The rumor for months is that Degrassi would return on Tuesday, October 7th, but now it’s official that Degrassi is returning on Tuesday, October 28th. I know a lot of people were convinced Degrassi would air on the 7th even with the music video promo airing tomorrow, so for future reference keep this reminder in the back of your head: TeenNick promotes Degrassi’s return at the very latest 3 weeks in advance. They’ll never wait just a week or two before a premiere date to suddenly start a promo campaign.

In the Season 14 premiere of DEGRASSI, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 9 p.m. ET), Clare has a serious dilemma that will affect her entire future and confides in Alli. Zoë sees red when Becky tells her she’s too much of a distraction for the power cheer team.
It’s time for Zoë to bring Becky down, literally. Miles and Tristan are getting close, but with his campaign in full swing, Mr. Hollingsworth is worried his son’s behaviour could damage his political prospects. An upset Miles decides to take annoying his father to a whole new level.

Amanda Arcuri is set to take on the role of new freshman Lola Pacini, a boy-crazy cheerleader with colorful hair and a vibrant personality. Her two besties? Frankie (Sara Waisglass), Miles’ little sister, and fellow newcomer Shay Powers, played by Reiya Downs, who is determined to be one of the school’s top athletes. While Shay has high standards when it comes to high school and boys, the only guy she’s interested doesn’t exactly feel the same way.
Another new freshman? Arlene Takahashi (played by Devyn Nekoda) is the quintessential nerd who can be found reading comics while wearing elf ears…that is when she’s not being picked on by the cheerleaders. Finally, there’s Jonah Haak, a new grade 11 student played by Ehren Kassam. While he used to be a bit of a troublemaker, Jonah has seen the light and is ready to make new friends who share his strong faith. While he may have given up all his vices, Jonah’s kept the rock ‘n’ roll.

I don’t mean to be rude but I think they already did this storyline with Paige… or is dropping someone on purpose during a cheerleading routine a common thing now?

Well, I didn’t say they did it on purpose. Frankie and Lola are niners, and all the other girls in the pic look pretty young as well. It’s possible Becky put the routine together quickly because she wanted to to do it for the ceremony they’re throwing in Mr. Hollingsworth’s honor. The rushed practice combined with the younger girls’ inexperience leads to them dropping Becky and breaking her leg.

Either that or they do it because Zoe asked them to. That would explain her evil smile and Zig’s expression while looking at her.

To be fair, the Manny and Paige cheerleader-dropping thing was ten seasons ago, and it was the only time that’s ever happened in the history of this show. Even though sometimes people complain about Degrassi recycling plots, the fact is, when you have a show centered around high school students, it’s logical to display that sometimes the same things may happen, though often in different ways, to different people. Though we all have our own issues, sometimes people do face the same dilemmas.

Yeah, I agree. They seemed like they were so nice to each other. Kinda weird that Becky would be joining and leading a cheer team after the terrible life she has right now with a dead ex, no family, and jailed brother.

Okay so I checked out the degrassi wiki page and if you check the last line of the first paragraph on the season 14 page it says the next season Dylan Everett will be there. Now I’m not trying to sound stupid but I’m preeeeetty sure Cambell Saunders commited suicide. So confused haha

I don’t want to go into any depth with my comment, because I used to use that website and I don’t any more, but I’m not going to sit here and talk about it negatively, because I’m over it. It is what it is. So, I’ll just say that anyone can edit, so… Though the information is largely accurate, there are definitely times where people just insert nonsense into those pages, often just to be funny.

The wiki thing is that it said that the reason why season 14 is 28 episodes is because the one that played Campbell Sanders and Josh Kelly are doing a show produced by the same production company that does degrassi
