When TeenNick’s promo said Degrassi will return this October, they really meant it will return as early in October as possible:

The tentative dates for Degrassi this fall are the 13B premiere airing on October 3rd, and the finale airing on November 21st (8 weeks).  Just like Stephen Stohn said before season 13 began, it looks like Degrassi will remain on Thursdays this fall, and it’ll also stay in the 8pm timeslot in Canada.  For now we can also assume TeenNick will continue to air Degrassi on Thursdays at 9pm.

I can’t give you a definitive airdate schedule beyond the premiere because the Stohn said there will be more one-hour episodes throughout the season.  However, we do know that at the bare minimum we’ll see episodes 1309-1316 (most of which their episode titles are still unknown).

There also seems to be an interesting bit of news that will affect Canadian viewers this fall, but I’ll leave the higher powers that be announce that news when they’re ready.

  1. I’m wondering what this news is that will affect us viewers??? You can’t keep us Canadians in suspense like this, I hope this news is revealed sooner rather than later!

  2. I hope that the news will not be that they will only be airing Degrassi on TeenNick.

    1. That is the news, which isn’t even a secret (it’s out there online for the public to see.)

New episodes of Degrassi will be premiering on MTV Canada starting Thursday October 3rd. This isn’t even a secret Kary so why wouldn’t you mention it??? Don’t you want to get the word out? If people don’t know then it could hurt Degrassi’s ratings…….

I hope Much advertises the move.

      1. Where was the move announced publicly? The day I came across it I couldn’t find anything publicly about it, so I just erred on the side of caution. More importantly, why on earth are they not talking about?

  3. Well it’s on Bell’s website and that’s not exactly closed off to the public…. but Much hasn’t said anything yet, neither has MTV.

    1. Lol Bell’s is a “public” site that manages to hide in plain site…I’m waiting for an official announcement on this one. It’s one thing to post say the premiere/finale dates because Epitome doesn’t care if that kind of news is revealed early, and the networks don’t pay attention to this blog (otherwise I have a feeling they might take issue with it). But posting about a network switch is pretty big news that goes over Epitome’s head, especially when it’s guaranteed that fans will start messaging MTV and Much directly to ask if it’s true. I just don’t want to receive e-mails from the networks, getting hassled about why I posted that info before any official announcement was made by either of them.

      1. Well that’s understandable, I wouldn’t want to cause any trouble or have them withhold any info in the future. If you wanna delete the posts with the info, feel free.

Kary, there’s definitely a solid evidence that Much is changing it’s fall lineup (not saying a station switch is likely), but looking from their fall schedule and digitalhome forum, I strongly believe Much is moving towards more of a comedy based TV station,

    1. Thank you for this!! It’s good to see a site like that, since I live in the U.S. and have zero knowledge about the Canadian TV industry.

  5. Kary! Any chance us U.S. viewers will get a TeenNick in HD? I haven’t heard so much as a whisper about it and I’m tired of watching Degrassi in such an outdated and awkward format. It’s almost 2014, Viacom seriously needs to do something or we need our own move to MTV.
