It’s that time of year where Degrassi begins accepting auditions for the show’s upcoming season! Degrassi is currently accepting digital auditions for Degrassi Season 14. Larissa Mair is handling auditions again this year (she did them last year for season 13) and you can find all of the info on her website, but I’ll also go over it below as well as some common Degrassi audition info.
WHO CAN AUDITION FOR DEGRASSI?
This is the most common question I have received over the past 4 years. I’m going to type it in big letters now:
YOU MUST BE A CANADIAN CITIZEN IN ORDER TO AUDITION FOR DEGRASSI.
It doesn’t matter what your dreams are, or how much whining and complaining you do about how life is unfair. Only auditions from people who have Canadian citizenship will be accepted (Yes, dual citizens are eligible…The Stohn himself is a dual citizen). Degrassi receives tax credits from the Canadian government that are quite important to funding the show. One of the rules upon accepting those tax credits is that Epitome must only hire Canadians for the cast and crew.
There is a SLIGHT exception…Stephen Stohn has said before that non-Citizens who have Canadian work visas are also eligible to audition. No, it’s not easy to obtain a work visa (they call it a permit).

DO I NEED AN AGENT?
Yes. It’s weird because the audition forms don’t specify that you need one in order to audition for the show, but every audition FAQ I’ve read has said that having an agent is pretty much needed. Outside of this specific casting call, Degrassi generally searches for talent through Canadian talent agencies. And if your goal is to become an actor, well, you’re going to need an agent at some point anyway.

There is a .pdf packet which contains a personal information form, a parental consent form, audition tips and instructions on how to submit your audition.
If you are a male, please click here to download your audition sides (you will be reading the role of TYLER).
If you are a female, please click here to download your audition sides (you will be reading the role of RANIA).
Read and follow the instructions!! Not following the directions (or calling Larissa to ask about audition stuff) will effectively destroy your chances at getting a callback. They will only call back people that they want for additional auditions.
THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION IS MONDAY, JANUARY 20th, 2014. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Both me and my younger brother have auditioned for that casting agency without an agent! you dont need one for that audition because Larissa mair loves finding fresh faces. Since you can send in the audition tape yourself there is no need for an agent.

im from ohio in the usa and I always wanted to audition. is that possible or ? ive watched the show so many times and I went though almost all the things that happened on the show, between with the bullies and 2 of my friends passed. ( one from a car and one from a gun) , and people always putting me down because they said it would never happen. I just want to prove some people wrong that you can live your dreams by working hard. i’d love to audition for degrassi. please get back to me

You list whatever country you’re currently an official citizen of (so if you’re Canadian you put that down, etc)

i would love to audition for what ever role is next. i love acting and im alot of drama haha. Hilliard,Ohio is where i live. acting and singing is my life. i do sports and play the clarinet. i used to be a cheerleader and gymnast. i play basketball,soccer,and lacrosse now. but anyway i have been watching Degrassi since i was 7. which is kind of bad. i have taken drama classes and singing classes. im 13 turning 14 in two months. The show is funded by the Canadian government so it’s a requirement that all cast and crew is a Canadian citizen. Hope this helped :)
