley cheering his friend on. In a situation like that, you would most certainly expect to see the one friend you DO have (KC doesn’t count) standing by your side, rooting for you during the game. I was never really that much of a Connor/Wesley fan, but they are part of the Degrassi-verse and the writers did invest some time into them, so I don’t understand why they would phase them out long before graduation. Unless the actor wanted out for university or to persue other projects and was able to negotiate out of their contract, it honestly doesn’t make sense why they couldn’t use them sparingly in other plots.
Are we even going to see Wesley at all this season? At least we know Adam is back next week. This is what happens with an ensemble cast where certain characters get the majority of the airtime (Clare & Katie for example) and others seem to be filler material.

Someone on Degrassi Wiki posted at the end of February that the girl who plays Hannah confirmed that both she and Spencer have filmed new scenes. Still, I worry about their fate. Connor’s buds with the football team, Dave’s hanging with Adam. Hopefully Wes and Hannah can get involved in more plots via their new friendship with Liam, assuming he’ll be around as a recurring character.

That’s good to hear Nina. I would hate for Wesley to vanish like Leia, Blue and Derek did. That’s the one consistent thing I have against the writers. If you introduce a main character like Wesley and for some reason you decide not to write for them anymore, at least write them out like they did Connor for the majority of Season 11 Part 1. There’s absolutely no reason to pretend as if they were never there.

I loved the Claire plot, but sorry Claire and Jake calling themselves siblings totally grossed me out considering they had dated. Claire and Jake agreeing to be friends, that’s great. Siblings? Sorry, that’s pretty gross. I didn’t mind them dating when their parents married, considering that they had been attracted to each other before they even knew their parents were dating and had never considered themselves siblings. This is a bit too much for me though. I don’t understand why they can’t just be good friends, rather than “brother and sister.”

thank you @ScottyB , finally someone who is actually ok with Imogeli as a couple. I really don’t think they’re all that bad together; as for being forced together, I think the way in which Fiona did it was completely realistic. I remember having friends who matchmaked their girl and guy friends because those people were to nervous to say anything to each other. Eli just escaped came from an extremely dramatic school year and is finally in a good space, and Imogen finally stopped obsessing over Eli; I couldn’t imagine them ever getting together without the intrusion of Fiona because they both know how terrible the past was. Yes Degrassi has a terrible track record of ‘slapping’ couples together but I feel this is one of the few couples that were ‘slapped’ together in a right way. Kary stated above that they never showed any romantic interest in each other, but i’ve actually picked up on a few notions- Eli pushing Imogen to go to Fiona’s party (he cares for her), him laughing at Imogen’s weird actions and comments like ‘maybe I should go to rehab’ (perhaps im looking into this too much but I think regular guys like Drew or Owen would be turned off by her actions and would not want to socialize with her anymore), also their little flirtatious moment in part one of this episode where Imogen playfully whispered in his ears. Obviously Eli didn’t show as much interest like he did with Clare, but that was because him and Clare didn’t have a terrible start to their friendship so it wouldn’t be awkward or uncomfortable for him to show his feelings AND he wasn’t unstable at the time, unlike with Imogen where he practically ripped her heart out in the beginning with his stellar comment ‘you mean to me what I mean to Clare, and that’s nothing’. Both characters’ friendship got off to a terrible start but now that they mend their fences and finally are in good spirits, I can understand Imogeli as a couple. Although I am loved Eclare BEFORE season 11.5, I think Imogeli have potential.
And is it just me or is Ali pissing you off? She is one of the most shallow, indecisive, run around character i’ve ever encountered. I should have made this comment in part 1 because that was when she was present but now that i’m thinking about this I have to get this off my chest. In the beginning, Ali HATED Jenna, absolutely hated her and stook up for Clare when Jenna dated KC shortly after Clare and him broke up; now she’s defending her saying she doesn’t have to justify herself? I get that they’re friends but I absolutely loathe this friendship. I just feel like Ali befriended her again because Clare kept pissing her off and she needed someone else and she has no other friends, so here comes Jenna. She is one of the characters that always plays both sides of defense depending on which team she’s on for that time period and I cannot stand it. Plus she is so shallow and all she cares about is being popular and having a boyfriend. She was enjoyable to watch in season 8 but now, I cannot wait for her to graduate.

You are so right on the Alli front of things. Just thinking back to when the episodes of Season 9 were first airing, Alli was JEALOUS of Jenna! She wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. Even after they became closer through Alli’s STD drama, she was clearly fed up with Jenna throughout the rest of Season 9 once she found out about her relationship with KC. I get that people change, I have lost pretty much all of my friends due to their ego taking over. That’s not the point here, though. The fact that Jenna and Alli were both involved with football players at the time does not explain the complete 180. It was never even explained that Alli truly forgave Jenna. I mean she obviously did based on her telling Jenna there’s no need to “justify herself to Clare.” I just think it’s truly ironic that Alli had absolutely negative to say about that whole situation, considering how things went down the first time. Even with the whole Clare/Jake/Alli triangle, that whole thing was over and done in a matter of seconds, I can’t believe that after their two years of being “best friends forever,” that is honestly all it took for Clare and Alli to fall apart. I mean it had been building up for a while, but it sucks how the ultimate downfall was something so petty. I feel like the only reason why she initially became friends with Jenna is because she’s the only other prominent female character in their grade. The writers wanted to make way for the misfits, and who else could they have honestly have Alli form a sincere friendship with? At this point, it seems like Jenna is Alli’s only friend, which further implicates that up until Season 10 Clare and Alli had no one else to truly rely on except for each other. Throughout Season 10, the occasional scenes we actually did get between the two was Alli whining about her problems to Clare. In Now Or Never & Nowhere To Run, it was Clare whining to Alli. The tension between them had been setting itself up for a while, Nowhere To Run made me realize how serious a lack of communication they actually had. I think what the two of them really need is to just sit down and have a long talk. A serious heart to heart. Listen to EACH OTHER for once.

Honestly, this episode was so refreshing and worth waiting for, especially Clares storyline. Yes she has been whiny and annoying, but I felt that was because she was being ignored and picking up other peoples baggage. She had to deal with all that Eli jazz before, and it seemed that she was always helping others (Adam, Alli…) I wasn’t surprised she turned bratty. This episode, we actually got to see why she was acting this way, and how hurt she was by all this rejection. I think this storyline was also relatable. Not saying we’ve all ran away to a strangers house only to find they selling the wacky tabacky to make ends meet and we’re okay with that, but her parents divorce, the rejection and the awkward relationship between her and her parents, not to mention her ex-step boyfriend. You commented how you didn’t like how Clare was ‘isolating herself’ when she dated Jake, but I actually think it was great. It really helped with the storyline, and to be honest, it happens all the time, both with friends and family. This was actually the first time in a while I didn’t want to strangle her. Hopefully this means the old Clare is making her way back to the show.

I’m so glad Clare seems to finally be getting back to her old self again. We all know she’ll never be the same as when she first appeared on the show, but that’s kind of a good thing. I’d be content with her acting how she did in Season 10, which was actually a progression from her Freshman year! She’s been my favorite character since we first saw her back in Season 8. Although her behavior this season has mostly been comprised of irritational overreactions, there weren’t many points in time where I stopped to question it. As much as we can sit here and say that Now Or Never derailed her character to the point of no return, it wasn’t random. That was development. Now that we fully got to see things from her perspective, it made Not Ready To Make Nice one hell of an episode. At this point, I think Clare’s on her way to becoming even more kick-ass than she was during The Boiling Point! On the Connor/Mo front, the whole look and feel of that plot just provided a major nostalgia throwback to the Seasons 1-4 era of The Next Generation. It’s great that they can make sport-related plots that are even more engaging than Season 8 & 9s (which were kind of a disappointment in comparison), it shows that the writers still have that creative oompth. Honestly, in Now Or Never, I was seriously starting to question why they’re keeping Connor on the show. After that plot? Keep it coming, great display of his mental disability. As for Fimogeli, this is a disaster waiting to happen. I honestly love their friendship & at this point I’d prefer Fimogen over Elmo. From what we’ve seen, Elmo just does not work on-screen as a couple at all. If Fimogen were to happen, I’d want it to be in a way that would not ruin the trio’s bond. There are a few ways they could take this, but who knows what’ll happen with it.

I don’t think Fiona crushing on Imogen is unbelievable at ALL. Take it from personal experience when you’re a gay female and not very social all your life and then all of the sudden a sweet girl starts wanting to be your friend and hanging at all the time and wanting your attention…you betta believe a crush is going to happen.
That being said, the way she handled it…no, ma’am. Not realistic at all. But we must remember that she is an alcoholic, kissed her twin brother on the mouth, fell in love with her first friend (Holly J), fell mega hard for the first other gay lady she met, ‘set free’ someone else’s feline friend (lols), ran away from home (kind of), among other things. Anything unbelievable going on with her, well we must remember she isn’t the most stable person on the show

I also think that Fiona having a crush on Imogen makes every kind of sense. Fiona doesn’t really know who she is or who she wants to be (that’s really the reason why she feels so lost most of the time), and that makes it very difficult to know what to look for in a potential love interest. Okay, so she figured out the gay part of herself, but that’s not enough to really know yourself, and even dating-wise it only really narrows down the field by half. It’s kind of natural that the girls she gravitates towards are those with whom she has something in common and who are kind to her. She simply doesn’t have any further criteria for compatibility to work with. And having a crush on your straight best friend is certainly something a lot of gay girls can relate to. It’s not even about Fiona being unstable; it’s more that there aren’t a lot of girls she can choose from and she isn’t strong enough to resist falling in love with someone who is just nice to her. Honestly, I think that the Fimogen thing is going to happen, because that’s what this plot seems to be driving toward. However, in order to make it truly work for me the writers would have to show more feelings for Fiona on the part of Imogen and some sort of an indication that Fiona doesn’t just like Imogen for wanting to be her friend.

And I just read for the first time the “Need You Now” episode description,and while I’m not really excited for the Eli/Imogen plot since they kind of bored me this week, and I am being thrilled the writers are keeping the Kenna adoption plot going. This is exactly the kind of follow up they needed after JT/Liberty gave their baby up for adoption, and I’m excited they’re continuing the adoption plot this time around.

There’s been no reports of him leaving the show, but there’s also been no signs that he’s still around either. One of the latest youtube videos Spencer did said he’s doing dj work, so we can almost assume Wes isn’t coming back in Season 12.

Liked Clare’s plot very much. I’m going through a similar situation, so I can really get where she was coming from. I’m 25, but a lot of the elements of her plot hit home for me. Except my dad isn’t leaving me at home to deal with my histrionic mother, and I get to live with him until I can move into a place of my own. I also loved the Jake/Clare scenes at the end of the episode. Seeing Clare laugh actually made me smile. Hopefully, this means the beginning of a return to a more rational Clare, and a rekindled friendship with Alli.
I enjoyed Connor’s plot for the most part, but the ending was just too precious and after school special-ish, right down to Connor’s monologue about Mo being “just as insecure” as he is, that they should both be friends because they’re insecure, and the claim that they can be accepted by their teammates if they work together to win the game. I wasn’t aware I was watching D2: The Mighty Ducks. I also found the joke they played to win the game a very rushed, cartoony way to wrap the plot up. I felt that it was too cute, and just didn’t jive with the rest of the story.
Fimogeli…well, first, I just want to say that I HATE these instant best friendships that the characters are thrown into when their former best friends are no longer around (Jane moving on to Holly J after Darcy left, Fiona moving on to Imogeli after Holly J graduated). I hate that the friends who are left at Degrassi just go on pretending that their former besties never existed. Now that Holly J’s no longer around, Fiona’s fawning over Imogeli, calling them her “besties”. I don’t hate their friendship, though. I think the trio is quirky and cute, but there’s something about it that feels off. Probably the fact that the writers needed to throw these three kids together because they realized that without Anya and Holly J around, Fiona would have no friends, and that Imogen was a senior with no defining characteristics other than her tendency to obsess over boys who spend too much time at Hot Topic. I keep thinking of the scene with Fiona, Holly J, and Anya at the beginning of the season where they were trying to think of what to do for Anya’s birthday. What a great scene that was! The dialogue was so organic, it seemed almost improvised. I totally bought their friendship. They talked like my friends and I did in highschool. Fimogeli always sound like they’re reading from a script in their scenes.
As for the actual plot, I like Fiona’s crush, but I would have liked to have had more build-up to it. As I stated in the discussion of Part 1, I would have liked to have seen a few episodes focusing on Imogen and Fiona as friends who are getting to know each other, maybe trying to get back at Katie and Marisol, something lighthearted and sweet, so that we can be a little more emotionally invested in their bond. Instead, we got a few throwaway lines about similar upbringings, and then Fiona’s got a crush. We cared about Palex because we SAW them grow as a couple. We SAW them work together and become friends, and eventually lovers. We’ve got loads of episodes now, with the intention being to stretch out plots so that they’re more realistic, and allow for more character development. So WHY was this story so rushed?
I can buy the feelings on Imogeli’s parts. Given how he treated Imogen last year, and his own state, it makes sense that Eli would want to keep his distance. Imogen was obsessed with Eli last year, so it makes sense that Eli would want to just be a good friend to her now that she’s in a better place, rather than become emotionally involved with her, and risk harming both of them. Their relationship last year wasn’t a healthy one, so I can totally understand the reluctance to pursue any sort of romantic relationship.

I love Clare, I think, for me personally, she is the easiest to relate to. I would love to actually see her work on herself for a little while. I like that her and Jake reconciled… but to me its weird that they now all of a sudden consider themselves “siblings” have them be friends… I dont understand why they have to consider each other siblings when they were barely even friends. I kind of hope we get a chance to see a little more of Clare before the finale, maybe not an A plot… but like a line or two just to see how everything is… they also need to give her some friends again my goodness!

Okay I have to admit, this has been the first time in a while that I have enjoyed an episode of degrassi in general let alone Clare & jake..even a Conner storyline. I have to say..it was a good two parter or whatever their calling it now :S I hope this continues for the rest of the season and more.
But, the Eli and imogen thing was just so forced and quick, I mean here we are with tension between the both of them after why Fiona did, and then boom in the blink of an eye/scene they are automatically deciding to go on a date and become a couple? Come on..really? I have nothing against them being a thing, but at least give it some time…let us actually GROW on the two before you mash them together!! It’s all a setup just to get to the next episode and cause drama…to tell us that Eli is still edgy and stuff. Trust me I’m not buying it and neither are some as well. Ugh.
Btw I truly felt the emotion of what Clare was going through, between the jake/Jenna thing and her parents/living situation..holy cow how much can one girl take? It was a very very closure for Cake as brother and sister Awh :)

I tend to agree much! The suicidal idea some of you guys have though of i think is a tad extreme for Clare, Seeing Darcy already did it and so. The imogeli thing, I really don’t feel it it’s all reverse, And wrong. However i kinda see Fiona’s crush on Imogen. The Mo and Connor thing was excellent, To die for, It was hilarious, I’m lovin it! The clare thing was also a bit different, And i still feel the feeling between eachother. In conclusion the episode was… awkward and rushed. I need some kenna storyline

I’m so happy that cake is over, they were so annoying. I want eclare cause they had chemistry unlike the eli couple. Fiona needs to go to guys because I feel like her being gay was cop out because no of her relatioships have worked before, in all honesty I just want her in a happy relationship. But when Fiona almost cried about Imogen that made me very sad. I hope Imogen and Eli break up and just remain friends.

I really think Imogen likes Fiona…If Fiona would have said Imogen I like you as more than a friend, I think Imogen would have said “I’ve never dated a girl, but for you, I’ll give us a shot” honestly I think she would. It wouldn’t be from left field either because so many people in h.s. go through a “lesbian” phase, I can’t even count on one hand how many of my friends in h.s. did that and they were in a SERIOUS relationship with a girl and once they didn’t work they went back too boys. hmmm just a thought. what do you guys think???

While I do agree that the writers slapping together characters into friendships/relationships is getting tiring, I don’t think Fimogeli is that bad. The conversation between Fiona and Eli about him liking Imogen really came of as a genuine conversation between two friends. Even if everything that came after that seemed forced, Eli, Imogen, and Fiona seem to be have some sort of basis to their friendships with one another. Though to be more precise, Eli and Fiona’s and Fiona and Imogen’s friendships, and Fiona being the glue that holds Eli and Imogen together. I’d rather see Fimogeli and Cake’s newfound brother/sister relationship due to circumstance than the odd trainwreck that was Drew, Katie, and later Marisol. Also, I think it has been long enough since Darcy’s been on the show for Clare to be able to pull of a good suicide storyline. Everything about her character seems to be pointing towards something like it in the future.
