Don't worry guys...we're confused too.
The quest to find out what surprising thing Degrassi has in store for us in Season 10 continues on The Exec’s twitter:

well, not sure if there will be a theme change, but there probably will be at least a couple of new characters…
.. but of course neither of those would be surprising… and not what i’m talking about! (lol rather, NOT talking about!)

So basically we still have no clue what this new thing is. But I thought it was interesting that he mentioned something about new characters. It’s not 100% confirmed by any stretch, but I kinda wanna know what these new characters would be all about. Are they going to be added onto the cast or are they replace graduating characters?
And what are they going to do with the kids that have graduated? I don’t know about you, but I’m not really interested in another stint of following characters to college…the first go round was a complete waste.
Either way, I don’t mind new characters as long as they are interesting.
And as far as them possibly doing a new theme? The only issue I have is that if they’re going to do a new theme song, they need to completely re-cut the opening credits. I can’t be the only person that notices it, but the video (most of it still from Season 8’s opening) and the new audio for Season 9’s opening credits are out of sync, and it’s very distracting.
Oh well…keep harassing The Exec until he caves and tells us what’s up with Season 10!!!

new theme change again? that’s not new & surprising either. there’s nothing else it could be…!!!! please, no new characters.
haha, i’m so mean. but he was nice to respond directly to me! that’s the first time he’s done that. i’m “saysomethingmor” on twitter. so yeah…. i just sent him a new twitter: i love 6 & 7 theme, if you are going to change again. as long as the characters are interesting and fleshed out! :-)

maybe it won’t be called Degrassi anymore? Or maybe it’ll be Degrassi: The New Next Generation? Haha…. or maybe they’re going to let Americans audition now? I don’t know…

More new characters? No! I’m just tired of new characters, they’ve introduced a truck load the past 3 seasons.

If you think about it, new characters are inevitable, being that after this season The seniors will be gone. and thats a good 5-6 characters. They most likely will be adding to Allie’s class
OFF TOPiC- Kary how do you upload degrassi youtube vids without the copyright. I made a Holly J tribute and it was immediatly taken down. Thx in advance, and sorry its offtipic.

I figure there’s some video content that’s been “tagged” by youtube and Viacom, so like if your video is uploaded and if it uses any of the tagged copyrighted stuff, it’ll immediately get rejected. I tried to upload a video the other day and it got instantly rejected because of that. As far as uploading degrassi stuff (or anything) on youtube in general, there’s no rhyme or reason to what video stuff they choose to delete…seeing as how a huge majority of the stuff uploaded on youtube technically violates copyright laws, they really just randomly picks and chooses whose content stays and whose is deleted. :-/

Maybe they will do students in junior High again which could explain why their bringig in new characters.And it could be a good idea because the newer fans need new characters to fall in love with just like we did with Emma,JT,Toby,Manny and alll the others.

I’m hoping whatever they do, it involves a longer season runtime since Canada keeps airing it in double episode format and four eps of the season are turned into a movie. Which could make following graduated cast less of a season murderer (and possibly give Blue a personality besides ‘I like art and now hate Holly J’). 25ish eps with this castsize and four of them devoted to a movie (which while I loved Paradise City, and was happy they did it, that was four episodes that could have GIVEN NEW CHARACTERS A PURPOSE. As they put the focus on six pretty much defunct characters).
