Tonight is the final episode of Degrassi 13C. After tonight the show is taking a hiatus; hopefully we’ll receive a timetable for the show’s return after tonight’s episode.
What’s interesting to me after watching Sparks Will Fly Pt. 1 is how there seems to be a general theme running through this entire episode, kind of like the Degrassi Junior High days. In this episode, everyone’s personal issues seem to be bleeding all over everyone around them, causing a clusterfuck of drama.
Zoë’s troubles are the most emotionally heavy. She’s still not over her sexual assault. Channeling those thoughts and emotions happened to benefit her by helping her land her first role since West Drive. But how long will holding onto and using those feelings to advance her career last?
In the two love triangles, everyone’s issues are clashing and causing issues for everyone else. Maya’s issues with needing to “protect” Zig are causing issues with Miles that will explode once Zig finds out. Miles has anger issues that are getting in the way when they don’t need to, because he already has the girl. We will see some of Zig’s issues tonight once Maya tells him the truth.
Eli’s being weird and it’s causing Clare to freak out. That promo clip of Dallas talking to Drew about rebounds makes me think Drew’s recent rebound issues will come into play.
These two situations are so unnecessarily complicated, but isn’t that how us humans like to do things? Whether we mean to or not, we make our lives far more complicated than they need to be. Female characters have taken a beating, physically and emotionally, in 13C. The best case scenario would be that Maya and Clare realize the situations they’re in and the guys they’re dealing with are a mess right now, and both ladies just walk away.
I’ll post my review for this episode late tonight. I’m not quite sure if TeenNick is planning to air a promo teasing 13D after tonight’s episode, but I’ll update once we know for sure. It’s already been confirmed that After Degrassi will be airing a 13D sneak peek tonight. I’ll post that as soon as it becomes available.

Just watched the episode…and OMG…
No new couples…but can still root for Clew and Zaya…yay!
And the promo for 13D on Teen Nick had me thrilled for one reason – the trial for Zoe’s rape. Things a gonna get heavy in June!

This whole back and forth with maya and miles and clare and eli its just so overplayed.I do recall clare is going up to visit eli, right? so maybe she is going to get closure

OMG guys I missed tonight’s episode because of a school event. I was really sad that I had to miss it. It’s so ironic, I wouldn’t have been upset if it were any other episode but I had something of the mid season FINALE! I’ve always been able to stay home to watch it, but it’s just my luck that I had to miss the most important episode at the moment. No spoilers, but was it super good? Will I love it? I hope you guys watched it for me 😄

I thought the ending of Clare and Eli was anticlimactic and rushed. But hey maybe that makes it more realistic. With their “epic romance” according to format they should have had a huge to do of a breakup but it just kind of fizzled out. Thanks Mike for reminding me of her visit to New York though, so there might be more of a resolution. Also, in the preview it looks like she is experimenting with Jack. I find that to be a little contrived. Guys suck so let me see how I like girls. I am super excited for the trial stuff. Overall, I can’t wait for 13D and it won’t be too long.

I actually really liked the episode (not so much the Clew/Eclare drama). In Maya’s plot, I was glad to hear Cam’s death finally referenced, and was happy with the way it ended. It’s clear that Zig cares for her and is still waiting for her, and I hope that that once he cleans up his act that he and Maya will end up together.
Zoe’s plot was great and I want to see more of her crazy stage mom and her home life. Just watched the promo and I CAN’T WAIT for the trial!!!
