The first 4 episodes are 2-Parters? I thought Stephen said they were not going to be hour long episodes.
Are they now naming the episodes after 90’s and 00’s songs also?

Also, they’re not going to be hour long episodes…he tweeted to one of his followers that they all won’t be two parters. It’s just looks so bizarre b/c this is the first time they’ve EVER had back-to-back two parters.

I know that “What a Girl Wants” is a Christina Aguilera song from the late 90’s. “Breakaway” is a Kelly Clarkson song. Hmmm….this is all so curious. Maybe Stephen will reveal more soon. It’s driving me insane.

Hi Kary- I really like your Degrassi site! I think it’s very creative you made a Season 10 page already! I have 3 ideas for the new and surprising thing for season 10:
* Instead of 80’s songs they are naming them 90’s and 00’s song titles. Since What A Girl Wants is Christina Aguilara and it was released in late 90’s and Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway was released in 2002!
* This might be the last season of Degrassi (if it is ill be very depressed) but, if it is every character will have a two parter, meaning that the second part of the episode will be their send off episode. And the none two-part episodes will just be regular episodes. But, the season will have mostly two-parters.
* Lastly, The school year will be split into four seasons. Meaning, Season 10,11,12,and 13!
P.S- I hope it’s #3 cuz i love degrassi

i hope the school year will be divided into 4 seasons b/c it would give them an excuse to make degrassi run longer. in florida (where i live, well at least in sarasota we have quarters which are 9week periods. we get report cards at the end of each quarter. so maybe thats what their doing

there’s no way they’re gonna split one year into four seasons. the actors would be getting older, so it would seem like the characters were growing up REALLY fast, and degrassi time would get way behind real time. i mean, the degrassi universe is still in 2008. if they split the year into four seasons, the degrassi universe would be in 2009 when the real world is 2014.

Thats what i was thinking.start doing 1 marking period p/season in order to show a maximation of how much drama degrassi really has. Or maybe theyll spread it out over multiple seasons, sticking to a day-by-day basic. You know. One day per episode?

Where are you getting your “information” from anyway, there’s no way they would do that because the actors would be tied in other engagements in 4 years.

I’m thinking the big surprise will be one that might help bring back some old characters or help keep characters around more. I mean, the fans start to get really attached to characters over the years and then they get taken away. This causes the show to lose ratings, because the fans that no longer have a favorite character on the show don’t tend to want to watch it as much any longer. More ratings helps keep the show alive.
Then again, I could be totally off base. The back-to-back 2 parters are confusing me though. 2 parters are usually the most important story-line’s of each season. So, it must be something major if they are starting two story-line’s off right a the beginning.

I agree. I have become real attached to the old characters and their lives. plus as they get older so do i. now when the younger characters come on the show they of course think like
a younger person and i have to adapt to that. But i also understand that time moves on and you have to change with the times.

I wonder who will be the lead female in season 10 and also who is not returning to the show. The show always has a central female and male character who has a storyline that runs throughout the whole season. Such as Darcy’s rape, and Mia becoming a model while being a single mom and looking for love with Peter. The female lead in season 7 was Darcy Edwards, season 8 was Mia Jones, and season 9 is Holly J. Sinclair, obviously. Also most of the female leads leave after a completing their seasons where their main characters such as Shenae Grimes and Nina Dobrev. Hopefully Claire Arnold doesn’t plan on going anywhere unless its on to bigger projects.

I agree. They definitely focus on a main female and male. I don’t think Charlotte Arnold (Holly J.) plans on leaving anytime soon. She’s just a junior in Degrassi as of season 9.
For me, I think the lead female of 10 will probably be Clare. If not, I’ll go with Alli.
Lead Male will probably be K.C. or Declan.
I know Jane, Peter, Danny, Riley (I think he’s a senior), Johnny, Bruce and Derek are seniors and will Graduate this season. Although Derek hasn’t been in this season and probably won’t be (Does anyone even miss the character Derek?).
Degrassi season 10 will have to replace a few characters. I think Danny, Johnny and Bruce will be the one’s who leave the show. They are some of the most boring characters (Minus Johnny), so Graduating them will be a send off in it’s own.
Blue and Leia will most likely get the boot also. They really don’t do anything at all.
I think we’ll see about 3-5 new characters added on in season 10.

well, the difference between he main femaile leads and charlotte was that Charolette Arnold already had a series under her belt. The show ended, and soon enough she was on Degrassi. The series, I think was Naatuarlly Sadie

rick isn’t the only one to have died from a gun on degrassi… claude from the degrassi high series shot and killed himself… i just wish it was more graphic than what it was, but i guess tv back then had to be cleaner

I absolutely love this site. I’m very busy during the week and its such a relief that this site is up so i don’t miss any news. I’m not really looking forward to season 10. I’m way to stuck on the older characters. The only new characters i like is Alli and Declan. Manny is my favorite character and since shes barley in the show I’m disappointed. The only time she was in season 9 is at Spinners house warming party and she is with Jay. I’m surprised they put them back together because since there never on the show whats the point of putting them together then? I adore Janny though their my favorite couple period.Does anyone else love them as much as me? But overall i think season 10 will be better then season 9. I just hope this time some of the characters will be in character (Jane). She was out of character i would have never believed she would cheat on Spinner and some time hers attitude was very nasty.

i am so excited for season 10!!! i am like in love with this show!!! i also love johnny!!!but i think that fionas character brings alittle to much drama to the show but its fun to watch.and alli and johnny should not get back togeather.they are to diffrent and just dont belong togeather. but i think anya and sav need to get back togeather.they were so cute and she only made one mistake and yes it was a big one, yes but she took the morning after and nothing happened so . and riley i am so happy for for him he is awesome. i so cant wait for this season

i really want the old characters back, not that the new ones aren’t cool but the old ones are so classic. I love manny, jay, emma, liberty, ashley and jimmy…some of them were still on the title sequence for season 9 but they really weren’t ON the show that season. I doubt “Drake” will want to return now that he’s got his whole rap career, but i wish all the old characters would come back, including darcy and mia. Like it was mentioned, i can’t relate as well to the younger characters, i grew up with the old ones and i’m kinda stuck on them. they can stay and be as old as they want who cares? original degrassi members like snake are on DTNG so why can’t cast members who are just out of the school not be focused on? Bull..i’m upset.

In the acting world you don’t want to stay on one job for too long because then when you try to audition for other things, casting directors will see you as one character. yes i did get that from that episode from season 7

It is amazing to me that anyone stays interested in Degrassi — They have no regard for the audience, as they put out episodes on a whim. — There will be the few who do watch, but they are missing a large audience. After a while, it is all recycled plots and storylines. By the time they get to resolving any of the characters’ issues, the actors have outgrown their parts -the story line is so cold, no one cares.

I know that they will definitely be getting at least one new character, because a friend of mine from high school’s younger brother has been cast in the show, has already filmed a handful of episodes, and the family is moving to TO after the school year is over. He looks young for his age so I’d assume that he’d play a grade nine or ten. Haven’t seen proof of this on the degrassi website, imdb, or anything like that, but apparently its the talk of my town.

In the Movie I believe Jane Gets pregnant, Emma turns to drugs because of her problems. Someone gets a disease. Spinner finds out about jane and declan through fiona to break declan and Holly j up but Fiona dooesnt realize how much she hurts declan. Thats all i can think of right now…

This may be stupid , but the fact that KC looks down at Jenna makes me think maybe she is pregnant and is not sure who the father is, or maybe She cheated on him with the transgender not knowing it was a girl and he looks her down at her in judgement because she doesn’t know if she wants to be with Adam or not. I don’t know, just a stupid theory, but I think the fact that he looks down for just a moment says something. Because her face looks apologetic when he backs away.
As for the transgender thing. I was just thinking to myself that I don’t think Degrassi has “Gone there” to use their tagline. And then I watch this promo and see that they do. I can’t think of much they haven’t done.
I can not wait for the new season, I am so glad they are going for a soap opera format.
At least we don’t have to wait too long for the new season, but still it is long enough!

I also think that Jenna did something with the transgender, the way KC looks at her, and her expression is so eeerryy. I wish that some of the old cast members would come back, I think there is going to be more of Marco (he already came back for an episode) maybe he will hook-up with Riley. I think Spinner will find out about Jane and he will hook up with someone else OR maybe he will want to commit suicide. I definitely think someone will die this season because Claire turned over the death card.
The new guy Alli is kissing in the booth will defiantly break some hearts.
I want to know how Fiona gets a black eye and what happens with Holly J and Declan after New York, will her move back with her???

I wonder if Fitz kills Eli. I think he should have more time in the series (Eli not Fitz). But Eli does have that creepy killer hot thing going on so Eli might kill fitz so he can stop Fitz from bullying people. But Eli will date Clare and Clare this thing for guys who will probally end up in prison so who knows what might happen.

At the end of season 9 K.C tells Clare that all of his problems started when they broke up and it’s probably Jenna’s fault. But Degrassi the boiling point they are still together. Will they ever break up?

I so disagree that kc would beat up eli. Why would he care about claire? He’s the one who broke up with her. I doubt he’ll get jealous. And I wonder I saw the commercial and when it said seduction it had allie opening her door 4 drew. So like what happens.drew knos that riley is gay and threatens to tell. Then I’m not sure if its riley tied up or some other guy. And holly j is making out with sav, declan finds out, and they breakup. So after that spinner finds out about declan and jane. And I seen spinner tlkin to emma. And supposebly fiona kisses declan. And fiona gets hit by her abusive boyfriend. And when somebody dies I thnk its gonna be adam, fiona, or elli. But most ppl thnk its gonna be leia. But I picked my choices judging by the episode titles. I personally think that if there is a death this season, its going to be Fitz. I say this because the ‘info’ for one of the episodes says ‘Eli tries to put a stop to Fitz’s bullying.’ He may not die right in that episode, but judging how Eli is an outsider, and Fitz is the new bully, they will DEFINITELY have some sort of conflict. But who knows? Maybe there isn’t a death at all. Maybe the death card was meant as a character changing, or a friendship dying. Death doesn’t always mean well, death.

I’ve been disappointed with season 9 and season 10 so far. I mean yeah a couple good things are going on like Claire and Eli, Eli’s fight with Fitz, and Declan and Holly J. and Riley. Other than that nothing much has happened. I grew up with Craig, Manny, Paige, Emma, Jimmy, Spinner, Jay, Marco, and Alex. Those seasons were really good. There was intense drama real problems. Degrassi is just not what it was and i feel like if they bring back a couple of the old characters then people who grew up with the characters from the first season of degrassi: the next generation (like me) would like this season SO much more. I also feel that the drama in this season is at a 4 on a scale of 1-10. It really makes me sad to see that Degrassi is going downhill. Last I think the writers could mmake dave do SO much more. I really like Dave he is exciting and a pretty cool dude. He has serious potential on the show.

I think that season 10 also is copying most of the drama in past seasons just on a lower scale. Such as Marco being gay (Riley) downtown sasquatch (whatever Sav’s band name is) Emma being anorexic (Jenna taking diet pills) and Ali is just a complete mix of most of the degrassi girls’ past. (emma and jay)=(ali and Johnny) Its all the same it even has the STD scare. Terri and Rick. the abuse (Fiona and he guy from vanderbilt prep) and Sean (K.C.).

Oh my gosh, S10 is NOT copying the other seasons. They are doing drama that people deal with everyday. :| They aren’t even alike. get over it.

But Marco and Riley are two wildly different guys, so the way their being gay has affected their lives is different. And Alli & Johnny were a) last year and b) completely unlike Emma & Jay in so much as they were in an actual relationship and not just fooling around in one episode.
While you can make the case for some resemblance here and there, they are different characters who handle different situations differently. If you’re bored, then why are you still watching?
Season 10 has so far been really about bullying in a way that’s never been addressed on this show. Even when Jay & Spinner bullied Rick and he retaliated by shooting up the school, they were still characters we sympathized with, unlike Fitz and Owen who are unapologetic and evil. They’re clearly the bad guys here.

I looooove Eli, he is super sexy and brings lots of drama and mysteriousness to the show! He’s my new favorite male character and if he dies or gets taken off I will be so sad :(

I love this show so much! I just moved to LA for acting and have an amazing agent & manager i really hope one day ill have the oppertunity to audition and be on the show i KNOW i would fit the part. I pretty much have gone through drama like this for the past 3 and soon to be 4 years with my sr. year around the corner.

uggghhh who else hate the Sav&Holly J ‘couple’ I hope a finds someone new && Sav realizes how he hates seeing her with someone else, so in the end he realizes that he wants Anya && subconsciously used Holly J as a void (whom did the same but with having Sav be the back up for her Declan dilemma) but this severely kicks in when he hears Anya’s new love interest tell her that he loves her && she says the same (but hesitantly) anyone else agree??? :D :D :D

when i watched the promo for the last week of seoson 10, fitz grabed a knife and and walked over to eli and claire. it looked like clair was standing right next to fitz when he took the knife out of his locker. at the end he was standing in front of eli. hope eli doesn’t die.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DEGRASSI ESPECIALLY SEASON 10. ELI AND CLARE ARE MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS. I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEKS EPISODES I HAVE ALREADY SEN THE PROMO ONLINE AND IT IS SO EXCITING. I CANT BELIEVE FITZ GETS A KNIEF OUT OF HIS LOCKER. I THINK HE WILL STAB ELI WITH IT AND THEN CLARE WILL SCREAM. I KNOW YOU SEE THEM IN A PICTURE AND THERE OKAY BUT MAYBE ELI COULD GET STABBED AFTER THAT. I LOVE ELI HE IS THE BEST. omg when i watched the degrassi promo for the final week i totally flipped out. i can’t wait to see what happenes. i think that when fitz pulls the knife out of his locker her goes after eli or clare. so he and eli get into a fight, then clare runs to get help-cuz they show her running away, then like eli stabs fitz cuz later clare asks eli what did you do. but that’s just my pediction. i love degrassi and can’t wait. thanks for reading mine i know its kinda long.

Okay, I’m not like exactly sure about this but like i reaaallllyyyy doubt any of the new characters like Adam Bianca Eli or Drew<3 will die because then they were only there for one season which is pointless. I really think a senior will die (my moneys on Leia) or like maybe Peter cuz they've been there the longest. But who knows we'll just have to wait and see!!! Happy Watching!!!

Quick question: stephen stohn and stefan brogren kept saying at the begining of the season that the episodes werent gonna be all 2-parters.from what ive been hearing they all have been 2-parters.(dont spoil anything about the show for me) just say “yes” if they are all two parters. or “no” if they are mixed with two parters and single eps.

When, oh when will they announced the titles of eps 45-48? Oh wait, will this be another movie? I hope so. I want more Emma and Spinner, they are my favorites. Well, I take that back. Paige is my favorite. I want more of her. And did you guys realize that “Try Honesty Part Two” was Degrassi’s 200th episode? How come no one made a big fuss? It sure deserves one.

Okay so I was just watching some of the older episodes of Degrassi, stuff from seasons 2 and 3 and can I just say that I REEEEEEEEEALLY miss old Degrassi. I found that in the earlier seasons there’s a greater sense of REALITY that I feel the newer seasons/ cast members aren’t able to grasp. I saw that older Degrassi had simpler storylines and AWESOME acting, while newer Degrassi has really bold and interesting storylines but mediocre acting. Another thing I miss in new Degrassi is the sense of unity. It seems like there are no more groups of friends, everyone is just paired off. Clare and Eli, Bianca and Drew, KC and Jenna, Dave and Whatsherface, Adam and Fiona, Holly J. and Sav (I also miss my queen bitch version of Holly J), Zane and Riley, Chantay (or however you spell it) and her passion for power squad and blogging, Wesley and his hand, Connor and his computer, Anya and Dr. Chris (I guess), Ali and misfortune. In each episode it only deals with these match ups (more or less), they’re all like little islands and it’s strange. Hopefully in the future Degrassi can get back on track and forget about the glam and glitz and get back to reality. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the show, but lately it hasn’t been doing it for me.
