Degrassi Thursdays are officially a thing of the past.
In a “plot twist” of their own the networks have decided to move Degrassi to Tuesday nights. Degrassi 13C will premiere on Tuesday, January 28th at 9pm EST. Excluding all telenovelas, I believe this is the first time Degrassi has aired on Tuesdays in the weekly format since early season 6 when it was on CTV.

There’s no information at the moment about 13C’s official broadcast schedule, so for now I’m assuming it’s the same as MTV originally planned it: a 14-episode block with no hourly episodes. If that’s the case, 13C would run from the end of January all the way through the end of April:
1/28, 9pm: Ep. 1317 – The World I Know
2/4, 9pm: Ep. 1318 – Better Man
2/11, 9pm: Ep. 1319 – Dig Me Out
2/18, 9pm: Ep. 1320 – Power To The People

DX I don’t like this….Glee has also moved to Tuesdays. Why is everything moving to Tuesdays? Tuesdays are Supernatural Day, because nothing bad ever happens on a Tuesday (and some also have Pretty Little Liars and Twisted, but I have never seen those shows). Tuesday is starting to remind me of Sundays. I had The Walking Dead, Masters of Sex, Revenge, and Once Upon a Time all airing on Sundays–I was lucky that Dexter had already ended! Too many shows for one day!

To be honest, I’m quite surprised that the show got moved to the start of the week. I always sort of assumed that they would move away from Thursdays and go back to Fridays at some point. It just seems that Degrassi is going to have to deal with more competition for prospective viewers than is necessary.
Any thoughts on this Kary?

I wish we knew who MTV Canada’s competition was, because I’m assuming all moves they make are geared toward that and not toward whatever’s airing on any major network in Canada or the U.S. at the same time. Looking at MTV’s schedule they don’t really have anything on Fridays, they just have all of their big shows running Mondays-Thursdays. I’m sure if TeenNick wanted to air Degrassi on Fridays they probably could, but I’m not sure too many American fans want to go back to watching the episodes later than Canadians.

Good News is unless I work nights Tuesday is my cheat night which means I’ll be getting a buzz on while I (hate) watch this and Glee….. bad news is trying to decide what show is more reliable to catch OnDemand New Girl or The Goldbergs

That’s all I’ve been hearing too. Just how since its on Tuesdays now, nobody is going to be able to tune in since A.) Everyone works on a Tuesday either school or actual working and B.) All the other good shows air on Tuesdays. Hello, ALL the good A+ worthy shows air on Tuesdays! WHAT are these people thinking airing DEGRASSI on Tuesdays?! Are they ASKING for ratings to drop? I even have actual work to do usually on Tuesdays! At least, by the time I get home it should be up on the web ready for viewing from my computer. (I don’ t have TV and usually watch my shows online.)

This is a BAD call, IMO. I am not going to give up my other shows for Degrassi, especially with this season being as lackluster as it has been. Granted that 13C does look pretty interesting, it’s not enough for me to give up PLL or the other shows that I watch regularly. I guess I will be DVR’ing this block. It was bad enough on Thursday’s with Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and TVD happening all in one night along with Degrassi 13B. Sigh…

Why do I feel so surprised? Seriously, I feel like I got punched in the stomach after hearing this. Degrassi Thursdays helped me get through Fridays. Now the week is going to feel longer.

I feel like I’m the only person who feels this works in my favor. the only thing I watch on tuesdays is The Originals, and Degrassi will be on right after that.
