With the graduation of the seniors at the end of Next Class Season 4, we’re currently left with 10 characters going into Season 5. How do these characters stack up against each other as they become the new faces of the franchise?
In this video I rank the remaining characters based on their “power” and potential to lead the show in Season 5 and beyond. This exercise is just for fun; it doesn’t carry much weight because we’re pretending as if the show won’t be adding any new characters (the show has auditioned for characters to build a new younger class).

Unless it’s news-related info (which rarely ever seems to happen these days :-/), a majority of the stuff I’ll be posting here are just the Youtube videos I’m making. I’d much rather you follow Youtube since this blog is pretty much just transforming into an archive.

Will next season be the third straight season where Rasha is mrs perfect and does nothing wrong, cause that is getting very boring to watch. Hopefully there are some good new characters cause with the graduation now should be an exciting time to see some new ones and just add different dynamics to the show.

Why doesn’t the degrassi grade strat from grade 7 like it did in DegrassiTNGseason 1
Because I’m going into eghith grade stepemeber and I watch degrassi nextclass
So like I’m wondering if Degrassi just gonna be an High School Show not Junior High
[And like I have watched Degrassi TNG,And in the process of watching degrassi[I’m on season 10] [Oh i asl watched Degrassi:NC season 1,2,3,4.and like the onlt grade 7 they had were like Emma,Manny,J.T Yorke,Toby Issac,Liberty Van Zanth and like they aslo had Clare,Ali[WELL I’M ASSUMING],Wes,Connor,Dave,Jenna and K.C {I’m assuming]
Ok Kary what I’m just trying to say is for season 5,6 [and for futher seasons] will the new charaters be in grade 7?

So TNG1 was trying to bridge the old series to the new series by way of one single character: Emma Nelson.
Emma was the ‘Next Generation’ in the title, being Spike’s daughter. But they were running on a very specific timetable of making it the ten year anniversary of the old series, sticking Emma to one specific age. Around 11-12. So they couldn’t have her start as a high schooler.
But all the really good stories to tell are high school stories. Which is why they quickly turned around and focused almost exclusively in the high school and dropped the lower grades once Kendra vanished (due to a conflict in plot ideas between the actress’s parents and the writers, as the story goes). There’s no reason to start a character at that age as a fully realized main character since what you can and can’t do with a middle schooler are severely limited.
So, while I can’t speak for Kary’s answer to this, the idea of middle schoolers going forward is… unlikely.

Do you guys remember Jack? Snake and Spike’s son. Well considering he was born around 2003, he should be 14 by now. He should get a role on the show, as he experiences life just like his older sister, Emma. Would you guys be here for Jack being brought back as a freshman at Degrassi?

They were working on a 5th season until things got put on hold at some point very early this year…Stephen Stohn confirmed this month though that they’re working on new storylines, so it sounds like it’s back on!
