I originally thought that TeenNick would kick off their April 2nd premiere with Heart Like Mine (since it is the next episode in the order after all), but they’ve decided to lead with something better: Why Can’t This Be Love!!!! It’s renamed “Broken Promises,” but this is actually great news that this episode is airing so early. Thanks to everyone who pointed out the Broken Promises promo.
US and Canadian fans will most likely get to see the episode around the same time (at least within a couple of weeks of this other), which is a good thing. Oh, and ever since Stefan Brogren tweeted while they were filming this episode, Why Can’t This Be Love has been one of the most anticipated episodes of the Season.

Part of me wonders what motivated TeenNick to air Why Can’t This Be Love first. The only real stipulation for an episode being played out of order is that the move doesn’t cause any continuity issues. In Heart Like Mine Pt. 2, Sav and Anya can be seen sitting next to each other acting just fine as they judge auditions for the musical. So I assume that whatever happens in Why Can’t This Be Love between Sav and Anya ultimately won’t end their relationship (on bad terms at least).

They werent lying when they said the episode order would be really different. But i think when season 9 is ova and they play the marathons, i think that WCTBL go back in order after SMU.
Now i really wanna see this episode, i hope anya doesnt do anything stupid and get pregnent, because i was just starting to think that she wasnt so naive anymore.

Why’s Blue even a main character this season? He’s been in ONE major plotline. The rest has been insulting Holly J., getting girls and drawing art. And am I the only one who finds it odd that Blue knew Sam was gay when none of the rest of them did?

Oh. Well, that’s cool. Thanks, Kary. :-) It’s just, when I first post things, it’s automatically there, and then it just goes poof! And I never really knew about the whole comment evaluation thingy. So in continuity, this is the airing order that makes the most sense to me: “Broken PROMises”-Sav/Anya Holiday Road-Emma/Kelly In Your Eyes-Holly J./Declan? Heart Like Mine-KC/Clare Start Me Up-Peter/Victoria Innocent When You Dream-Clare? Keep On Loving You-KC/Clare Degrassi Takes Manhattan-God Knows. Out of continuity, they would have to air heart like mine first, then start me up, then innocent when you dream(if Clare’s in it), Keep On Loving You(if KC/Clare). And Holiday Road and In Your Eyes are(so far) stand-alone episodes. So they’ll probably air first, with Degrassi Takes Manhattan definitely airing last.

I like that they’re finally bringing new episodes back, it’s a bit bizarre that they’d skip so far ahead, but I’ve already seen the episodes in between, so I guess it’s alright. xD
But the promo was really good, I can’t wait!

They do. And Degrassi In Kenya was on Demand 3 months before it actually aired on Teennick as Degrassi: Doing What Matters. So they do show NEW episodes, but they can’t exactly show future ones like 1, 2 or 3 months before it actually airs or else they’d be sued.

If they show KC and Jenna or Claire it would definitely mess things up, even though in the mini “Good Times” Peter is already back in the band even though they haven’t aired Start Me Up yet. I think Degrassi, like many high schools, have a Junior-Senior Prom so KC and Jenna wouldn’t be allowed to go anyways.

Although, that Declare snippet from the promo is probably from Broken PROMises. And since Heart Like Mine hasn’t aired yet, it would be rather dumb to have a prom episode air first with Klare nowhere to be seen.
